  2. I meant side stand down and in neutral docc> I tend to sit on the bike and start it with the stand up but I'm sure like every other bike I've owned it will start and idle on the side stand in neutral. This is the case isn't it? Phil

  4. As long as the middle/#3 [Neutral] Relay functions. The Neutral Switch may illuminate the green Neutral Light, yet the "Sidetsand" Relay (middle/#3) could be failed, so that the bike will only start with the sidestand up, clutch lever pulled in. (I refer to the middle/#3 relay as the "Neutral Relay" as it is actuated by the "Neutral Switch" on the gearbox. The factory literature calls this the "Sidestand Relay" since it prevents starting when the bike is in gear with the sidestand down.)

  8. So a smaller version of the old Snuba setup, right? almost bought a snuba for a Caribbean sail trip, but I had to cancel trip for work, and never pulled trigger. Just seems way easier for shallow, tropical diving than the tanks. But wondering about weight belts, and buoyancy control in that first 1/2-1 atmosphere of change, where we like to dive and where snuba would be the ticket .

  10. Green light on. Haven't touch the gear lever yet, just pushed her on the floor. Kranked her up a couple of times, all normal. Testing outside tomorrow. Cheers Tom.
  11. On the V11, this is characteristic of a failure of the Neutral Switch --> Neutral (middle/#3) Relay. Does the Neutral Light come on in the display panel? Is the gearbox definitely in Neutral, or is it in gear? Or even in a gap between gears, but not actually in >Neutral< to activate the Neutral Switch --> #3 Relay?
  12. It striked me, remebering when I was gone fire up my brother in law's K1100 RS. No fuel pump, sidestand up, priming. Cheers Tom.
  13. I'm curious what @luckyescobedo thinks of his GB500. And what he is trying to achieve changing the chin pad on his V11 Sport . . .
  14. That strikes me as being a bit odd. Mine (2002 Le Mans, which I believe should have the same wiring as a Coppa Italia) will start with the side-stand down, but the motor stops when it is put in gear with the side-stand down. However, it is too late at night for me to be able to understand the wiring diagram to that depth. Maybe I'll find time to have a closer look in the next couple of days. Or maybe not.The next few days at work promise to be fairly full. It is indeed the brain thing.

  17. So the sidestand wasn't on the bike, or what? PS: you really do need to clean those bikes.
  18. Finished with the paint treatment, Car Pro. Put the tank on and wanted to hear her running. No fuel pump, WHAT. Usual round, direct juice to the pump= working, but no juice in the connector, ended up with, no juice in fuse 2. 2 red feeding wires underneath, have juice. All 4 male connectors underneath are actually move able? So thought bad conection. Probably possible to take apart with some dynamite. Suddenly a miracle in top floor, SIDESTAND.   21. Indeed, that looks good. Expensive, but good things tend to be expensive, and I wouldn't like to trust my life to something cheap.
  22. Well you can forget about the Scura one if you want lower or even equal height to the original V11 rubber pad. I have a Scura one on my bike and it's at least the same height as the original and maybe even a little taller.

  25. Hello all. I am looking for an alternative to the OEM tank/chin pad on my MY 2000 V11 (greenie). Specifically, I am looking for the OEM carbon fiber version that came on the Scura. (The goal here is to find a replacement that fills the cavity on top of the tank once the OEM pad is removed, but do so without the added height of the OEM pad - alternate part suggestions welcome!)
  26. He absolutely did loose it by going over the curb on the inside. But that was because he couldn't keep his bike on the actual line. He ran wide out of the previous corner, being a "left, right, left sort of corner that means being wide out of the previous corner meant he was actually way too tight going in to the corner he crashed in. That put him way over the curbing on the inside. He had numerous slides and it was clear he was pushing hard. Running wide and offline like he did was simply what that led to. The racer that followed his brother around all race saving his tires and keeping his powder dry was not the racer we saw at COTA. He was trying to make a point. That sort of victory was not going to cut it at one of "his tracks".
