Guest Guest_dlaing Posted July 13, 2002 Posted July 13, 2002 Please let me know if you have more info to add to this list. Question, can anything that fits an 1100 sporti fit a V11six speed? If that is the case than D&D and Bub can be added to this list. Mistral aluminum$335, carbon round $545, carbon oval $600, titanium ???, http://www.agostiniduilio.com/ http://www.mgcycle.com/ staintune ss $615 http://www.cbtimports.com/staintunehome.htm m4 aluminum $595 carbon $795 http://www.m4exhaust.com/ http://www.harpermotoguzzi.com/ fbf titanium or carbon $689 http://www.ferracci.com/ Raceco titanium 290 british pounds http://www.raceco.com/exhausts.html Leo's aluminum$681, titanium or carbon $842, http://www.leovince-america.com/makes/moto...td-slipons.html Gianelli ??? maxtreme ??? Others ???
joe camarda Posted July 13, 2002 Posted July 13, 2002 Thanks for useful information re exhaust systems available for V11 Lemans/Sport. I was hooked by the Fast By Ferracci pipes until I checked the prices. The prices listed for the FBF's and the Raceco's are for EACH CANNISTER. The prices listed for the Mistrals, M4's, Staintunes and the Leo Vinces are for BOTH CANS! Ah well, a poor fella can dream! Can anyone offer comments re the FBF's that would justify the 2X$689 pricetag? Otherwise, I see a set of Leo Vinces or Raceco's in my future.
dlaing Posted July 13, 2002 Posted July 13, 2002 $689 per muffler!!! That is outrageous! Do they plate the inside with platinum???? Another possible addition to the list is Termignoni. Someone(Ivan Merighi) apparently from FBF Italy posted powercommander maps for the Termignonis. It is kind of interesting that FBF USA and FBF Italy sell different mufflers on their websites. USA sells the FBF mufflers and Italy sells Kerker/SuperTrapp and WRP.

joe camarda Posted July 14, 2002 Posted July 14, 2002 "Scura Owner", Thanks for the correction re the FBF cannisters, the price od $689 for the PAIR is do-able. Are you the same poster who commented that you were dissapointed by your FBF's, "too loud and some weld splattering"? Would you say they are louder than Leo's? BTW I did get the price right on the Raceco's, product and shipping to California will run about $1K (USD)l
Guest Scura Owner Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Yes, I am the one in the same. I have never heard the Leo's; so I can not compare. I can say that I have heard the FBFs on bikes other than mine and they do not seem that load. Paranoia on my part? There is a fit issue with the FBFs as well as others, as I understand. Fitting the left side bracket inside of the mounting point requires a force fit. It is a better/easier fit to leave it on the outside of the mounting point. I understand from post on other web sites that Minstrals have the same problem.
Guest chris Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Giannelli makes a muffler set for the V11 sport that also fits the Le Mans in titanium, carbon and stainless steel. I fitted a set of titaniums, sounds great, +6hp and is set much higher than the standard pipes. This gives the bike a very sporty side and rear profile. Rear passengers suffer however due to the footpegs being much higher. Go to www.giannelli.com.
joe camarda Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Chris, I went to the Giannelli site and they dont show a picture of the mounted pipes. They do say however, that the passenger pegs need to be removed. Can you post photo? TIA
Guest Jaap Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Hi Joe, you can find a pic of the Gianellis on the accesories page of the site. Mounted on a Scura.
Guest Oliver Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Hi Joe, I hope this will help .... Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Guest JohnInNH Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 Can anyone please tell me if there is any difference in sound between the Mistral Round vs the Oval. I would think the oval has a larger canister (is it?), and as such, may have a softer deeper sound. I would prefer the quieter of the 2. Thanks
Mike Stewart Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 Agostini said that the difference between the oval and round mufflers is just that, oval and round. There is no difference in performance or sound. The internal parts are the same. It is just cosmetics. I still bought the ovals. Mike Stewart
Guest marcialc Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 i'm considering purchasing one of these, so any help will be much appreciated... fbf carbon oval vs mistral carbon oval???? what are the differences other than $$$. anyone know which ones are louder? performance difference? thanks...
