  4. Don’t complain. The last four weeks have been really cold up here. The temperature has been constant between -14 and -25 Celsius. The floor heating in the Guzzi temple is switched off. Spinning vinyl and wait for warmer days.

  10. I don't miss below zero...Living in the South West US you forget the term "winterizing." I was just on the Scura yesterday.. in the 60s here(16degrees celcius)...Optimum running temp for air cooled bikes... Feeling quite lucky while reading...

  15. I spent a few years in the South Pacific, if you can put up with the Typhoons, insects and the general malaise that comes with island living then yea...it’s great. In my opinion, living in Michigan with the four seasons makes time feel like it goes a little slower vs sunny/sunny-rainy year round. Here is a vintage picture of me earning a little side cash as “That guy on the boat” you know..”Hey grab that .... and bring it over here” type... good times.

  17. and most of us are jealous of more than just the bike... Phil's reaping the benefits of residing in a great part of the southern Hemisphere in February: Melbourne, sunny and 91 tomorrow, and saturday around 70 and sunny. My house for thursday shows high of 34 in snow, low of 23. Then cold rain next week.

  18. Another member sent me to Gutsibits and I have one on the way from the UK. Seems it they're last one or I would have gotten a spare. Perhaps, we can yet find a generic replacement that is commonly available . . .

  19. after I lost two of them, I gave up. I could spend $20 at my fav Italian place and have enough for cheap wine. Two of them and I can take out Bev.

  20. I went looking for the post where you suggested getting two because of their fup duckability. So, ordered two back in December, but just learned they remain back ordered from Piaggio. I seem to recall my other common sources showed them out of stock. Seems like such a simple part that I thought we should come up with a replacement source outside of the Piaggo network (especially for simple things that they are not stocking) for Scud's Encyclopedia of Compatible Parts. Thanks for the offer to send me your spare! I can trade you an OMRON High Zoot relay or some other contraband . . .

  21. when I did mine 3 years ago I ordered 2 because they are easy to fup duck. I still have the other one 'I think' what I found in my stash looks like it, but in a baggie with no number. It looks just like the one in the (MGC) photo it measures 26.30 od and 13.90 id (precision questionable) also, this pretty much has to be it cause I don't know what else it could be..? if this looks like it, I'll send it your way. I don't think a couple years on the shelf would hurt do you?

  23. Sheesh, bud. Hate it when "Headlight/horn/brake light" makes a guy pull his tank and go down that rabbit hole . . . All those are on a common circuit through Relay#2 . . . Here's docc beatin' that OMRON High Current Relay drum again . . . Not the first time nipples get involved and complicate things. . .

  24. No worries docc :-) The GEIs will go in and the OMRONs will serve as the backups. The one TYCO is trash and the other will go in the toolbox for "troubleshooting" duties.
