Nicholr Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Hi all, Sorry if this has been covered but after much searching and some follow up I have been unsuccessful in locating a reliable option for moving my bars back and up. I have a 2002 Le mans and I want to move the bars up 1-2 inches and back 2-3 inches. I did see an article about the Two Brothers system which intially looked promising and then (according to the article) seemed to go sideways when one of the components failed with Two Brothers not being very helpful. I downloaded the Two Brothers product catalogue but could not locate the item featured. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

fotoguzzi Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I have a friend who made these, I think he would make more for about $200.
Darius Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I adapted a set of Cycle Cat risers to accomplish what you need. Unfortunately they are out of business. You may want to look into the Jean Marc made ones. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7502 Good Luck!
Dan M Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 +1 on the MPH kit. Comes with brake & clutch lines. Has an added benefit of spacing your grips about 2"-3" further apart for greater leverage.
OldButNotDead Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 http://www.convertibars.com/ Love mine. I'd guess a search on "convertibars" will return mostly
FalcoLion Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 http://www.convertibars.com/ Love mine. I'd guess a search on "convertibars" will return mostly Definitely ConvertiBars. Got them on mine and love them. By the way I also sell them Convertibars
Nicholr Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 Absolutely no offence intended and thanks for the tip BUT, they are kinda ugly. Are they purtier in person ??
fotoguzzi Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Absolutely no offence intended and thanks for the tip BUT, they are kinda ugly. Are they purtier in person ?? agreed/ the comfort obtained might make up for that?
rocker59 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 agreed/ the comfort obtained might make up for that? you could always drill your upper triple clamp and add a bar clamp and standard tubular bars. real sano, and you'd have lots of choices of bar bends.
Steve G. Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I've got the MPH risers. Two things prevent this kit from rising to perfection, 1, they are indeed ugly, 2, the kit does not come with an extended throttle cable, on the pre 2002 V11 Sports, this is much needed. Other than that, it's a great comfort thing for oldsters like me. Steve
OldButNotDead Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 agreed/ the comfort obtained might make up for that? I wouldn't call the Convertibars ugly; utilitarian maybe? It's the functional flexibility that does it for me - far outweighs consideration of appearance. I agree that if you want a more upright (though largely non-adjustable) posture, a handlebar would be a nicer look. Converting via Ballabio or Cafe Sport bits is doable.
waspp Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I don't know if they are still available but I got these from Jean Marc "zebulon" on this board. They are excellent quality and adjustable.
Steve G. Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I don't know if they are still available but I got these from Jean Marc "zebulon" on this board. They are excellent quality and adjustable. these can only be used effectrively on post '01 models. Steve
