  1. I'm back on track and everything seems okay! I noticed a huge improvement in gear shift action, thanks to Lucky Phil/Chuck-made shift lever extender. More importantly, I have charging again. The Shindengen 847 was a good investment for sure. A day to remember. I wouldn't be here without all the advisory from @Tomchri @Rolf Halvorsen @docc and all you other guys on the forum. A big thanks to y'all! The coughing at 3000rpm has gotten worse, but I'm confident that a full tune-up will make a difference. Never ever done that.

  2. Had the fortunate opportunity to see the Orrin Evans Quartet this evening at Chris's Jazz Club in Philadelphia. Do not miss them should you have the chance! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

  5. Cool thing is they will set up custom voltages for the color and flash changes. I made a table of what I would prefer for the Odyssey PC545 AGM, but never made the order from SparkBright. They're in the UK, yah?

  9. Thanks, @docc Time will tell. I don't have the nerves to test it out for real, so have to drain the tank in the garage someday. I have a bad feeling about this sensor because the wires were cut when I bought the bike.

  11. Aw… I took it down when you didn’t comment. Didn’t want to offend. Pretty sure I can put it back.

  13. Allite Super Magnesium "weighing 30% less than aluminum by volume and being both stiffer and stronger pound for pound". This is a misleading claim. Allite's website states their alloy strength is greater than steel (not in this universe) but they don't give numbers. Be careful not to slip in the snake oil - this alloy is likely to be weaker than the aluminum alloy in the factory side plates. To get equivalent strength you need to make magnesium alloy side plates thicker/bulkier to make up for the weaker material. Allite claim "shock absorbing properties" but this means it is more elastic (lower Young's modulus). This means a more floppy swing arm mount, unless made thicker/bulkier. You should listen to Pete, and also look at the material properties.

  14. I've seen Brad a lot on YouTube. A lot of Guzzi-stuff. Take shelter and ride the green beast when the sun is shining.

  15. G'day( or good evening in the Northern hemisphere ) mate ! That sounds right ( I'm not that well versed in these matters ). It was Brad Black ( Brad the Bike Boy), a well known ( world wide actually ) Ducati mechanic who suggested putting it on when my original one gave up the ghost many moons ago.He swears by them so I figured if he recommends them they must be the way to go! Never had cause to even think about it again and I ride year round here in Victoria ( well Covid lockdowns excluded ) and don't ever charge the battery. Anyway mate you shouldn't have to think about your reg/rec again so hopefully you can get out there and enjoy your summer riding season. Cheers Guzzler Ps we've just had a once in 10/20 years storm come through which wiped out the power for 3 x days! We had a lull in the storm where the winds and rain stopped and I thought maybe I'll sneak out on the greenie.Wife insisted we take the car and charge her phone ( our only connection to the world ) whilst we're driving. Wow, very very glad I left the bike at home! Also BLOODY GLAD to be reconnected to the V11 world again!!

  16. The Honda Hurricanes. The PC800 (Pacific Coast) was around that time too. Soichiro Honda was an innovator, and company continued his legacy after his retirement in early 1970s.

  17. ........if memory serves me correctly, that was an interesting time for Honda. They introduced the GB500, the Hawk, & the first model that would become the F4/CBR600.

  18. Picked up the Scura yesterday, after a long wait for a voltage regulator. Finally, it runs again (been sitting for over 2 years, maybe 3). Took it on a romp, and remembered how much fun this bike is. WOT at 6,500 RPM up a long, curvy grade... just lovely.

  19. Well worth the visit. Guzzis predominated. Some well used 70s and 80s Guzzis and a very nice Magni. More new than old Ducatis present and a couple of Morinis, but no Laverdas that I noticed. Only one V11 other than my Tenni. Lots of very nice Ferraris, Maseratis, Alfas and a few Lancias too. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  21. Here's a couple of other V11 that have been customised

  22. I must agree with having some disregard for the "donor bike" mash-ups being called "customs" these days for the sake of showing off someone's design and fabrication ideas. Especially when the donor was something I admire (read: V11). Yet, in an effort to steer Kane's original topic back from our (interesting) detour(s), here is, bar-none, my favourite V11 Custom built, and ridden, by our treasured member @knumbnutz :
