  1. Yes thats me, my primary track bike is a GSXR1000 K7 (2007) I use that for Phillip Island and secondary Island bike is a Ducati 1198. My 2003 Ducati 1000DS at the small and tight Broardford track. The Suzuki and the 1198 would be too much bike there. My advice is to go for a second hand Japanese 600 thats had cosmetic crash damage and fit it up with race glass, good tires and a muffler. It will be a way faster track bike than you are a rider and will take a beating with almost zero maintenance. The very last thing you want to be dealing with on a track day is doing any type of mechanical work on the bike. At most some basic suspension adjustments. You want to be totally focused on the riding and enjoying the day not the bike and the best way to do that is with a Japanese bike, plus you wont be crying if you crash it. No emotional attachment, its just a tool. Just like a pro racer:) Ciao

  2. @Vic the rack is actually part of a Hepco & Becker hard luggage rack that accommodates side cases as well (this one). If that interests you, shoot me a message and we'll see what we can figure out. @PJPR01 in my mind, the gloves and bandana go with the bike, like the valve covers and side covers. I don't think it makes sense to split off the "special" stuff, and I'm not sure why you think I'd remove the battery from the bike and sell it to you. I'm not parting out the bike. I do have a pile of dead batteries I am happy to send your way. Anyone who wants to buy parts: I think I've been pretty clear on what I'm willing to sell separately. If you want any of those items, message me with a reasonable offer. As I said above, I'm not on a timeline to sell, and it may be a while before I can find time to prioritize splitting everything apart from the bike. Quite frankly, the weird messages and demands I've gotten via private message both here and elsewhere are nearly enough to make me keep the bike, simply to avoid dealing with any more nonsense.

  3. AJ , buy a bike and then buy the green stuff. I have three fuel tanks for my 03 greenie . The original faded green , a champagne and a red tank . This only gets worse and these bikes will be the last things to go .

  7. So I received the new hose today and proceeded to remove the perished item from the bike, with the gas tank in place. It was awkward but after a while I was able to remove the hose clamps and pull the rubber hose out of the engine area. Time for a beer and then to fit the new hose, I struggled for a while and then decided I need a small handed gynecologist to complete the task without removing the gas tank, I just can’t get enough leverage to push the ends of the hose onto the fittings, oh bugger

  8. I will never understand how stupid manufacturers can be . These guys will allow a Mom & Pop operation to close instead of working with them . All these idiots want a brand new store next to the interstate with $50k worth of apparel in the showroom and 12 employees selling you s**t you don't want .

  11. real daytona has complete different airbox. But daytona RS has airbox like the sport 1100i, the centy has different airbox. But that looks like the v11 sport one. In my parts list from centy en daytona RS the intake hoses have same part number, and also the part (small hose) fitting it in the airbox is the same. I just looked in my shed, and have two centy/v11 boxes, who are same size, bit not the same, one has air temp mounting top right, just under the filter. other not. I might have one more, in the garage 3 miles from home. Do not compare real daytona1000 parts thats different sure. The centy airbox was made for when engine was 10mm to the right, now it's back center, so that one is mising the 10mm alignment too. I don't know if the intake from 2v and 4v is different. But Know of a lot of 4v to 2v frame conversions, and they never mentioned it. So aren't you trying to make it to perfect? We are talking about the 10mm horizontal alignment?

  12. Going for a Greenie is okay, really, bud. You just need to know where it goes, this V11 thing. I mean, when in doubt, ask the other inmates on the ward if we're really >that < crazy . . . and start to practice your "GreenieStrut" . . .

  14. Some great pics scud (and the others who have posted!). I spent most of my life feeling the need to get away to distant places to find great riding, while ignoring the back yard. Don’t know why, just did. Then about 10-12 yrs ago finally woke up to the unbelievable riding heaven here in my back yard, the NW and more widely the western US. Time is short with so much work, so took to starting to buy bikes and leave them spread around a bit, making it easier to maximize the free time riding where i wanted to ride (airline there and back, or at least 1-way), and less time on the super slab. I “discovered” some of the magnificent routes you’ve shown some of along the west end, bringing a Gran Canyon back from SoCal a few yrs back. I actually lived in SoCal for a few yrs in 90’s, but there also i was so busy with work and family that i had little clue about what lay around me. Now pretty much every year i ride from the southwest (usually from Goodyear or Tucson AZ where we have some winter maintenance work done for where i work) back to Oregon via a number of the fantastic routes. So many great routes... i just generally outline the time i have, then watch the weather forecasts to see what route might be best, as its usually early shoulder season and hard to say what will happen. Last spring i came up hoping to get over to Death Valley, but wind gusts to 50mph, and then heavy rain up toward the General Sherman and Sierra’s pushed me again to the west, up past Gorman, through Los Padres National forest (excellent), through Paso Robles and that little single lane paved road up toward Hollister, and so on. Always great, and a reminder that i don’t need to be in the Dolomites to find excellent riding! the KTM 990 stays in Alaska for getaway riding up there when i can, and i see there are some fellow DR riders on this thread too.... i favor the DR350 over the 650, with the 441 kit and a hot cam. My own personal preferences, which change with time and age and mood, are that most of the mid-weight bikes that are coming more into vogue again would be ideal if i was younger (i’m not old, just not young any more...), and would tolerate the lack of windscreen and hp when on the tarmac. Now i prefer something with stupid horsepower and handling when on pavement, and something easy to lift when in the dirt. The Multistrada (enduro) is a magnificent road bike, with just enough “dirt” chops to allow it to not mind un-paved roads should they come along, while the DR350 is simple, lightweight, loads of grunt, and with a 6th gear and plates can just get me from trail to trail via some tarmac without too much unpleasantness. But that 701 does sound like a sweet choice for the BDR’s..... hmm, you’ve planted (or “irrigated”) another naughty seed in my brain!

  16. I just tripped across the original post on WG where Mike Haven of MPH had listed some of the Guzzi OEM paint codes. I snagged it in a format this time, that could be re posted here so there would be a record of it in case it may help anyone, fyi Good luck Kelly Paint codes are a national secret. You wont be getting any calls back. 18. Some of it has to do with "brand placement" you know that perception strategy that your brand is funky, sexy, classy, urbane or whatever the "creatives" in the marketing department think it needs to be. They dictate what your shop layout and look needs to be etc and the demographic you're aiming at and if you dont comply they ditch you no matter how good your history as a brand representative has been . Sorry you're just not part of our overall brand strategy going forward kind of bullshit. Dont get me started, opps I already have, sorry. Ciao

  21. I wouldn't be looking for a dealer remedy. I'd be looking for an upholsterer. Corbin uses a carbon fiber emboss like that. At 200 Euro for the pad you can upholster your whole seat in NEW material or find a used one when one pops up. But Im pretty certain you can find that material. Or buy that onevon ebay.

  22. As the winter sets in and I prepare to address a few outstanding jobs on my list, get parts together for my bikes, etc, I'm also mindful of paying some of my debts. When I downloaded guzzidiag a long time ago, I wasn't sure I would ever be able to get it to work or have a need for it, so I didn't hit the donate button at the time, promising to go back at a later date. I finally used it on my Griso this summer, and once I got it fully hooked up with the proper drivers, it worked like a charm. I look forward to tuning my new to me V11Lemans with it later this winter. I recently corresponded with Beard, the "generous genius", behind guzzidiag, he's now working on ways to improve the stock guzzi ABS systems; the man obviously is very dedicated to helping us guzzi owners. Even though I couldn't seem to navigate my way back to the donation button, it was very simple to send a donation via Paypal (to a friend) to guzzidiag@gmail.com , I had to be careful when I converted to Euros, rather than my intended 100 Euros donation, I almost sent .01 Euros, apparently it's an easy mistake to make. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to everyone, ride safe and often Kelly

  24. My wifes V11 has a PC3, Mistral mufflers, high flow air filter, porting, and cylinders and heads milled to set squish / raise compression. I would like to get a cross-over for it at some point, or switch to a two into one exhaust. There are cams as well, and Mike Rich has a nice piston for it, but availability can be spotty. I don't understand the "enjoy it for what it is" mentality. I mean, I understand why some feel that way, but I don't understand why they think others should feel that way. Personally, part of the fun for me is making the bike better then it came from the factory. And there is more room for improvement with a Guzzi than there is with most other bikes. A reasonable amount of money and effort can bring noticeable gains. I have maybe two grand total spent on the wifes V11 and it is noticeably faster. In fact, it is faster than my '07 Griso. Not by a lot, but it is faster. More than that, it is more fun to ride.
