It occurred to me that if Piaggio is actually doing a major refit of the factory in Mandello, that is probably a more devoted and lasting 100 year tribute to Moto Guzzi than simply putting a new model on the market . . .3 points

Well... you could subscribe to Imgzeit and relax. About $1US/month, it is by far the best and easiest image hosting service I have seen. A certain forum member developed it, I am told.3 points

Well, no tyres to be had in Dubbo so I rode it home, gently..... Rear tyre is now as bald as a badger's arse but not down to the cords. so much win! It really was a great trip, (Appart from Greg busting himself up!) I really enjoyed it, even though a lot of the road was boring. I'm sure now that I'll enjoy touring on this rig. It gives me a great incentive to actually fix the carburetion properly!3 points

I meant to post this yesterday, but let’s just say celebrating got away from me. In fact, I’m glad Kathi’s in Alexandria with some of the grands, as some of the “rest, residue, & remainder” are still painfully with me this afternoon. Anyway, here’s a tailored version of how I spent most of yesterday in an Moto Guzzi centenary celebration … by improving the Moto Grappa. For years, I have wanted to have a concrete pad at the front. I often made fun of visiting Guzzisti who fretted about the gravel approach. But, if the truth must be known from time to time, I, too, screamed in my helmet on short final into the bay when the too-plush gravel made touchdown a bit squirrelly. So, I eventually found a local contractor willing to a small job, tho it sure isn't $mall to me! Anyway, he came today and got it all done. What a grand way to mark Moto Guzzi's 100th. Here are a few pix of that process. Before … During ... "After" Naturally, that deserved christening [you begin to see when my present condition started.]. For those who care — a small and somewhat strange lot — I’ll cobble together and post some pix of the whole interesting-to-me-anyway process for a slideshow. Oh, FWIW, while it still appears as if there is plenty of gravel leading up to that concrete apron, the remainder is about one stone thick above hardpan. I then lifted a few-too-many glasses of grappa and bourbon with folks all over the planet. Buon Anniversario! Bill2 points

https://imgzeit.com/tour I've had great results with imgzeit. My oldest son, v7cafe, developed it after PhotoBlockit crashed so much of our (and so many other forums') image content. He also helped us recover hundreds and hundreds of images they held hostage (the first time), and assisted Jaap when the forum needed a security upgrade. So, yeah, "I trust the developer."2 points

Well, it appears that you just go to their home page and click on the blue "sign-up for $11/yr" button. i did it, so i am certain that you will be able to.2 points

On the bright side, they're contemplating a new model. I'd be more optimistic toward something exciting if they had at least INCLUDED a V11 in their bloody "centenary anniversary image", a supposed evolution of the passion of the marque. FFS, when will the indifference and disrespect of the V11 Sport/LM model end?2 points

@p6x linked me to a Moto Guzzi documentary by Automotoclub Storico Italiano. It's all in Italian, but the four minute trailer is delightful! (Starts at about 7:55)2 points

Finally moving in. I left the wood natural, and taking docc’s good advice for an acid wash, gave it all a scrub with a vinegar/water/soap solution and a final rinse. It still smells like an Easter egg but I feel pretty good about the state of the old wood. I’ll put in some pegboard and bring more stuff in next week, but it’s great to finally have a workable space.2 points

Awesome. That's doing it up right.. We faced the East and a little South.. raised our very best bourbon, and sang "Happy Birthday" in 2 part harmony. (I also told Luigi he sucked.)1 point

Again, IMHO, an extraordinary, and forward thinking, celebration of the 100th anniversary to benefit Moto Guzzi, and all Guzzisti for time to come. Far more significant and forward thinking than a 100th Anniversary Sport (or LeMans) model for 2021 only, even if it takes some years to actually present that model . . .1 point

“Sarà straordinaria per tecnologia, design e prestazioni”. “It will be extraordinary in terms of technology, design and performance”. Roberto Colaninno ____________________ il Giornale.it Moto Guzzi makes 100 years, new plant in Mandello by Pierluigi Bonora March 14, 2021 Tomorrow the anniversary. Colaninno: "A moment of pride for an all-Italian excellence" And so the motorcycle manufacturer founded by Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi a century ago, ...will have as a birthday present a new production plant obviously in Mandello del Lario, the historic seat of the Museum, whose area will also be completely refurbished. ...the birthday celebrated tomorrow "represents a moment of great pride for the whole Italian industry", says Roberto Colaninno, president of Piaggio Group. G'day Folk's. I've finally got photos from the camera onto my desktop. Now when I try to post a photo from my album/hard drive it wont attach but tells me the image is over 204.8 kb so it skips it. Do you have to resize the image? And if so how do you do it? Sorry I realise this has been asked 1000's of times but I really am a luddite when it comes to this stuff. Trying to get this down pat so I can send some photos of our roads down here eh. Cheers Guzzler1 point

someone on Wild said it looked like Aprilia. I just hope it has more get up and go than anything they've sold before. And I hope I'm not so old to have enough get up and go before it ever hits the market. My guess is the Greenie will win on both counts.1 point

Heh, I saw this view and thought, "Okay, the guy's got a fridge and Workshop Manual. This is gonna be okay."1 point

From the blurry teaser(?) by proportions it looks like Aprilia's/Moto Morini's 660 parallel twin. "IF" so, are we seeing the emergence of the Italian GM (General Motorcycles)? If.1 point

Doesn't look to be a Le Mans, but there might still be some life in Mandello de Lario. https://www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/moto-guzzi-teases-new-centenary-edition-motorcycle1 point

Cool garage space ! I like the look of all the wood also. Light and plenty of it. whatever your planing double it. I can see an 8' fluorescent mounted against the "front wall" and then 1 on each of the horizontal "rafters" and finally something by the door. I have a 3 car spot and have 10 8'double tubes in it. Neighbors use to rag on me that the sun went down everywhere except my garage1 point

Bought a greenie. Or almost did... seller forgot the title, so bike is in our hangar, and we’ll do a money and title swap next week to finish things up. Very low miles, runs decent, but needs lots of little stuff, and the big thing (that I know of) is the clear coat coming off the tank. Right side valve cover leaking oil. He converted to pods. Lots of light surface corrosion. Etc. any wise words on things I should know about the red frame, vs my (2) longer frame Lemans? I think it’s mostly all laid out well enough in the pinned topic that compares the models... under the seat are two black cylinders with fuel lines. Are those of charcoal cannisters? Just noticed them and didn’t take the time to trace the lines to confirm. will likely make this a project for next winter, to thoroughly go through the greenie.1 point
