  1. Something interesting I found for those that experience AN fitting leaks such as the oil cooler fittings due to damage (not cracking) Ciao

  4. Yesterday this was written on the dutch Guzzi forum: Unfortunately, Paul has a relapse. That sucks but it does happen to almost every patient, right now in the process (between 5 and 7 days in the ICU). He now lies on his stomach with more ventilation and more sleeping medicines, and he responds well to that. We now have to wait and see when he gets better, that can take a few days. The inflammatory values in his blood do improve so that is good news. The doctors are still satisfied with his condition. It's all terribly worrying and unfortunately not over yet. I haven't seen Paul for quite some time; this really took me by surprise. Speedy recovery mate!

  7. Probably Mistral's http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=26_336&products_id=4569 or Agostini's, they look the same, ... and actually 'might' be the same. It'll be worth your while to repair the damaged one

  8. Damn. I hope he's OK. We are hunkered down here in Pennsylvania, USA. Working on the garden and I hope to build a workbench in the garage. If the rain ever stops, I'll get the bikes washed and do some maintenance. My girlfriend has asthma and I've recently had a bout of neutropenia so we're both trying to be quite careful. We've been exercising daily and I've given up beer for liquor in an effort to lose weight. I'm down to my last jar of genuine West Virginia moonshine though so I'll have to make it last.

  11. Yes I've bought quite a few Dayton engine parts from Paul and was about to ask him for any EFI mapping files and info for the V11/Daytona project. Always helpful and willing to share. Hopefully he recovers ok from this horrid disease along with others affected. The nicest part of the motorcycling community for me has always been the terrific people it brings you together with. The riding and wrenching are just the side benefits. Ciao

  12. Yup, really good bloke. I met him in Mandello at the 95th. He's the tall thin, better looking one.

  13. That balance should be fine for a mechanical starting point, but surely you have some sort of vacuum synching device (Mercury sticks, TwinMax, or such . . .) to fine tune the synch? Critical to baseline the TPS. This sets the map in the ECU to the actual, mechanical throttle plate opening. 157mV with the throttle plate entirely closed (No right side idle stop screw, linkage disconnected, high idle cam released, clean throttle bore).

  14. OP here... sorry to be so useless, the seller seems to be forward/honest, not your typical CL'er and genuinely love bikes, but not too schooled in all things Guzzi. The bike's cosmetics are a bit rough, but the price reflects that. For someone willing to devote the time and resources necessary it might not be a bad deal...... I can't speak for the authentically of the model (the valve covers are a possible issue) but the mileage is low, the price is reasonable and I would have nibbled more had I the resources and Guzzi connections here in SoCal. If you have a particular question that I could answer, please feel free to contact me. A side note... I'm not really "useless", my wife says I'm spectacular at holding up the wall while drinking beer,

  15. Why shut the manual tap off at all? mine stays open all the time as any fuel supply to an EFI fuel pump normally does. The only reason motorcycles were ever fitted with vacuum fuel taps and the silly Guzzi electronic fuel tap was for US laws that mandated the fuel supply is isolated in the event of the fuel tank flying off in an accident and liberating from the bike. We all no doubt have seen many times fuel tanks flying accross the sky off the bike during an accident. Sometimes I cant walk the streets for fuel tanks flying about post accidents. Ciao

  16. Well, only after 175 miles of riding my V11 the right cylinder lower rod bearing decided it was time to quit his job...Made a horrible racket noise while riding. Shut the bike down, got it home and pulled the pan and found this yummy goodness. I can also reach up and move the rod bottom around unlike the left which is nice and tight. My question is, does the motor need to be dropped to pull the crank? I take it I'll have to pull the jugs and remove the pistons. Hoping I can just get the crank resurfaced if it's not too bad and scored. Ive dealt with this on other bikes but never a Guzzi. Sucks big time as the weather is turning great now! Hoping I can get this wrapped up relatively quickly. The bike was running so good too! Cheers
