  1. Sharing info. Was lucky enough to get a 01 Greenie this summer. She had PC 111 installed, and was like a bomb compared to my 03 Rosso Corsa. Did the usual going thru, tuning and som electric upgrades . Idling v good, and VERY good trottle response,,,,nice, but but. PC removed and Co set to 0. Still amazing trottle response. Have a Tomaselli quick trottle handle,,, but but ?? Shoud'nt have an alu flywheel the Greenie's. Carillo rods ?? Balanced and lightened crank ?? Any headwork done ?? Or lucky with the original heads ?? Another cam ,,, titanium push rods ??. My 03 Rosso Corsa idling all very good, and revs all the way happy, but no quick response like the Greenie ? All this said, I had a quick trip to see the brain doctor, so both my ECUs now has the same map. Did I belive they shoud act the same way now,,, more or less I thought. No the Greenie is quicker. I know I have to tune both trottle body's, Meinolf's way, but that's only fine tuning.... Did around 30miles with both, but got a quick feeling they are both fed well from idling to 8000 + Balancing is spring work,, the misses said something about 20inch'es of that B white shit tomorrow at 1000ft. Wondering keeps me busy Cheers tom.

  2. What a sweetheart.... loved the V11 before, and love it more now. Yes, my left foot is still buzzing, and I have the other aches associated with getting older and being on a machine not as conducive to long distance comfort as my other machines, but she pushes the right buttons. finished work stuff today an hour or so early and headed out in the brutal Texas heat (for someone no longer used to it... others can scoff at my whining....there was a time when I didn’t mind it so much when i was more accustomed to spending large parts of each year in hot climates, but not any more). Up highway 287, beating my way toward Santa Fe, but in middle nowheresville Texas tonight (all due respect to any north Texans who call this home), pulling off the highway when the sun went down. tomorrow a long but not too painful day to Santa Fe, and looking at some possible alternate routes toward the last part (sena, NM?) to break up the super-slab grind. Next day will be a fun one, winding my way on a shorter day up to Durango via some fun backroads (chama, and/or Taos, pagosa springs) then to brothers house in Durango. Next day million dollar highway, Moab, etc. Need to get some miles on this underutilized tart, to work on catching up with all u guzzi high-milers.

  4. Some Scurra bikes had the exploding single plate clutch flywheel ... I'd want to be sure it had a two friction plate clutch.

  5. Better go for these. Getting a screwed V11 straight is always possible, but it's not always the best basis for a lasting affair. In case you were the hot guy for such a nonbiased affair you would have made her yours before showing up here and asking questions about her. Really, it wouldn't be the best start. I got a similar bike from Italy, cheap, 5 previous owners, it took me 3 years to build up confidence. And that after nearly 40 years of Guzzi.

  6. I always thought those late ‘60’s/early ‘70’s Norton were pretty sweet. The 70’s was a great era for bikes: the LeMans, the Commando, those huge Laverdas. Now that I’m on the road to getting this V11, I’ve been looking around and there are two other V11’s available in my area, both minty clean, low miles, and from solid owners who have taken good care of them and seem know what they’re doing: a 2001 GREEN V11 Sport (mint), and a 2002 Scura from the run of 600 Scuras (also very mint). Of course these bikes would cost me another $1,000-$1,500 respectively. I’m wondering if in the long run it will likely be a wash if these are more transparent in their history and better cared for by actual Guzzi enthusiasts, rather than the bargain priced V11 which has an unknown history except for the non-Guzzi shop replacing the main seal, which from what I am reading here was likely not the cause of the oil leak that the main seal was changed to fix. Not that I am overly concerned about that bike as it ran well and I will ride it again tomorrow. The ‘01 green Guzzi and the ‘02 Scura look pretty sweet, though.

  7. Awesome is a little generous. Serviceable is more like it.
