  1. I'm not too sure about the validity of all this DNA testing. My Father in law had it done twice and there were significant differences in both tests and when he enquired as to why the testing people said that the more testing that's done the more refined their identifications are. I dont really know how this works out in practice and it seems a little odd to me but if any of you are disappointed at your results, it seems you can give it a few years or more and get a more or maybe less desirable result. Hell Scud may end up a Homo Sapien Ciao

  2. Side and rear 3/4 of the Magni are fine. But the nose...the single headlight is fine. The Sfida 1100i is just horrid from the front aspect. The point of the custom V11 Tonti is the power and torque, the 6 speed and the top level suspension components. Oh, and the taste of the owner who paid for it all. It would look lovely in my garage. Frankly, IMO the MGS-01 smacks them all down, Ghezzi & Brian included. Kevin Cameron of Cycle Magazine called the MGS-01 "impossibly beautiful." Cannot disagree. If there was a body kit that wasn't too cheesy, I would be sorely tempted.

  4. Cheers, Docc! I'm the one that ran in to Paul at the "Time Warp Tea Room" on their bike night. I'm sure I'll find my way to Tellico this weekend.

  5. I do believe that in this scenario, the clutch switch is necessary - so do try that. If it still doesn't work, then I'm with docc in suspecting either the ignition (key) switch, or the wiring in between that and the pin 30 on the starter relay. Someone correct me if I'm wrong (my earlier bike is different) but I think there may be a splice somewhere off the ignition "on" circuit and the starter relay, as that circuit does more than simply power the starter relay. If so, that splice point could be faulty as well. There may even be more than one splice point... that path seems to take a meandering route. __Jason

  6. Why would you idle for 7-8 minutes, I bet the reg was not the only thing that got really hot.

  7. I currently own a 1000ss dual plug as well as the v11. The 1000 is basically an enhancement of the carbed 900. personally I'd go for the injected 1000 like mine. I've also owned a 900 Sport in the past which was an entry level injected 900SS with less suspension and a steel swingarm .I've also owned a bunch of belt drive Ducatis from the 500 Pantah onwards in cluding a Bimota DB1 with the 750 F1 engine. Riding position is quite extreme and they are geared very tall. A lot lighter than the V11 and much more sporty fast revving better shifting bike. I use mine for track days at the tighter circuits but have also run it a few times at Phillip Island. So smoother, lighter, better shifting and for the most part easier to work on and maintain than the V11 but the riding position is far more aggressive. Surprisingly probably even more so than my 1198 or equal to at least. Ones a real world no frills sports bike and ones a Grand Tourer. Ciao

  8. Both Italian? I fired up my Ducati yesterday. It's eerily smooth although it sounds like it should shake. There is a big difference between the 90 and the 45. My brother is selling the V11 Sport (it's on eBay) as he prefers his Ducati. Having ridden his I can see the appeal. Revs to the moon and feels a lot lighter. But I'll stay with the Guzzi because it's a little rough and pudgy, like me.

  9. Dave that’s a beautiful motorcycle. One of those was my first Moto Guzzi of course it wasn’t as tasty as the one you finished . To quote the country singer George Jones “it reminds me of the one I loved back then “ thanks for sharing, great job.
