I usually keep my political opinions to myself. When I seen the picture of these masked marauders, I felt compelled to say something. Thanks for setting me straight.3 points

^^^^ I understand and do not necessarily disagree. That said, I view all such things through a "time, manner, & place" lens. What I say around my supper table, fire pit, and the like to friends are not things I say in motorcycle forums outside of "BS" subtopics. I loathe PC and all its fellow travelers, and, regrettably, it seems to have driven speech underground. Sad. But I also don't view every venue as a soapbox for my pet rocks ... and I assure you that I have a rock garden of those. So, if interested in any of those or in sharing yours, you and others here are welcome to come visit me in the Moto Grappa at the top of Virginia sometime, sit on the porch a spell, and sip something pleasant while we rant on about the decline and fall of western civilization. 1921 - 2021! Well, I thought it was going to be good but it was more than good. It was gooder! I have never seen so many V11 Sports in one place. I think I counted six. Here's a taste. There will be a video released in the next week with more goodness. I don't recall what he was asking for the silver bike. The LeMans was $4k. More pictures in the next post.3 points

I don't own a Centauro but have a Daytona HiCam engine which is giving me a lot of grief (but that's another story). Just a couple of thing's Mikko, if you know already forgive me. The HiCam engine has both belts and gears, gears to drive the oil pump and service shaft and pulleys to drive the cams from the service shaft. I see somebody went the gear to chain route, but as you have a Caruso pump & gears, you are obviously not considering it..................wise move! AFAIK the V11 chain and pump conversion will reduce your oil output from the pump at least 20% (probably more) the V11 pump is smaller and the chain drive turns the pump slower. The HiCam engine has the largest oil pump of all the bikes of that era. This is supposition but I think the reason for the crazy sleeved oil pump is because Guzzi needed to make the pump large and then didn't have room for a roller bearing on the pump, so they just sleeved it instead. I wonder what oil pressures these bikes have after the conversion. I'd put at least a temporary oil pressure gauge onto it to see what pressures you get when the engine is up to temp, the relief valve is known to leak, an experiment I'm still fooling around with, I reckon if it's in line with the limited anectodal evidence I have it will be in the 40s. That said, I've never heard of a Centauro running its bearings except if there's been oil starvation from the pump breaking or the oil hoses coming off the oil cooler. I assume you've found Phil's excellent build thread https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/20664-v11-daytona-project/ My own woes are documented here if you fancy an amusing read at my expense https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/21884-hicam-oil-pressure-gross-stupidity-and-why-you-should-always-listen-to-chuck/ Just some info, make of it what you will John3 points

Many in NZ say "kays". Although as a country with a lot of sheep, we could start using Sheppies. Douglas Adams said a Sheppy is the closest distance at which sheep remain picturesque (about 1.4 kays).3 points

It's been 5 years since my Corso passed away. I miss having a dog. I picked her up a couple weeks ago, she's a 2 month old "Blue" Cane Corso. My God, I got a refresher course on what Hell Raiser's little puppy's can be :/2 points

They all liked riding at the back of the truck, even going fast, full control. First one in 75, enjoyed the 440 music. Oluf the monster 68kg, way later. 4 males, 1 chick. Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-A505FN via Tapatalk2 points

I'm thinking that if we all "don't necessarily disagree" enough, maybe we'll soon all think the same. My way, of course. As so much of what we all "think" is often less cognitive than that, all of this reminds me of ... What Was I Thinkin' Bill2 points

It’s my theory that we as a species have yet to come to terms in dealing with information overload. Considering knowledge used to be kept very close to the vest by those who pull the levers of power. A complete and now fully established religion developed predicated on a single individuals intimate knowledge that no one else was privy to. The pendulum has not yet reached its arc, now we can be, and are inundated 24/7 by information. The ability or lack of, to determine what’s wheat and what’s chaff is what needs to be settled. In any population, a percentage will posses more intelligence and they will cater to the ones who are not as gifted. That cascades into every level of social interaction so readily evident in forums like this, Twitter Facebook et al. Free speech was and is a bedrock principle on which this Country was founded. That comes with the tact understanding that you or I may not agree. Dissent and the open exchange of ideas is how we become a more whole and just society. As we are Human and prone to malice, that has been utilized in today’s hyper saturated communications orgy currently going non stop. Propaganda is what we should all flatly show zero tolerance towards. Appeasement will never be looked upon with the grace in which it was given, but in fact as a sign of weakness. *steps off the soap box*2 points

We replaced the original battery in the wifes V11 with an Odyssey PC545. Ran it that way for years, but swapped it out before leaving on a long trip years back. The battery wasn't dead or anything, just didn't want it to die on the trip (had a bad experience with the original). After sitting in my garage for a few years, the battery in my lawn tractor died. So I grabbed the PC545 and put it in the lawn tractor, where it is still chugging away now. It just keeps going. And it gets very little special care or attention, nothing what some do for their batteries (docc?). I mention it because I am just so impressed with both the original and the Odyssey replacement. I have considered a Lithium battery, but in a 500 lb motorcycle I don't think the weight difference is worth it. I am fine with a heavy battery that works forever.2 points

My Rottweiler would routinely eat the bumper cover off the back of my truck. Never the front. After a couple replacements I decided the back of the truck was his and he could keep it any way he liked it . . .2 points

Cool pic and story on the merits, but, regrettably, if it follows its present diverging course, perhaps it and follow-on now belong here: "Special place for banter and other silly remarks"? Bill2 points

I don't doubt the Chinese make a good product, mostly. I just want to send my dollars to support what remains of the western world. My last year purchase of Dunlop Roadsmart 3's were made in Japan. I think their racing tires are USA made.2 points

Yeah... my lovely, little, precious furry best buddy has chewed into oblivion a very expensive Canada Goose winter cap, about $50 worth of apple charging cords, a pack of log books, 2 pillows... did i mention I love her? Etc.....2 points

... and, I would hope, too, among courteous and thoughtful folks of all sorts. I count myself as among those, and thus find no shame or "sneakiness" in that. YMMV and, seemingly, does. Ces't la vie, just not my vie. I am, BTW, done with this thread as I view the horse beaten to death, butchered, and packed for resale. Best, Bill1 point

Thanks gents. Need a Centauro block but thanks Max, do appreciate it. Tinus I think I have a line on something but I might need to get back to you. Yeah, shipping is going to be sick if I have to go outside Oz! A few years back I shipped out a straight six sidevalve Dodge motor for less than you pay for some bike stuff these days. :\1 point

My 1st Corso ate one entire leather work glove. I wondered why she wasn’t eating and being very aggressive. Took her in to the vet and they cut her open and returned to me in a plastic baggy my missing glove. i was wtf? How? Huh? Really? Geeze these dogs can do some wild shit... I’ve had to erect mini barricades around my speakers at home because I would absolutely freak if she started chewing on my cables. I’m not into $10,000 a inch cables... but I do use quality stuff. Stuff I’d rather not have to try and replace at today’s prices... Ohh btw, she discovered what bass feels like hahahaha... was playing some Steely Dan ( Lunch with Gina) and turned it up just a bit. She was in awe! That was hilarious.1 point

I bought my first V11, which is a 2002/03 black frame, but with the earlier “short” tank only 4 years ago as an alternative Guzzi to my Griso, I’d always liked the classic look of the V11, and IMHO they were the last “raw big blocks”, as much as I like the Griso, the CARC bikes just feel smoother. Then around a year later I bought a V11 Le Mans, then another year on I decided I’d quite like an early red framed V11, I found a fantastic Silver 5000 miler in great condition, bought that. Then only a month or so after getting the red framed V11, a Ross’s Corsa came up for sale, and it was too good an opportunity to pass, so I bought that. Then earlier this year I was seriously looking at an early carb 1100 Sport, but I couldn’t get on with the riding position, so I passed on that and shortly afterwards spotted this 1999 greenie for sale. For various reasons I felt it would be a great purchase, even though I already have a near mint silver 1999 red frame, and here I am with 2 red frames, 3 black frames and Griso. I do plan to downsize & sell the V11 Le Mans this year, since I bought the Rosso Corsa, so I’ll be back down to 4 V11’s1 point

I may as well throw in, here's our pure bred mutt rescue dog, Lacy. Total cream puff with people, but it turned out she's a hunter. When I took her early on to the free range dog park, a rabbit came tearing across the field, and before I knew what was up, Lacy took out after it. It took her maybe a hundred yards, but she finally caught, shook and killed the poor rabbit. So after years of having dog unfriendly canines, I thought finally we'd have a nice off leash pet. Not to be (she unfortunately also now has a horse ranch chicken kill to her credit as well). But she's terribly sweet with people and no risk with young children. Dunno her breeding, maybe Lab and something with deep chest and narrow waist (Greyhound?) and curly tail (Akita?).1 point

They look similar but a wire hair pointing Griffon is not the same as a GWP. I hope he's a fearless retriever but I'll have to wait and see, he does point at the chickens next door. I've done a lot of shooting with him nearby and it doesn't bother him a bit, my passed Lab was gun shy.1 point

We always had rottweiler's, the reason for side car. Now the son is taking over. Rossi has been, let's say a handful, 13month and 53kg. 3 dead dogs in front of God waiting for entrance. God asking the german sheperd, what have been your goals? disiplin, training and loyal to the master. Ok, on my right side. God asking the puddel, your goals? Love, care from my master and piece in the world. Ok, on my left side. God looking at the Rottweiler asking the same question. Rottweiler saying,,, your standing in my place. Cheers tom.
