  1. The bare wood walls look great! Good call on not painting them.

  2. It should take a second or a second and half to extinguish the Low Pressure Light after an oil change. Most common cause is the old oil filter gasket stuck on the motor and now you have double filter gaskets and no oil pressure. Inspect the old filter that came off to see if its gasket is missing. Pull the new filter and inspect for the double gasket/seal. I would do this before starting again. Certainly before riding it.

  3. Nope. When you take the 'manhole' off the sump the whole sump full will gush out. How did you install the filter? You did use a cup wrench, not just your fingers I hope?

  6. Sadly the 8V Hi-Cam is no more. Too dirty and too thirsty for starters and of course something so much fun wouldn't be countenanced by the droids at Piaggio who see Guzzi as their platform for hipsters and cranky old white men who think pushrods are a pinnacle of engineering excitement.....

  7. Many of the small towns in our region were built along the railroads. Quite a few have an old caboose on display honoring that heritage. I put together a day ride that took in five cabooses (plus the BBQ Caboose Café ), 215 miles, 8 counties. . . . and 2 happy Guzzisti on their romping Sports . . .

  9. Out riding the mountain today. Discovered the hard way my battery is going kaput. 2 years on the money. But it was still a fun ride. Hot but fun.

  13. Hey Scud! Great to hear from you! I’m loving this space, and it’s been awesome to see what other people have going on for the their garage / man cave / moto lair. Mine is modest, but it does the trick. A lot people would consider this place a tear down, but it’s one of the oldest original homes in this area. I’m really glad that I opted for keeping the wood in a cleaned up but raw unpainted original state. It suits the vibe of this funky old school vintage So-Cal home, and it feels great being here and tweaking the “cave”. Will have to look into the epoxy floor paint to take the place up. The Green Muse will have some company soon as it looks like I will be adding a T3 in the next few days. Cheers!

  14. Just found this most excellent project and read through it. LOVE IT. The Greenie really pops in that rustic environment with red accents. Somebody mentioned epoxy floor paint in an earlier post. I second that. I have spilled everything on mine and the only thing that did any damage was aircraft paint stripper. I recently saw at a Sherwin Williams store that you can have epoxy paint mixed to any color you want.

  15. Finally moving in. I left the wood natural, and taking docc’s good advice for an acid wash, gave it all a scrub with a vinegar/water/soap solution and a final rinse. It still smells like an Easter egg but I feel pretty good about the state of the old wood. I’ll put in some pegboard and bring more stuff in next week, but it’s great to finally have a workable space.

  16. Funny, after tampering with my Sport from new, I started looking at the yellow marking paint as "don't forget to mess with this one too!"
