  1. Caswell https://caswellplating.com/epoxy-gas-tank-sealer.html It now comes in colors. I don''t recall that being an option back then. I used clear. But Dragons Blood sounds cool. I left the tank empty for a few months, it shrank back to about original size, and I coated the inside with the Caswell gas tank coating. No issues since.

  2. I thought it was just to keep the starter warm - a "starter cozy". ๐Ÿ˜‚ __Jason

  3. Caswell's Dragon Blood was their latest product at the time, maybe still is. The bright red color helps to see coverage when you apply it. I had no bubbles on either tank.

  4. This popped up on my YouTube feed and it's a rather nicely done Tonti - well, 3/4 of a Tonti anyway, as he explains.

  5. Check out this custom build 1100 Sport Tonti: Anyone know these guys? Iโ€™ve seen pics of a few MotoNero builds, and it looks like they like putting the later V11 motors in the earlier Tonti frames. It looks like a smaller front wheel than the rear (perhaps a 17โ€ and an 18โ€?), like the LMIV set-up.

  6. One year ago I purchased this 77 Lemans. It was a nice solid unit but had a few cosmetic issues. The most serious was cosmetic damage to the fairing, instruments, and instrument housings. When I got it home I noticed that the red gear lube in the transmission was leaking from the bell housing. This gave me the incentive to give it a complete going over. Here is the summary. ENGINE The engine was partially disassembled for inspection and found to be in very good condition. Rear main seal replaced, and gave the exterior a detail. CLUTCH Replaced clutch and upgraded to the deep spline. TRANSMISSION Disassembled for inspection and found to be in good condition. Rear and front main seals replaced. Front seal had been leaking. DRIVELINE U-Joint replaced and all spline drive shaft and couplings. U-joint carrier bearing replaced. The bearing felt rough and upon removal found the inner race had 3 cracks. Rear drive spline and mating drive spline on rear wheel replaced, along with new cush rubbers. BRAKES All 3 brake rotors were refinished by TrueDisk. All brake pads replaced with "best" Brembo carbon ceramic pads. New front master cylinder rebuild kit. Brake lines replaced with black steel braided lines. MISCELLANEOUS Damaged instruments repaired by Palo Alto Speedometer Service Damaged instrument cluster housings replaced New wiring harness from Greg Bender. A thing of beauty! Fresh paint by PaintWorks. Craig did his usual amazing work including the satin black finish on the fuel tank. New exact reproduction seat from Guzzibits. All rusty hardware was zinc plated at Manner Plating (local). Fresh Avon AM 26 RoadRiders and converted to tubeless. Fork seals and many other rubber bits replaced.

  8. So it's got a shit map! Which German? Not that clown who's claiming to get 130+hp out of a flat tappet 1400? Sorry, if I can be bothered I'll go through why this is wrong, again, but there again I'm so over it I don't think I can be arsed. If you want to ride a truly 'Biggus Dickus' V11? Go and ride Chuck's Scura. First thing I did when I bought it was piss off the pod filters and reinstall the stock air box and a standard filter. Yes, it has a PC on it but at the time and with the 15M that was the 'Go To' at that time and it was obviously set up by someone who knew what they were doing and wasn't a snake oil salesman or spiv. That bike is BLOODY AWESOME and it's delivery is extraordinary from nothing to Blurp, Blurp, Blurp! Blasting across West Texas at 'Faster than F*ck' speeds was effortless, riding it in the CA Canyons was a 'Stick it in third and gun it'. The only difference between the 15M and the RC is Lambda input. Other than that it's the same ECU. If you leave the lambda on then the system will always try and trim the fuel to achieve the emissions target. Where does it do this? At operating temperature, (Above 60 degrees C.) and on a constant throttle below about 4,000-4,500 rpm! Screw about with your right wrist and it goes open loop. Above those crank speeds and below that temperature? Open loop! If it feels like it has a 'Step' in its 'Power' at 5,000 and 6,000 and you like that? That's fine. But don't for a moment convince yourself that it's running optimally. It's not. I need to go to bed.

  9. I agree with you, HP may not have been raised but the way it delivers has, it has a big hit at 5 and bigger at 6... It reminds me of a Daytona 4v Again this might be cos I lost a hole shit load down low, so it feels like more. Basicly it runs richer and timing is ulteted, it's a tune sent to me from a German guy here Yes Ron in NZ if 100 is about your 91... I'd hate to think what our 91 is in us.

  12. If you're unable to find a source for a carbon starter cover to match the rest of the carbon, then I would just omit it. Frankly, even if you DID find a carbon starter cover, I would still omit it. I never understood the purpose of this item, and to my eye, the starter cover just looks like an out-of-place bolt-on anyway. Just my 2ยข. __Jason

  19. I'd agree to an extent but wouldn't quite go so far as to say the 1100 is horrible, I'd agree it's not nearly as nice a design as the Sfida 1000. I'm at odds with how Magni's take is horrid, compared with Guzzi's on the Sporti. The Guzzi version for the UK (and I think the US), where they junked the trapazoid headlight and installed the rectangular unit was even worse. I can remember my disappointment when I purchased an early Daytona and it had that setup compared to the trapazoid in the brochures I think the Sfida 1100i looks great with the fairing added when Magni produced the Giappone, which is essentially a Sfida 1100 with USD forks, the Magni V11 exhuasts and a full fairing. I'm thinking about the fairing as a possible winter project for mine I can understand the beauty of the MGS but its never really sang out that loud to me and the input from, was it Ghezzi or Brian? is obvious. As you can see I love the Magnis and prefer the Australia design over the MGS. Perhaps it's an age thing, I'm getting on a bit and prefer curves to angular, but that's simply taste (and mine may well be up my ass) Vive la difference po18guy You do know about the Guareschci don't you? Not identical but if you were looking to have something close to an MGS for the road it's not so bad, I Iike it a lot Oh just one more to clarify Magni actually produced HiCam and an 1100 sport engines stuffed into his version of the Tonti chassis in very limited numbers. EDIT As well as a few Sfidas being stuffed into Magni's version of the Tonti I also meant to add that the Australia 92 (they were built in 2 batches in 92 and 98, as I recall) had the same tontiesque frame too. It was only the later Australia 98s that were beam/spine framed. I can't find any pictures right now but there were a few Anyway I'll get ma coat, nuff said by me
