Quick experience sharing again in Luigis world. Didn't make winkie lights today, but sure she is ready for a trip tomorrow,,, when sobering up. Nothing wrong with the rest of the electrical system. Relay 1 feeds that and the whole trip, did change 1 wire in the relay base, cooked down to 2 things, either ECU or cam sensor. Another faulty sensor. And my broken ones, they measure 648 and 671 when cold, zero when warm. Have a good feeling she be fine tomorrow. Only 4.10am . Cheers tom.4 points

All work performed by Exotic Car Gear I opted to have the tank lined to prevent any problems with fuel. Here are some pictures! wow this is going to be beautiful!!2 points

After a bit of climate change....I went out and tweaked on it some more. Much better fit. I removed the tail and re-installed it and it was a lot easier to get it into place. Once my new seat gets here, i know i can have the guys trim it to fit perfectly2 points

Yeah, ya gots to pay extra for "Deep Dish" . . . nothing is gonna be Thin Crust on this Scura. V V2 points

True..I do have a Tenni seat that'll be here Tuesday. I am going to take a ride down to Astech Seats to have them do their foam/gel custom sculpting thing and get that passenger part trimmed so the cover fits perfect. It does bolt up..and that's a new tail I purchased from a member here. On the bottom of the seat there are two sections on either side that slip in between the tail. I had to sand those down a wee bit, looks like I'll need to invest some time and money to get the Tenni to fit like it should. All in all not bad for initial test fitting...2 points

Well that took a fair amount of coaxing. I think I’ll leave her out in the sun and get those parts warmed up and tweak it a little more.2 points

Wot? New technology with no bulky, awkward, Luddite, analog, doubly redundant, back-up system? Where is the Moto Guzzi thinking in that?2 points

You are correct, this isn't pure carbon. I spent quite a bit of time looking into having these pieces reproduced and the set up cost alone is enough to make you cry. You would be essentially paying for one off parts. I didn't think i could even hope to recoup that money offering pieces made to order for anyone else. If money was no object then yes of course i would do it. I had even more radical ideas and this has been a very difficult endeavor. Trying to run a business and spend hours on the phone / zillion emails. So compromises are whats going to bring this to life in a reasonable time period. These are skinned. If you go to Exotic Car Gear's website you can read about how they do it. It ain't that detestable vinyl. It does add some weight, which i will counter with other lightweight components. I do have a full fairing that will be cut and fitted, I am having that copied in pure carbon once the fiberglass pieces is fitted. This is a replica Honda CB750 race fairing: That will cost $1,700 to be made in pure Carbon. Thankfully i don't have to pay for the set up. In my situation, using those dollars for other things is a better allocation of resources. The set up costs just for the tank and tail was in the multi thousands of dollars. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but you'll see what i ended up spending those dollars on.2 points

The tank I bought was listed as "used" But when i looked at it, i couldn't tell. Looked new to me and the pump still has the little plugs and ties holding everything together. I did send the tank out to be cleaned and lined to prevent that problem. I think being in a carbon fiber carapace should keep it together. The pieces are substantial. I'm waiting for a new gasket, the bolts and washers, fuel lines and new quick connects plus the new style all metal filter. I think tomorrow i will install the tail.2 points

I am pretty sure I am going NOT gonna get this . and I have squandered a lot of $ .2 points

He hasn't owned it for years and an article I read said he has had so many Moto Guzzi's he can't begin to remember them all..Moto Guzzi gives/or gave (not sure about today) him a new model every time they come out and he is /was their promotional man. Hope it makes someone Happy Though!!!1 point

If only there was a pic with Mr. McGregor. So do we call the frenetic last minute bidding the bike of the star war?1 point

I watched a "patina'd" Eldorado on ebay sit at $2750/6 bids for a couple days before 2 more bids in the last two seconds sold it at $3518.95. Curious what the last two seconds have in store for this celebrity property . . .1 point

Awesome! I will bring the Digital suspension / sag tool and we can dial in everyone's ride. I'll dig up my Ohlins spanner..should fit these shocks.1 point

Today? Well, for the past week: New front tire (#24), flushed front brakes and cleaned all eight pistons (with a new "piston removal tool" to rotate each one ), changed the overdue fork oil (learned some helpful hints from Josh ), replaced a broken fork spring , and refitted the Stucchi flyscreen to protect the Speedhuts on the S'xteenth South'n SpineRaid (seven weeks out). Time for a little shakedown ride . . .1 point

All good advice, thanks. I'm going to let the pro's figure that out. Both bikes are going to Chicago for the heart transplant. I was excited and wanted to see at least the tail on it and get an idea of how it fits. when the pump parts arrive, I'll also get that tank on. I'm going to pull the starter cover and have that remade in carbon, not skinned so if anyone would like a carbon starter cover chime in and you'll pay exactly what it costs..no mark up from me.1 point

Baglux seems to be very similar to Bagster. I have been very happy with my Bagster tank cover and tank bag that you clip on the cover. I have also used the Tekno semi-rigid panniers ( but found the (dis)mounting of the racks quite cumbersome (and it looks VERY ugly without panniers). Another alternative: a Stucci luggage rack1 point

New tech is very costly. A year or two will make it more affordable, more refined, more practical. At its current price, it cost more than 6 of my 7 bikes.1 point

Not riding on salt covered roads would help docc as would an occasional spray on the id of the eye with some protective stuff like CorrosionX to keep the water out. Maybe there isn't a fatigue issue with the original eye it's just it's not too tolerant to some maintenance and or environment stuff. Ciao Ciao1 point

Goodness me no wonder the rear eye broke, look at all that corrosion. I have one of these original shocks but have not tried to sell it because i wouldn't feel right knowing they tend to fail like this but these images have got me wondering if corrosion is a major contributor to the failures. Anyone else had failures without corrosion involved? Ciao1 point

Yes, i wanted to go with pure fiber with a liner. That proved to be cost prohibitive. So i had the tank lined by GTL Advantage. Carbon fiber is very strong, if anything it'll resist flexing. I personally don't know of anyone who's done this. Time will tell....I didn't use my Scura tank, I bought a '03 tank and will also be switching to "in tank fuel pump/filter"1 point

Lucky? Welp... I’ll remind myself of that when I’m enjoying my umpteenth bowl of white rice If I’m lucky...I’ll have them on the Moto for the trip to Tennessee. I’m hoping they won’t be as loud as my current set up. Not that I dislike the rumble...but when you are riding with a group, it can be rude unless you are in the back of the pack...1 point

Spent stupid money buying what might be the only pair of Tubi Competition mufflers available for purchase. They were fitted to G&B Supertwins and are long out of production. I love my Titanium mufflers, but these are quite special.1 point

Just wanted to share this with you. And say an extremely big thank you to the Canadian 1st Infantry Division that freed our region. I can't imagine what these boys have experienced. We won't forget. Never. https://www.gelderlander.nl/berg-en-dal/no-ceremony-but-thousands-of-tulips-to-remember-the-fallen-canadian-soldiers-in-groesbeek~abec328c/1 point

This is up my alley... So will these parts cost a kidney, spline and an eyeball? A purely carbon Scura would be just sexy.1 point
