Fitted the new carbon rear hugger and at the wifes suggestion went for a ride on a nice sunny day. Ciao8 points

A couple of years or so ago, The Kid on his carb Spot and I on the Mighty Scura spent a week hooning around the Smokies. Arrived at Wheels through time on a slow day (fortunately) and when he realized we were serious gear heads gave us an all day tour. (!) It must have been the Guzzi shirts.3 points

Perfect! yeah that 3800psi was tough to handle. I used it on a block wall basement for about 40 min and at the end I knew I'd have to sell it. It could totally be used as a weapon. Good job you rented. Now you know what size to get for any future projects. I need mine once or twice a year but when I do, it's great to have. You may be happy with the wood once it dries out. At any rate, now it's really prepped for paint or stain. I'm envious of warm and dry climates cause I love the look and feel of ...rustic2 points

Thank you, footgoose. I went to Home Depot today and rented a 2000psi gas pressure washer. Dang . That sucker kicks. Your 3800psi one must have been like wrestling an alligator! A lot of gunk got washed off and flushed out, and I feel pretty good about the cleaner state of the walls and floor. I’ll let the garage air out for a week and proceed next weekend. cheers!2 points

Guzzler & Pete Roper, I really appreciate the heads up about those two gents. I will most def check them out. A bit hesitant to take it to PS after I was talking to a Triumph rider who told me they overfilled his oil to the tune of 700mls, & their response to his complaint was basically no response. Pretty damned poor. You trust them with Precious, & it's clear that it ain't so precious to them. Cheers lads.2 points

So, the turn signals are on a different circuit. As 80CX100 says, there are suppliers that still stock them. Look at the linked post in that thread for “online components.” Swapping #2 with a minimally stressed relay like #3 might help confirm the issue, but a full set of OMRON High Current relays (G8HE) is a good move, regardless.2 points

http://www.dpguzzi.com/ Pyro Dan knows all about Guzzi relays and sells GEI which is what he thinks is the best one. Better than Omron. Anyway, get all relays for about $30 from Dan and then keep a couple of old ones for spares in the tank bag. Relays won't fix a bad connection. So clean those sockets regularly.2 points

after I lost two of them, I gave up. I could spend $20 at my fav Italian place and have enough for cheap wine. Two of them and I can take out Bev.1 point

Rule of thumb: if the knob sticks out of the left side, it's left hand thread, and vice versa.1 point

Thanks all for the guidance and link to dpguzzi. It did end up being the the relay. The 3 OMRON relays are fine and one of the two TYCO relays was the offender. I reached out to dpguzzi to order the set of 5 as having working spares on hand ensures I will never have this problem again. :-)1 point

My OEM reset knob on my '03 LeMans is in place, but has become essentially useless for resetting the trip odo. I also just received my replacement from MG, but the OEM pin does not seem to want to come out. I tried turning it clockwise (as it's reported to be reverse threaded), and just spins without backing off. I then tried counter-clockwise with the same result. It appears that whatever it is screwed into is also just turning, but without engaging the numbers dial. I guess it's time to take it apart unless someone has a simpler solution.1 point

Nice. I also like your shortened rear fender. A nicely sorted bike!1 point

Not unless it has been subject to intense sun or ozone. Most of the stuff we get these days has been on a shelf somewhere for years. Ciao1 point

when I did mine 3 years ago I ordered 2 because they are easy to fup duck. I still have the other one 'I think' what I found in my stash looks like it, but in a baggie with no number. It looks just like the one in the (MGC) photo it measures 26.30 od and 13.90 id (precision questionable) also, this pretty much has to be it cause I don't know what else it could be..? if this looks like it, I'll send it your way. I don't think a couple years on the shelf would hurt do you?1 point

G'day again I only really notice it on crappy roadworks where overbanding is present! This is where they pour new asphalt over the surface but not over the whole road ( or lane ) so that effectively the tyre can be riding on two different height surfaces. Fortunately we don't have grooved ( or much anyways ) roads here and only rears it's ugly head in the above situation so I'm not too concerned eh. They are a good sporty tyre but I may opt for a slightly slower steering tyre ( maybe ) next time? Cheers Guzzler Ps I was tempted to try the lasertec 01 but went with Angel 2 in the end because Angel 1 was sooo good. Also heard Roadsmart 3 are good ( there is a 4 now apparently!) and Contis have their fans on here also. Ha ha at the end of the day guy's we're spoilt for choice these days!!1 point

It might take some searching on here or wildguzzi, but I know I've read threads recently that there were still at least 2 suppliers that still had NOS of those Omron relays. good luck1 point

G'day mate. Welcome to the fold! Once you've got it sorted you'll love it eh. I'm no mechanic but I can highly recommend a couple of local blokes who are VERY VERY GOOD! Brad Black ( Brad the Bike Boy ) in Oakleigh is closer to you. Rob Grant ( Guzzi Repairs ) in Cranbourne. Cheers Guzzler1 point

Fitted new speedo cable at weekend. One major problem Its to short If you fit it without the odometer gear it presses against the rod that links the 2 fuel injection units which affects the idle speed I ended up fitting the odometer gear which gave me to much length so I re-routed cable under the air box Worst of all it didn't fix the the crazy speedo. Anyone want a used speedo cable. Only done 70,000 ks?0 points
