  2. Sorry my cameo appearance was shorter than usual this year. I looked for you guys at the top of the mountain after the falls. Spent the back half of the day running from the rain. Hoping next year things are back to "normal".

  3. This framed work of art goes up for grabs in a garage sale two weekends from now. Not sure about the model of the scooter, but it's got to be Italian, and the pilot sure knows how to maximize his fun! Would anyone here like to cop out to a similar riding style? Inquiring minds!

  7. doesn't hurt to have that spare. not necessarily the best cost option, for a diminishing/expiring part, but obviously nice to have on hand. I use mine to power my clay pigeon flinger :-) The MotoBatt i removed from my sons Gran Canyon did the same thing... was failing, then bike no-start, so i grabbed the bike from his place and brought it home and began an attempt at a revival process, but ultimately it also started to get hot and balloon, so i punted it and grabbed a new battery. its also an AGM, and has a similar following as the Odyssey from bike (etc) enthusiasts.

  8. ...just pulled my current plugs, they also measure .85 to .9mm (.035"). They look fine - good tan color. But that gap is 20-25% more than spec. Seems like a lot to me.

  9. Thanks Doc,thinking that way too, but may go for the cheapest option first to keep as a spare for other things. That way I can have a play with bike this week, will see.Interestingly, the bike came with a PC545 of unknown age, the two previous owners had been having major issues with no power. Putting it on charge with a smart charger, the battery looked to work fine, but kept topping up. Left it on and it nearly exploded, blew up like a football. Battery guy tells me that that would indicate a bad cell, possibly from new. The bike, which had been a non runner for three years, started right up when hooked up the the larger Odyssey out of my Cali 1100. Again, interestingly enough, I bought the Cali from a friend who had spent 1500 bucks chasing an intermittent total loss of electrical power over two years, I replaced the (red dog? mad dog ?) battery with Odyssey pc925 and it hasn't missed a beat in 20k miles.

  10. Aye. A fair mix of challenges well met. Good roads, good bikes, good friends.

  11. Hi Doc, if you read the article it explains that a small bracket needs to be fabricated to adapt the Centauro lever. This photo kind of shows the mod that is needed ,but isn't really clear. Don't think it's to tuff to fabricate. I'm getting ready to try this set up,but I'm hoping for Chuck's lever extension part to be installed at the same time, not sure how it's going to work out.

  12. There's a specific peg lowering kit for the V11's isn't there? Also I believe there's been info in the past here about converting to standard triple mounted bars which doesn't seem much of a stretch, pun intended. I'm getting a feeling that the OP really just wants a different bike, might be wrong its just a feeling in my water:) Ciao

  13. I counted eleven Guzzis, two BMW motorrad. And a Thunderbird . . . (Not all in the same place at the same time). As for SpineFrames, seven: '97 1100 Sport-i, '00 RedFrame, '02 Tenni, '02 red/grey LeMans, Sctt2525's Ballabio, and a pair of red LeMans ('03/'04) Condolences, Randy. Was very hoping to meet you. So many plans already for next year and Moto Guzzi's centesimo . . .

  15. I'm not too sure about the validity of all this DNA testing. My Father in law had it done twice and there were significant differences in both tests and when he enquired as to why the testing people said that the more testing that's done the more refined their identifications are. I dont really know how this works out in practice and it seems a little odd to me but if any of you are disappointed at your results, it seems you can give it a few years or more and get a more or maybe less desirable result. Hell Scud may end up a Homo Sapien Ciao
