  1. Hello, Just a quick note for anyone looking for a replacement rubber fuel cap gasket, for V11 models using the Zadi fuel cap. My 2004 V11 LeMans Cora Nero has a Zadi fuel cap. The cast aluminum base of the fuel cap assembly also says 'Acerbis' on the casting. The rubber ring that seals the cap was missing, allowing fuel to seep out through the closed cap when the tank was full...a nuisance to say the least. I learned Moto Guzzi does not list this part separately, they only list the entire fuel cap assembly...if you can get it, for many hundreds of $$. Some determined digging found an aftermarket rubber gasket made to fit Zadi caps, but all the listings I found for it do NOT mention fitting Guzzis, only Aprilia or Triumph or KTM models. Based on photographs, the caps looked just like my Guzzi, so I took a chance and ordered one. I am very happy to say this IS the correct part, it fit my fuel cap perfectly, and solved the problem instantly. Easy to install. Here is the link for a USA-based Pacific Northwest supplier: https://bestrestproducts.com/shop/guglatech-fuel-and-air-filters/guglatech-ktm/ktm-triumph-fuel-cap-gasket-zadi-key-cap-guglatech-mrt091/ Here is the link to the manufacturer in Italy: https://www.guglatech.com/en/?post_type=product&wrls_search_in=title%2Cdescription%2Ccontent%2Csku&s=MRT091 Here is a link to some pics, helping me determine it looks the same as the Guzzi cap: https://tinyurl.com/yc3jmrsh I hope this helps somebody else, and saves a bunch of searching!! Happy trails, Doug

  4. From a 2003 V11 Le Mans with 12k miles. These are in good working condition and no dents. There is a small rash mark on the right side one as shown in the photo. $60 for the pair plus $35 shipping within the continental US (sorry, but it will cost at least that given weight and length). I will consider just selling one if that's all you need.

  5. Well, I'm not finding the thread I as thinking of. When my clutch failed to disengage, I found the gearbox input hub had loosened from a failed safety washer:

  7. The deal on Ben Harper, I'd never heard of the guy. My wife is a retired English teacher and a student gave her a mix CD(20 years ago?) . It's just great. The CD had "Mama's Girl Friend" and "Rodney King". It was all roots/folks. Later I'd seen his rock and blues stuff. I was just talking to my wife today and said that I can categorize his music in two words. She said what is it? I said, "Ben Harper". I need to get his blues and rock stuff. What a great human being and great musician.

  10. Dunno what all the hating is about. All the CARC system does is enclose the reactive system inside the swingarm and bevelbox. It is lighter and more compact than the exposed system used on the V11's and the rising rate suspension linkage makes the suspension more subtle and supple than the simple cantilever system used on the Spineys. It does have its downsides in that it is longer overall than the Spiney set up which contributes to the very long wheelbase of the CARC models but really, I'd defy anyone to ride a well mapped 8V, especially a Griso, and come away saying it was anodyne and 'Characterless'. Each to their own.

  11. Oh, yeah, I remember when my pre-CARC driveshaft took on its own personality . . .

  13. Ok, I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations are up. Wayne posted about this last winter, so I'm no longer sworn to secrecy. When the Daytona/Centauro etc. engines were certified, Guzzi, in their inimitable way screwed up and used the wrong chip. It was way too expensive to go through the certification process again, so they sent correct chips to Will on the west coast, Wayne Orwig on the east coast, and Karsten (from memory) in Germany. These were well known Guzzi Guys with electronic experience. They modified the chips and sent them all over the world. Naturally the epa, et al would have blown a gasket if known. (whistling) Will had a Daytona RS that he used to improve Guzzi's baseline chip, so I would expect he would know what you need. I would imagine Wayne could still burn you one, too. Probably it is still not general knowledge, though..

  14. I’d like to thank all that replied, the noise I’m hearing does appear to go away after a couple of quick clutch lever “flicks”. It’s hard to tell if it quiets down when increasing revs slightly as overall clatter, exhaust tone, and my poor hearing discrimination blend all together. Thanks for reducing my anxiety level down to near normal. Now to go for a ride, it’s 70f and sunny.

  15. Got license plates yesterday, new Pirelly Angel GT and new front bearings on the Greenie. PO di'nt like corner's, plenty of meat left on the Dunlops, but flat like a , di'nt handle good, compared to my R Corsa with Øhlins and Pirelly GT's. Checked the frame, straitgh to my abillity, wondering about suspension , new GT's today = NICE. Will do a new sync after a trip in the mountains, first tuning Meinolf 's way, 2-3000rpm in town traffic speeds, not perfect, rest of the curve = YES. I know I mentioned it before, my Greenie felt like a bomb compared to my R Corsa , but felt more even today ??? More reports later. What a serious relationship. Still V early in the season up here, theyr'e , not going anywhere. Next week 6c and rain Yes I have another IPA. Cheers Tom Sent fra min SM-A505FN via Tapatalk

  16. One thing I learned through the years. Forum drama is f***ing stupid. But Guzzi drama is REALLY f***ing stupid. Get over it. Bury the torquewrench and put your big boy pants on (not gonna drop names but you know who you are). Folks that like these bikes find ways to make them better and the stuff works. Pick a spot to throw your money at and have at it. But the drama and the sh!t talk is just stupid. It's like watching the movie Grumpy Old Men but with Guzzis. Yep, pretty lame. Sucks the fun out of this forum thing.

  17. You know, there is a reason the "centerfold" was invented. Teasing with a tiny picture of something drop-dead gorgeous is . . . well, a tease . . .
