  1. Your 100% right on that docc...I had read Scuds complete Build thread weeks before I even knew the bike was available..In fact the same day I was on my way to buy a Lemans in the Bay Area someone in Carlsbad who I knew from Aprilia's told me Scuds Bike was available, I cancelled the other purchase and bought a plane ticket to San Diego with in 1 hour and I flew in the next morning with the cash..then left immediately and rode it 450 miles home with-out a hitch...ALL because I had read that build thread and felt like I already knew all I needed to know about the bike and its history...and I was right!! I still use Scuds thread for reference when working on the bike!!!!

  3. i'll keep using my aerostitch, probably forever, while i make it an ongoing hobby to continue to look for the ultimate riding jacket (for me). That unicorn may never be found, or who knows.... but the Stitch will remain my well-used, tired looking, heavy, aging riding companion. But in a moment of weakness (or ?) i picked up the relatively cheap Sedici Garda jacket a few weeks back, a new model for them (cycle gear). Haven't been a Sedici fan in the past... just didn't have anything that interested or fit me. But the Garda jacket seemed to both fit me for the most part (odd, as most popular and marketed stuff won't fit my hunger-strike type body), and it largely fit the "mission" i had in mind for it: lighter weight, no liner to have to remove (i'll provide my own layers, thank you), supposedly water proof (which means its not, but will be ok in an occasional shower), right kinds of pockets, longer length, and doesnt' look like something from Star Wars. oh, and its affordable. and has the cycle gear warranty, which has always seemed pretty good here at my local store. rode with it for the first time last weekend, and so far so good. prefer more back armor, but will chew on that option. oh, and don't like the velcro closures on the wrists. Velcro just wears out. but at the price, it doesn't need to be a "forever" jacket.

  4. Could you please try again to upload? According to tech support, the problem is solved.

  5. Tinus, I would contact Beetle. He will likely have a map for that. You might search here or on Wild Guzzi to contact him. The other possibility might be to get a Power Commander.

  8. Oh, bugger. It's idling over 1000 on the tacho, haven't checked in GuzziDiag. Might have to go over this again.... Have I invented a new procedure, BTW? 😉 Thanks for all your help. In case anyone else is in despair and reads this, here are some things of note.... Things that were compounding the problem: Jammed up white knob and sync rod thread would not allow easy adjustment to get rod on the ball joint without putting something else out of adjustment. Fast idle had somehow crept in after setting idle screws, nudging the right throttle more open before attaching rod, make sure it doesn't nip up the throttle when tightening back up. Possible exhaust leaks. An ECU map that was richer than standard, making the left cylinder (which nearly closed) too rich at idle, therefore sooty. Possible air leaks around perished rubber intake. P.S. I saved myself £90 as well, which is how much a Guzzi specialist had quoted for a TPS reset, and I wouldn't have had the satisfaction of knowing I had done it myself, and knowing how everything was set.

  9. Reserved a room at the inn and a garage space. Seems that adds up to three "guests" including the Sport. Makes me proud she is considered a guest of her own!

  10. Yer wading into "bland and pasty" talk, there buddy . . . Let me try and pull this out before my flywheel cracks . . . The Sport's shadow, alone, in this image, is worth a toast. Here is to all-y'all!

  12. I love my Tekno soft bags and Stucchi flyscreen that were original Moto Guzzi accessories for the Sport. The faring is still available from Stucchi, unpainted but with mounts. The panniers come up from time to time here or ebay. The 2nd generation have better braced mounts and the bags look more reinforced. The backroads I like make a mounted GPS very helpful for sport-touring. I will probably replace my 12 year old (!) Garmin Zumo 550 with their latest motorcycle unit before my next trip. I'm good for 250-300 mile days of good twisties, still . What a sweetheart of a bike!

  13. I seriously thought some reliable folks said the nut loads the stem bearings. The clamping is secondary. I would absolutely not ride without this stem top nut in place.
