sctt2525 Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I couldn't resist one more pic. My "Ruby" Thanks, Docc for keeping the raid together. What a great group of folks. 1 1
docc Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Wow, Scott, that is gorgeous. I love those falls. I think, now, the Spine Raid is a thing of its own, with or without me: South'n Spine Raid The weekend after Labor Day/ Tellico Plains, Tennessee ("Show Up, Plan Your Own Route")
Bill Hagan Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 With or without you? OK, I think I know a good taxidermist, so rest easy, as you'll always be with us. Bill
footgoose Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I couldn't resist one more pic. My "Ruby" Thanks, Docc for keeping the raid together. What a great group of folks. Good to meet you And Ruby, Scott. Stunning Billabio up close. Post one of 'the flag' if you have it. I loved it.
Bill Hagan Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I couldn't resist one more pic. My "Ruby" Thanks, Docc for keeping the raid together. What a great group of folks. Good to meet you And Ruby, Scott. Stunning Billabio up close. Post one of 'the flag' if you have it. I loved it. One was in my slideshow ... https://bill-and-kathi.smugmug.com/SSR-Sep-2016/n-vNJcCf/ I think I have one, too, from a (much) earlier SSR. Will look. Bill
Bill Hagan Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Found it: Also found slideshow from that SSR of 2006! Sure miss my Ballabio, but seeing Scott's grand one is a nice reminder of the joy that machine brought me. http://tinyurl.com/2006-SSR [fixed ... I think. ] Bill
docc Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Still not a single pic of the inaugural 2004 SSR?
Bill Hagan Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Still not a single pic of the inaugural 2004 SSR? Dunno. Working that. Here, however, (if I didn't screw it up) is 2007: http://tinyurl.com/z349qwf/2007 SSR If any of those pix sing for you, you may wish to save 'em while they are "alive." Fixing the 2006 url "as we speak." [now fixed, http://tinyurl.com/2006-SSR] Bill
JRD Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Inaugural in 2004? Geeze weren't they still using tin plates for the pictures back in those days? :-) Did you guys every think that some day you would be viewed as an "institution"? No I don't mean institutionalized, although...... Cant thank you enough for organizing and continuing to keep this event going all these years.
docc Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Haha, right? The there is a curious mix of factors that have created the situation that there are no pictures of SSR One. That was the first year of my transition to digital photography and lost two years of pictures in a classic PC crash. Bill has a shoebox of Kodak prints somewhere in his analog archive he is promising to ferret out. Then there is the whole plausible deniability thing . . .
docc Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Next up: Spine Raids where anyone can gather their V11 and compare notes, share secrets, and generally hob-nob/ cohort/ and otherwise hang out: Surfin' Spine Raid / Southern California ? (Up-East) Spine Raid / Pennsylvania ? Wervelkolom Raid Nederland ? think tinker ride share 1
Blueboarhound Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Jake and Josh seem to have the best vantage point.....
docc Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Nothing, but nothing, was going to be left unseen!
