Jackets and pants, they shrink over time. I've got a wardrobe full of gear thats shrunken, I'm thinking of trying to get a class action up against all these manufacturers. Ciao4 points

I'm probably in the wrong place to post this..if so..apologies..I'll figure this out soon.. Some of you probably know my bikes better than I do..at this point as both have been listed in this forum before, My "Greenie" was formerly "Scuds Greenie", and My Rosso Mandello is #49 formerly owned by Surj. Ive been riding Italian bikes over 50 years..Mostly Aprilia and Ducati..I havent owned a Moto Guzzi for 3-4 decades when I had a MK1....I Re inspired my self on MG while Riding in Italy 2 years ago and spending some time At Lake Como and in Mandello del Lario..And now I am seriously hooked on the V-11 I love these bikes and just cant get enough riding in, ..that is until this Covid 19 came along. Anyway I'm very proud to own these two bikes and be a part of this addiction ..I havnt put many miles on the RM..but have racked up a few several hundred mile rides on Greenie and she runs just flawless..Kudo's to Scud for all of his Fine work! Thanks All..I'm trying to learn as much as I can from the forum with out being too much of a PITA...lots for me to learn.!!2 points

TPS voltage affects more than just injection duration. Injection and ignition timing are also affected. See https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/17865-v11-ecu-diagnostics-and-reprogramming/&do=findComment&comment=207884 The engine is transformed from smooth & sweet to brutally rough if you set the TPS wrong. Try it, but be ready on the kill switch.2 points

Hello people, As my V11 and Caponord are going towards "finished" (read: reliable), and this COVID-19 has ruled out most social things as well as holidays, I've decided to start a dream of mine: build a cafe racer scrambler. The victim (and thus my 3rd bike) is a V65 Florida with 45.000km. She runs fine, but is in need to TLC (and stripping). Oh and yes, that guy is me I'll probably mostly use this topic for the build progress (it will be multi-year project) and technical questions, simply because this is one of the best forums in the world! So far I've done a little tune-up and rode her for 150km, just for a shakedown. Question: I've worked mostly on FI bikes. This one had a stuck choke cable (in the LH carburetor), which I worked free. However, when I apply choke when she is cold, the seems to drown in fuel on the LH cylinder. I've already flushed the LH carburetor, what else can I try? Disassemble and ultrasonic bath?1 point

My 20-ish year old aerostitch road crafter jacket has now been through an “overhaul”, where I spent the price of a new, cheaper jacket to just get the trusty old stitch redone. Overall worth while. Did the same with the pants a while back, and they came out perfect, but not so much with the jacket. Velcro still isn’t right (when “tightening” things up when it gets cold), zipper now creeps down from wind force which is really annoying (almost impossible to zip it back up if it gets too far down while riding at speed), and some other little issues that are annoying me. All fine, but on the hunt for a new jacket. Boy was I surprised to see what a lot of higher end jackets sell for now! I used to think aerostitch was the expensive end of things... I heard and have experienced a bit of how Dainese can fit skinny guys like me, so ordered two jackets to try. Both were ok fits, but at those prices they need to be perfect(I think one was $450 and one was $800. Of course the $800 jacket fit better... but I looked like a stormtrooper). And I know now that jackets can get even way more spendy than that. So am on the casual lookout for the elusive “perfect jacket”, rarely seen in the wild, but purported to exist. Can vent, be mostly water proof (dont need 100%, as that’s fiction, and I carry a slicker/pullover for real rain), longer length so it doesn’t crawl up my back, good neck closure, does NOT use a zip in liner (hate those), and skinny/tall man fit. Basically the roadcrafter, but hopefully lighter weight.... I’ve grown lazy and weary of packing that stitch all over when I travel... it needs its own suitcase!1 point

I could see owning a Triumph. But I don't. I think our Guzzi's keep attracting more Guzzi's, so there isn't really room for a Triumph. Otherwise I probably would own one. But these dang Guzzi's keep showing up and hogging all the room in my garage..... I could see owning either a Triumph twin like in the OP or a Triumph triple. I am partial to the smaller triple. What a glorious sound, three cylinders and all that rpm....1 point

Excellent. Took out for a good test run today as the sun came out... glorious spring day. She ran like a proper Italian... very sweet. For the first couple minutes, I did my usual nit picking, wondering about what’s wrong, then realized that she was really running great, and to embrace it. I’ll probably play a little with the low/idle rpm TBS using the air screws, and only because “why not” keep fussing with it, but I’m very happy with how she runs. I actually packed the twinmax a screwdriver with me on the long-ish test ride, thinking I’d do some ride-and-sync, but she ran sweet and the riding was too good to pull over. Still a bit of the rpm/fuelling “wandering” at lower to mid rpm, but am thinking that a Meinolf map might be the ticket there. Maybe next winter, or if life eases up on the throttle a bit this summer and allows for some time. BTW, for the record my CO trim was at +10 when i first hooked up the magic laptop. I left it there. Probably explains why she has always pullled so much better at lower rpm than Goldie. Will be plugging in Goldie next, and see where her CO trim is set...1 point

Best I can gather from all the respectable contributors is that if you really want that much more out of a V11, take off the license plate and back it up to a Roller 8 Valve. Just be willing to give up your quickie RedFrame, if ya gots one. Otherwise, the V11 can really be tuned very finely, of you are wiling to take the time and trouble.1 point

Thank you for your responses. It’s quite helpful to hear. Btw, Helimot sells the Daytona boots for around $350 USD, which seems like a pretty good price. I’ve emailed them and Helmut seems like a good guy. I know I’m supposed to stay at home as much as possible, but I can’t help but take advantage of the great traffic conditions right now and ride. Am I bad for this? It’s definitely a form a maintaining social distancing. I keep at least 2 seconds behind the vehicle in front of me!1 point

G'day I wear a pair of Daytona Roadstar GTX Pro boots. Yep they are pricy about $600 Australian $ I think from memory about 4 years ago. I'm pretty happy with them and reckon they'll see me out. Mine are a size 9 ( or 42 euro ) no mention of any narrow or wide fitting though. I bought them from the Oz importer and tried them on at purchase. I have a narrow foot size anyway and euro sizing works for me but I think I would have bought a 9 and a half if they had it in stock. They are a snug fit and are FANTASTIC once you've BROKEN THEM IN ! It took me about 12 months or more to do so, so be prepared for that. They are extremely well made and tough ( hence the long break in period ) and are what they claim to be! Money well spent I reckon! Cheers Guzzler1 point

I have some Sidi Touring boots that have replaced Guzzi boots. Both are good. I just replaced the soles on the Guzzi boots and a local shop had Sidi for half price in my size.1 point

The Daytonas look like excellent products, if spendy. No personal knowledge of them, though. I'm on my second pair of Alpinestar boots having been impressed with the first pair. A little lighter duty than swooshdave's . . . https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-web-gore-tex-boots1 point

I have some Alpinestar boots. Waterproof (although I’m not sure if I’ve tested them) and very comfortable. And reasonably priced. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-roam-2-wp-boots1 point

I love the greenie..I swear that bike has a personality of its own...everytime I start looking at my other bikes it draws me back.....I've been changing a few more fasteners..just little ones that had a little tarnish with age ..and at some point here I'm going to service the steering head bearings like you recommended Scud..but other wise I am not changing a thing..I did all the fluids, gear oils, motor oils, etc..and used the paint you recommended in your blog to clean up and refinish the Pan ( matched perfectly imo,) and I tried 4 different types of Rizoma mirrors on her that I had here..but every time I went right back to these chrome Napoleon's you put on......they just seem to suit the look of this bike..they will stay now.1 point

One tooth is, what, like 5º ? Or more like 10º ? (not sure how many splines there are on the shaft mate-up . . . ) If the shaft is one tooth off, can that be easily seen with the bike fully assembled? More importantly, with just one tooth off, will the rhinoceros feel quite that frosty? Twenty splines, 360 degrees. 16* per spline. It's easily visible and you should be able to sight I by setting the back one up and then lying down behind the bike and squizzing up towards the front yokes.1 point

If misaligned the driveshaft will wind up and down like a big torsion spring puting high loads on the splines and pinions in the transmission but also loading and unloading the reaction rod making the suspension incapable of working correctly! The forces are quite high. I've seen the splined part of a bevelbox pinion twisted off by them after a long period of misalignment! Pete1 point
