  1. After almost 2 years of searching for a good low-mileage one, my Le Mans arrived yesterday! Bone stock, and only 12k miles. Thanks to Qtip for responding to my WTB ad. Already have the carbon fiber Mistrals ready to install today!

  2. Today I finished the new motor transplant and took it for a nice long spin! Fresh oil lines and a sweet new roper plate

  3. No need to go the hassle /expense of dual plugs on the V11 Tomchri. (As an aside - physical improvement of the combustion chamber. Mike Rich’s MRM HiComp matching beveled pistons have a flatter/wider dome - lessening impedance to flame front & matched slanted squish turbulence). Returning to the main point of ignition - & more fundamentally open to the possibilities of building a better mousetrap... as you know dual plugs improve ignition by having two sources. There’s less acceptance however that a single ignition source cannot also offer vast improvements. I’ve not stopped at the Multi-Sparks (brilliant as they’ve been) - I’ve recently been further experimenting with pre-chamber TJI combustion. Do a little research on Turbulent Jet Ignition - as first introduced by Mercedes in F1 a few years ago. Mercedes was recognised as having dominated with more power & increased economy. Initially thought to be cheating - then subsequently adopted by the other teams like Ferrari & Renault you’ll find there are other easier options to increase the combustion chamber flame speed on V11’s. As a side-note, unfortunately my earlier suggestion of the Brisk LR12ZS Multi-Sparks may have aggravated some old raw nerves as gstallons indicated. However, to be even handed I’ve used the stock NGK - they work. But I’ve also tried Brisk Multisparks - and my V11 absolutely performs better. If anyone has used both - then fair enough, go ahead and agree or disagree as befits the results. I’d previously read plenty on Beemer forums with sea-dogs opining Brisk’s are snake-oil until I just paid my monies to find out the merits of the vigorous back & forth discussions. Glad I did. Not all combustion sparks are equal! ⚡️⚡️

  4. Well everyone, glad to report the V11 is back on the road and kicking ass! I got the new motor put in yesterday and wrapped up all the small things today. I installed a new Roper Plate (very sweet by the way @Pressureangle) highly recommended and a very easy install when the motor is out of the frame and flipped upside down I put roughly 30 miles on it today and nothing but smiles, had to stop and get some beauty shots. A short backstory, this bike was wrecked and was pretty gnarly. I refinished the gas tank, made a new subframe, new headlight and control area. New bars, grips, bar end signals, new digital speedo among other things. Then the motor went, so bought a new/used one on eBay with 3000 miles, went through it and tossed it into the beast and here we are! Now, my V11 may not be everyones taste which I totally get but wanted to turn it into a sweet rugged machine, something to match with the grunt of the motor. It is by no means a Scrambler but has a vibe as such, it's a pavement only bike but the knobby tires really handle well on the street. I can still carve the curves and hit the highway with no issues. I don't ever ride in the rain so went with POD filters and no rear fender so no one complains about that... Anyways, got the bike back together and want to thank you all for the help with my questions and the wealth of info this forum contributes! Pics posted below

  5. Your mum's old electric kettle was chromed to keep the heat in. We all know a matt black surface will give off heat well, a polished surface will help to keep it in so not so good for an aircooled engined. I have to admit I have polished my 850T3 covers, the look lovely and have caused no problem.

  6. I always forget that the "weekend after Labor Day" is, technically, still summer. Gonna miss y'all, Chuck! Already looks like a very interesting representation of SpineFrames in the mix. I used to think we should plan on some sort of interesting TechSession, but learned that one or more or our Guzzi already have TechSessions in store for us . . . Hence our adopted motto: Get there. Bring tools.

  7. I came across these ,and wondered if anyone has used them, they seem like a great idea. I guess they have been around for a while, but I hadn't heard of them till yesterday. Think I'll give them a try, but I was wondering if anyone else has had any luck with them. Thanks for any input.

  8. Hi docc No these are the originals that I tested and posted up. The Ducati coils have yet to arrive. Not holding my breath judging by the state of both US and UK postal services Hoping the Ducati coils will be identical they are the same Marelli BAE 850AK as used by Guzzi

  10. That looks great! Streets ahead of a lot of the awkward-looking custom v11’s I’ve seen over the years.

  13. Radical! And, being an '04 motor, it'll stay black instead of morphing into 101 Dalmatians.

  14. Hmm . . . a SmartGuzzi? Pretty sure I'll have to keep using my voltmeter. Someone asked me how long a PC545 should take to drop from charge termination to 100% (12.84v), then to the 85% (12.65v) threshold to recharge. I just terminated my Sport's 6 year old PC545 (not the ten year old in swampee-the-test-bed) from the EnerSys 6amp Ultimizer at 13.56 volt "float" after a discharge/charge session a couple days ago. I consider this a strong AGM, even serving the Sport six years. Perhaps the drop intervals will be helpful to those trying to assess the strength of theirs. I could not imagine running a V11 reliably, long term, without a quality DVOM.

  15. Yes John that looks correct for the non US Swiss and Singapore RS. The manual is hopeless and shows wrong images ( turn crank to 49 before BDC and actually shows After BDC) and text mixing up inlet and exhaust. Ciao

  17. I had a 1 second or so solid light on hard accelerations on the level before. No sign of it now even on mountain twisties.
