Guest Jeff in Ohio Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 I sprayed a flat panel this weekend with Harley Davidson Texture Black Paint. Overall, the match is not bad. It is slightly flatter than the transmission. The paint does get 'fuzzier' the more coates you apply based on my experience doing some KZ900 parts with it. Looks like a viable solution for thos that want to knock off all the old crap and re-spray it black. Proably a dremel with wire wheels and snading flap wheels would work well for removing all the olf bubbly stuff. Or....apint stripper. Most wrinkle blacks are shiny and wrinkly while this is flatter and fuzzy. Go back and find the message from John T showing the match between his new case and transmission. This is as close as his I think......
Guest John T Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 That looks great! I would put a few more coats on to match the tranny better, then I would spray S100 engine brightener on it to give it a little shine. I love it when people fix things easy and cheap.
