  1. Just a note. I am retired guy. I am very concerned about the Coronavirus. Yes, my hair is on fire but I'm not gonna debate it here. But it got me motivated. I am applying for volunteer status at the State Health Dept. I've learned that since 9/11 the entire nation has a volunteer emergency force (mine is the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps ). These are statewide volunteer groups to help out with any planned or unplanned events that might affect public safety. My state is #1 for Federal emergencies (per capita) and only behind TX and Cali for all emergencies. I've passed 3 of my 4 tests to participate. I have no medical skill (or mechanical skills as everyone here knows), hopefully I can work the planning, budgeting, and logistics stuff. If not, I'll pass out leaflets and clean the floors. All states have these organizations. Anyway, food for thought for all you retired guys. There are times of emergency that the paid folks can't keep up with, we're all in the same country, so no need waiting for some else to do what needs to be done. After I get some hands on, I'll tell ya straight if this a help to the world or just eyewash PR deal.

  3. All is well with those we know. That can't be said for all of Nashville, of course. These night time tornadoes are devastating, catching people totally unprepared or unalerted. We were caught in a powerful tornado path in 1998 that changed my view of weather forever. That same day, tornadoes went through Nashville on about the same course as this one. (I'm about an hour's drive south of the city.) There must be a "Tornado Alley" there as there was a 1933 event that followed very nearly that same path . . . Thanks for checking up, Nobelswood! Much appreciated!

  7. Thanks - I can't disagree with you, but then I'm somewhat biased! I knew the bike had to have a Magni as soon as I saw one (2001?) - and let's just say that importing directly from Italy to the west coast (at the time) was not exactly inexpensive ..! Having said that - dealing directly with (Giovanni) Magni at the time was actually quite fun (despite my almost non-existant Italian) - indeed this is how "Gio" got the name ...

  8. Dunno if you can get it in Oz, but KBS in Indiana makes some really great stuff. All sorts of engine and cast iron colors, Hi-temp in various colors and gloss hi-temp. Their specialty is rust neutralizing and sealing, much like POR15, but I personally think it's a bit better. Priced about like U-Pol. https://www.kbs-coatings.com/

  9. Whatever you do , make sure you do NOT damage the bore of the fork where the seal goes into the fork tube . When you install , lube everything liberally going back together . Use the be$t fluid and measure it exact when it goes together, use good towels & gloves to keep ANYTHING foreign away . Don't be upset if they leak . They will do this for about a month or two .

  10. Your Greenie is a real beauty, and such a deal, too! If I didn’t already have mine I’d be quite tempting to fly-and-ride to the Maritimes and ride that beauty back. A Green V11 with a matching Magni fairing? Try to get Magni to even answer the phone! C’mon. Hard to believe that you still have it.

  11. with the Napoleon's I've used in the past on other bikes, I have spun the mirror around on the ball to make the short side outward. depending on your personal ergos, it might work for you.

  12. In PM with another member - seems there may have been some confusion about status of the bike ... so to clarify - there has been local interest, but nothing yet confirmed ie still officially for sale It was nice enough to get out of the barn today and take a few more pics so thinking I will re-fresh the whole ad (now that some of the extras have been sold) - and so at this point : Bike (as pictured ie with Magni fitted) still available at $4750 CDN (approx US$3650) ... and with options on original bars/mirrors/Lafranconi cans (separately listed in classified section) Hope this clarifies! PS ... and to follow-up those positive thoughts/ideas from the Luciano Marabese thread - unless sold separately prior ... would consider including the stock LaFranconis to offer something along the lines of the original design he conceived of ..?

  13. FWIW, here is the set up on my V11 as purchased from the original owner. The left side CRG bar end mirror was unfortunately static drop tested in my driveway early on and survived with only some scratches, mostly hidden now with a bit of black touch up paint (the left turn signal was terminal). The newer CRG models seem to go for about one Benjamin a pair. I'm pretty happy with these mirrors, adjusted so my elbows take only about a quarter of the field of view. I wouldn't put up with the high rise stock mirrors or equivalent. (Hmmm, looks like the scooter needs a bath. )

  14. Hey, thanks, bud. So far, all I know have checked in safe. Our primary fuel distribution and (restaurant) food distribution centers are affected. Really dedicated and smart people are working non-stop to restore services. I cannot express the admiration and amazement I have for the linemen that go out in these things to restore power and communication. And the emergency personnel that spring to action and work themselves to the bone. Every time the lightning strikes and the power goes out, I think of guys I know kissing their wife and kids on the cheek in the middle of the night saying, "Gotta go, y'all. Be right back." Firefighters I know sating, "Sorry I'm late, I was saving lives." Pull together. Be strong. Make a difference. (Thanks for asking!)

  16. See? That is totally bad-ass. Red, and everything. "Wires up to 4AWG" . . . that's like welding cables, yeah?

  17. Last night while riding my Scura on the highway the charge light came on and about minute or so later the bike died. I coasted to a stop on the side of the road. No tools, light, or tech info. Called tow truck and brought the bike home. I'm hoping it's just this 30A fuse issue. Tomorrow morning I will check it out and report back. In the less than 2000 miles I have owned this bike, this is the second breakdown. The first was broken shift spring. Not too thrilled...
