  2. Looks like a step backwards. Side plates and front support removed for painting and finish removal of the remains of the old horn/regulator bracket. I have also machined the threaded section of the regulator housing back 5mm and relieved the body to give me some comfort factor clearance wise to the TPS. The Centauro throttle cable arrived and am glad to say it fitted perfectly. Ciao

  3. Was reading one of Brad Blacks reports yesterday and came across something I didnt know. One very important thing to know about the 1.5M ECU is that it runs rich for the first 3,000 rotations every time you start the engine after turning the key or kill switch off and then on. I just thought (while typing this) that I don’t know what happens if the engine stalls and you restart it – I’ve never tested that. So best to assume it does it every time. And this is not just when it’s cold. Every time! Even when it’s hot. If you start it up and check the idle mixture quickly and it’s 5% CO after idling for 3 or so minutes (3,000 rotations at 1,100 RPM idle is about 3 minutes) the mixture will drop to maybe 1% CO or so and it’ll idle like crap. I usually allow at least 4 to 5 minutes for the mixture to settle after starting the engine. It’s very annoying when you’re in a hurry, as you have to turn the engine off then back on to initiate the setting procedure with the diagnostic tools, but that’s how it is. For the full report and hours of interesting reading...... http://www.bikeboy.org/ducati2vthrottleb.html Ciao

  4. Some Ballabio tips: There are/were/supposed to be thin rubber washers between the aluminum mount and the fairing. To preserve the fairing paint, some washers between the headlight mount bolts and the fairing are a good idea. Hardware store stuff. Also, thin rubber washers that will fit between headlight shell and fairing mount will help keep the headlight adjustment where you put it. Make sure the upper fairing mount is tight both at its lower end on the fairing stay, as well as at the windshield bolts. Some small thin rubber washers between the upper mount and the fairing/windshield bolts will help there, as well. For that matter, thin rubber washers (or a perimeter rubber strip made from a bicycle inner tube) between the windshield and the fairing will also quell some of the shakes. Speaking of the shakes... When you are dealing with a bike that has more shakes than Joe Walsh on a bender, you have to take some steps.

  6. Hello, I am a lucky man : I found the original Moto Guzzi luggage for V11, in mint condition (never used for 20 years). I mounted it on the bike...and I am very happy with the result ! I

  7. ...All that said, after having a close look at https://www.briskusa.com/ , I wouldn't hesitate to try them if the price isn't ridiculous. They seem to cover all the bases.

  8. I believe you've found it. I was at the Ohio rally a few years back. Heavy dew. (!) All packed up, ready to go, push the button, and.... nothing. Unpacked all my stuff, took out my earplugs, realized the fuel pump wasn't running, took the seat off, wiggled the relays, checked the fuses, varooom.

  9. My fairing had some buzzing when I first installed it. I added some foam door sealer around the headlight where the fairing & trim ring touch. Then 2mm neoprene pads between the supports, brackets & the fairing. That cured it for me

  10. You’re not alone brenwin - mine does that too just at some specific lower rev range that I can’t recall off the top of my head On some ride I got a bit pissed with it & a bit curious so I stuffed my little green mouldable earplugs on either side of headlight to see if it would dampen it What was meant to be a temporary fix worked out so well I just left it at that My riding buddy thinks it looks like two little radar detector probes scanning for cops ahead Seems to work at the pace we go - & those vibes are gone too You may well find a better /permanent /professional /helpful solution

  11. A cohort of brains cells on a Saturday night are on holiday, they send me greetings from the festive, secret location where they're on hiatus; it's a disappointing abrogation of responsibility. And they will be scolded on their return. But meanwhile, I'm relegated to fractional cognitive skills in their absence. Are there two components which might be culprits? I see a device on the left side of the engine block, a sending unit scrutinizing the position of the crankshaft from what I've read. I assume in dialog with the spark and injection services. The symptoms of a failed unit which are described seem consistent with my bike's malady. But a bad relay also potentially malfunctioning? Or did I misunderstand? This place is a damned encyclopedia; with way better humor. Pretty good for a Saturday night's entertainment. The brain cells will be pouting about all they missed when they return. As far as I'm concerned, they can be pouty from inside the doghouse where they'll be quarantined until they apologize for their jail break. There are rules in this funhouse.

  12. Made my day today. Hadn't ridden the Greenie in a few weeks. Started like a top, ran a minute and done. No fuel pump. Played around with fuses, then found this to pinpoint #5 relay. Contact cleaner and the old in and out, relay musical chairs and then it ran. Ran it 75 miles or so.

  13. While researching fuel mapping changes I hope to make in the near future, I stumbled across this old post. I noticed there wasn't a visible answer to the question I posed. I thought it would be a good idea to have a direct email address link here, for anyone wishing to donate to guzzidiag: guzzidiag@gmail.com I know I will forget to mention some names, but a sincere thank you to Beard, Meinolf, Paul, Beetle, Pete, Jaap, Docc etc, your knowledge and generosity has helped us guzzi owners immensely. Thank you Kelly

  14. When I had a Lemans and a Bassa that was the main fix! and after the fix I scoffed at the Power Commander as a fix.. it really made my bikes superb, smooth idle and crisp pickup off the line.. I used the old VDST .. had to partition my Mac to have a windows XP OS just for that.
