So my buddy Mike has been filming a series of interviews at his Cul De Sac. It's a way to socially distance and still get a motorcycle fix during this wee pandemic. It's mostly British bikes because, well, that's what his channel is about but that doesn't mean there can't be some diversity. Some of his viewers have been clamoring for some Guzzis so I rounded up my friend Terry and gave them a double dose. Hello All, New to the forum. I've kept my eye open for a clean V11 since selling a Thruxton R a few months back. Well I got lucky and found this beauty in Phoenix. It just arrived to my home in Central Oregon and I couldn't be happier. She parks right next to her Griso brother in the garage:). A few questions: 1.) Any idea who makes this rack? Guzzi? 2.) Any suggestions for a tasteful tail bag to attach to the rack? 3.) Any tricks to fix the tripmeter (it's way off, maybe tracks 1/3rd of the mileage I ride)? I'm looking forward to being part of the community. I got the Guzzi obsession in 2010 when I purchased my first Guzzi from AF1 in Austin - a 2007 Griso. I regretfully sold it a few years later only to purchase a newer 8v Griso with a V7 in between. I have learned my lesson and will never be Guzzi-less again. I currently have a Griso, Vstrom and now this V11 in the garage. Thanks, Chris

Tomorrow I hope to get the rear wheel back on. Roller bearing seems okay. Cleaning and greasing the wheel spindle, roller bearing and spacers. Changing the gear oil. Other things to consider? What I have done so far: Oil Pan is glass bead blasted, painted and back in place. New gasket, oil filter, and bolts. New rear tyre. Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT. New NGK spark plugs. All relays are replaced with Omrons. Relay block is cleaned with electro cleaner. The spliced and old breather pipe from crankcase are replaced. The rusty battery holder is re-mounted after sanding and painting. Burned 30A fuse/fuse-holder replaced with Tyco 30A breaker. The unoriginal and stiff intake rubbers are replaced. Fuel filter and fuel hoses are replaced. Throttle bodies are cleaned and re-mounted. Partly cleaned in my ultrasonic cleaner with kerosene and manually with brake cleaner. The defective electric petcock is replaced with a manual type. External ground (1,5mm2) to voltage regulator is replaced with new (10mm2/7 AWG) New 5AWG/16mm2 wire to starter motor. Gear selector return spring is replaced. Sealing around the gear selector shaft and all bolts is replaced as well. Those yellow and loose bullet connectors from stator is removed. Wires I as oldered and put inside a glue lined heat shrink tube. Ready for WW3. Still haven't decided about air filter box vs. new, big K&N's.

So, a 4P bag? Prosciutto, Provolone, Pepperoncini, and Pellegrino?

You are comparing apples to oranges, comparing Ohlins to older tech Marzocchi's. Not to divert the thread but I am going down that road. Daviscr5, a beautiful bike ! Congratulations on snagging that one. Post up what you find as you clean it up, we'll all be interested.

Gear selector side cover remounted. New sealing and the reinforced pawl spring from @Chuck and @Scud is in place. Summer is just around the corner. As a mechanical, electrical & digital Luddite, I owe much gratitude to members of the guzzi community, from literally the 4 corners of the globe. The bikes are a special breed, most of them running in tip top order, due in large part to the community support, which is way beyond special. Tks Kelly

I thought I had a photo of the bag somewhere, but alas I don't seem to. But it is a teardrop/triangular shaped bag as I recall, with the red oval MG logo on top. It sorta matches the MG tank bag of that era, but the tail bag is much smaller... think lunch box sized Good luck.

Sorry, l didn't thank 80CX100. Thank you also sir. In reference to the tps I was able to get a smoother number transition after another go. To get it to move through the thousandths and hundredths of a volt slowly takes an extremely light hand. Especially for a heavy handed fellow like me who never learned how to twist a throttle slowly. With my new touch I may now be qualified for brain surgery. I am considering the tps as okay.

Well gstallons, you've shown up twice now to help. I now have to picture you riding up out of a rising sun astride a large , white , snorting motorcycle , with a tin badge on your chest with a big G. Nice bike Chris! But tell me, how does it compare to the Thruxton R? That Triumph I rode seemed to be the most planted and sure-footed bike I've ever been on. It made me think I should upgrade my V11 Sachs/Boge & Marzocchi suspension. Well that, and the occasional nudge from Cash1000.

Here's my little spark plug collection I keep in a glass display case in the family room along with some of my "engineering" pieces, tragic I know but it's the way I roll. Left to right......... aircraft, aircraft, aircraft, old lodge automotive with a knurled nut for the HT lead, automotive later Lodge, a Bosch and a KLG. Ciao

The rack is OEM Guzzi . Guzzi has/had a bag that attaches to it , looks beautiful and is very good. Shop around for a used one here , NOS from dealerships , then eBay or Amazon .
