GU01433400 for the early Sports, 1999-2001. I get the same number for the bracket from my 2002 Parts Catalog: 01 43 34 00 When searching, sometimes the "GU" is helpful, and otherwise should be left off.

The front tire has zero riding time (no miles) on it ? Brand new tires tend to be "squirmy" until they heat cycle and wear in a bit. Those mold sprues should go away very quickly. Verify tire pressure, as well. What is the production date of the front tire? Here, in The States, that is a four digit (week/year) code after the "DOT" (Department of Transportation) stamp on the sidewall . . .

I did not think the 1100 Sport-i Frame Side Plates are the same as the V11 Sport because of the gearbox and driveline offset changes . . . Are the pivot pin part numbers the same from the 1100 sport-i and the early V11 Sport (GU 37547005)?

The part number nor year was identified in the eBay listing, only "V11" but I took a chance because they were only about $35 in the door including shipping. They're very nice, clean, nuts are perfect. It's also possible if unlikely that the other pivot is in the transmission box, which I may see before the end of the month.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I rode the V35 Imola today for the first time in several months. A couple of times in curves, I had the feeling that the front tyre was squirming a bit. The bike had the Michelins on it when I bought it, more than 20 years old, and it was obvious when I bought the first Heidenau tyres for it that Heidenau had "oriented" its design to the Michelins. Anyway... the front tyre has only done about 200 km, and is covered in extrusions from the moulding process. "Hairy", so to speak. It ocurred to me just now that the squirminess might be caused by the extrusions. I'm inclined to remove them purely for aesthetic reasons (doesn't look cool...), but am now thinking there might actually be a practical reason to take the time to do that. Opinions?

I ordered a set of 1100 Sport-i sideplates with pivot pins included from TLM. Either way they should work.

mine came with extras... didn't look at them very closely. Post up a pic of the good side and I'll see if I can match it.

I only skipped through that, but I noticed two with Pirelli Phantoms and clip-ons. I'd have one of those. I rather hope that there will be a model at some point with the V100 motor or a derivative thereof and clip-ons. Not holding my breath, though. Interesting that there was a California just before the end, and it looked a lot like a 1400 motor. I thought they were history. Maybe not.

No. Early short frames were red as well as the black short frame of the 2001 Rosso Mandello. Pretty sure those all used the smaller pins. Long Frame started with the 2002 LeMans (some Euro models could be very late 2001). I am not certain if the larger pins started with the first long frame or later . . . Smaller pivot pin for the early, 1999-2001, short frame: GU 37 54 70 05 The 2002 Parts Catalog I have shows the pivot pin as 01 54 70 60 Is that the part you received, @Pressureangle?

Is the frame color a factor ?

Ah, yes, the diameter changed (larger) during the V11 production run. Perhaps with the Long Frame after 2001..... Early (smaller) pivot pin: GU 37547005

Thanx for the link, I have another that’s been re sprayed. It’s finding the time to fit. ive just got it back on the road after my crash, it’s the left handlebar as it’s bent I’m having difficulty sourcing and the cost is astronomical!!😳

I am the opposite; I think we have too many dull colors today. Most of the cars out there are either white, gray, or black. Obviously, I am biased because both Texas and France have in common Blue White Red on their flags.

Tidbit for the archives- I bought a pair of V11 swingarm stub bolts on eBay.de, which came today. Unfortunately, they don't fit. They are the correct length in thread and stub, but the thread of my original pivot is ~20mm, and the newly arrived ones are ~22mm. I suppose it's possible that they are from a later model, a CARC or something, but only Pete might know that. I'm thinking they're the same as my '97 Sport 1100 and they got bigger along the way somewhere.

I had a close look at my frame/subframe, 2000 Red frame V11 and can say with certainty that the subframe is centered along the spine frame axis. It's never been unbolted, the bike has never been crashed and the center captive nut on the tail loop is clearly centered along the frame centerline.

The black musicians become one with their instrument . Jimi was light years ahead of ANY musician. I cannot imagine what all those Brits felt when they saw him. I remember this documentary where one of them simply said "we'll have to get new jobs" .

I am sure Phil was giving Molly the best/correct diagnosis , he was trying to adjust the valves on the valve overlap stroke instead of the ignition stroke.
