stewgnu Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Found this vanilla porter in Lidl's. Extremely pleasant.
Calijackalbob Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 On my 7th beer already. Wife calling from bed,...... "Peter, It's half past 3 (am)."
docc Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Make it up to her. Give her a "Pearl Necklace" . . .
Blueboarhound Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Flying Dog, that's good stuff. All their labels are done by Ralph Steadman who did the Hunter S. Thompson "Song of the Sausage Creature" art. Matter of fact they do a Gonzo Imperial Porter in honor of Thompson. 1

docc Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Man, I'm actually quite glad you're trailering your Daytona to the Spine Raid - more room for great beer (which you obviously have a taste for!)! You could earn a Special Designation . . .
Blueboarhound Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I'm bringing a case of something, just not sure what it'll be.
docc Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'm bringing a case of something, just not sure what it'll be. Wait . . . what? In the 2012 SSR Tech Session we demonstrated the technique for carrying a full case of ale in the Tekno panniers. Brilliant! (til your early subframe tabs come from together! ) I figure a proper Daytona tow rig should be able to haul an entire keg, perhaps even a vat . . .
Blueboarhound Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I saw that, unfortunately no panniers on the Daytona.
docc Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 That's kinda painful after dong the best possible at the SSR . . . Best ale there? What, maybe Delaware's DogFishHead 60 Minute IPA? Georgia's Red Hare Long Day Lager? Hopes of trailered-in stouts and porters dwindled with the descending fog . . .
Blueboarhound Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 It's a good thing too otherwise Tim and I would have just called it a day and just started drinking after MapQuest f*cked us..... Next year I'll supply the libations for the fireside lies.

Steinbeck could not have been more prophetic. Brilliant! Märzen-style Octoberfest biers are amongst us now!
