This is one of those things that seems too simple to matter. Trust me, how you seal your vacuum taps (and maintain them) matters.3 points

I think Leroy was the only Spiney that made it. I took my Duc. Report to follow. I saw friends I hadn't seen in a couple of years. It was the Wild Guzzi Rally in the Kansas Flint Hills. I took my travel trailer and the Supersport. A couple of the guys own Ducs, one a '90s vintage SS. Big sky country. Steep but gentle hills. We had catered, pot luck Thurs-Fri and a fish fry on Saturday. About 60 folks from as far away as Cali, KY and WI. And all the neighboring states. The wind blew like hell. Temps went from the high 40s to the mid 80s. Hot and very cold wind. Most of us had our shots and a few more shots & beer there, even a little garden goodness.I suppose the strangest thing was a group of "stars" that moved across the SW to NE horizon. One, then another until about 20 were filling the horizon and kept going, like a train, one after the other. In order, until the horizon was full. Like a train or an ant path. I guessed maybe 50 from horizon to horizon moving NE until gone over 5 minutes. Transfixed with drink and smoke, we couldn't take a picture or even tell anyone. (There is an explanation but I'll leave it for now and the reader to guess *.)Anyway, folks rode to Tom Mix Museum, Price Tower, Woolarc, Twisted Oz MC Museum, etc. Sorry posting photos too hard. * OK, Elon Musk Sky Link (from horizon to horizon for 5 minutes until 60 satellite had passed) (and we were ripped in the first place)2 points

Swapped my intake vacuum-tap caps from "rubber" to silicone. I've had the rubber ones dry out, get loose and give running issue fits. I figured them for 5mm ID, but the caps came 5mm OD. Cut to length, and a little P-80 Emulsion "Temporary Rubber Assembly Lubricant," and they feel snug. Guess I should watch they don't squirt themselves off into a parallel universe. Hoping that the silicone caps stand up better (indefinitely?) to the heat cycling . . . (Take-offs into the Monkey Paw Spares Bag).2 points

Hello All, It is with sadness that I am selling my 2000 V11 Sport. It's a good bike. It is running well. I just don't ride it much these days and want to clear out some space, and not let it simply gather dust. It's just shy of 13K miles. It has a Roper sloppage pate installed. As well as an upgraded reg/rect unit. I've adjusted the acorn transmission nut and the transmission shifts without misses. Only issues are the Veglia tach indicates wildly and will need repair or replacement (was like this when I bought the bike), there's a leak from the transmission that drips onto the x-over, and the left bar end is loose and fastened with some friction tape inside the bar. I'd like to sell it to someone who knows about these bikes and won't chop it out or otherwise destroy it. Open to offers from people from this forum. The bike is in central Los Angeles. Also includes a TPS breakout harness and rear stand. $4000 OBO1 point

Thank you! I'm hoping it can go to one of the fine caretakers on this board. Such a fun bike, I just never have the time to ride it anymore.1 point

Thanks for all the responses! I've given it a whack yesterday with some paint stripper and a wire brush on a drill, which went remarkably well. Everything closed up/taped off obviously. Only need to go and find a smaller bit for the corrosion in the small holes, but should be fine. Plan is indeed to (quality) rattle can it, as the curing of the powdercoat will hurt any seals etc.1 point

Still haven’t finalized what I want to do with the exhaust. Having traded my complete system for the QD, I no longer have the nice crossover. I did manage to find what appears to be the last new crossover that agostini mandello had on their website. Looks to have the provision for a O2 bung also, that’ll be helpful as I think I will keep the fuel injection set up. It’s good to have options anyway so having this in my Pile ‘O Parts never hurts... I have a MYECU coming and now I can pull these throttle bodies off to be bored. I was going to to do that with my 2v but the 4v already has 50mm TB’s so getting them rebuilt, bored and new butterfly’s would be the better choice as this is the engine I will use.1 point

Such a sincere and talented performance. I had something to post with lotsa "boogie" and bass-sass, but it will have to wait . . . Here's one for @LowRyter, Tab Benoit performing "(Bring me my) Medicine" . . .1 point

Saw this ad mentioned in the Wildguzzi forum: https://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/d/sacramento-2001-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7314107911.html i know nothing of the bike other than the ad, but I thought I’d post it as it could be a good deal for someone.1 point

I'd pass on the 400F powder coat curing temp. When I did the AeroLario, I thoroughly cleaned it with purple power, went all over it with red scotch brite, wiped it down with thinner, masked and rattle canned it. Still looks good years later.1 point
