  1. NEXT GENERATION GUZZISTI The Moto Guzzi of the next 100 years In 2021, the Eagle of Mandello is celebrating its first Centenary, but what will the Moto Guzzi of the future be like? The designers of the Moto Guzzi Design Center are asking the next generation of Guzzi fans - children, grandchildren and very young friends of the community members - to help us imagine the Moto Guzzi of the next 100 years! https://theclan.motoguzzi.com/en/nextgenerationguzzisti https://theclan.motoguzzi.com/en/nextgenerationguzzisti-upload

  2. It sounds like the OP is talking about the side to side play in the floating brake discs. That is normal, and as long as there is no rotational play in the buttons that locate the brake discs he should be fine. Full floating brake discs have side to side play. And they also can make odd noised when wheeling the bike around in the garage or driveway. But as long as they have no rotational play between the disc and the carrier you should be fine. I prefer pads that are of a softer material than the discs, so it is the pads that wear. But there are some interesting pad materials out there, some that coat the disc with pad material and then create friction between the pad and the pad material coating on the disc. Very cool, but it does require very specific break in procedures.

  3. I've had a Sparkbright on my V11 for about 5 years. Thing to watch out is if you are colour blind it makes it a bit differcult to make out the different colours. Me I have trouble between yellows & green

  5. Took V11 sport out for a long drive yesterday (this bike is single owner and is used alot and runs quite well in the mountains) and the bike began to have particularly bad flat spot around 2800rpm which I attributed to the warm temps and city driving as I re-entered town. Then it got really bad ......lots of coughing. Fuel light flickered. Backfire. Time for a fill-up. With new gas she was happy. So let me think about this. The tank was not empty by a long shot and now I have a new theory that I have some very nasty old gas and crud in the bottom of each fuel tank "lobe."

  7. @Bbennett deserves his own topic, IMO. I hope you're cool with this, Bb! We all want to pile on and fix your Sport from the comfort of our comfy seats and glowing monitors. And, as much, not let our V11 fall prey to "What-ever-it-was" . . .

  8. No way! How could that happen?

  9. I wonder if it could be caused by water in the gas tank. If you can get a small hose into each "lobe" you can siphon a bit out of each side. Then run the bike towards empty closer to home to see if the problem repeats.

  11. This makes me recall freeing up the rotor on the carrier by cleaning the buttons and bumping the rotor toward the center in a “star pattern”. Perhaps that is the freeplay @Flooky is concerned with? Otherwise , +1 with GuzziMoto on no rotational play.

  15. Thank you, as well, for your kind wishes! I spent most of this weekend finally getting my other bike back on the road after three months. A story like yours makes my effort seem rather trivial. Yet, isn't it absolutely fabulous to go riding on something we have been rather deeply into? You must have been just elated to be riding your Greeeeenie! After a delightful ride on my sweet little (rebuilt) Honda single this morning (running from the rain!), I did take mySport out for a decent romp through the countryside (88 miles/142 km). My, my but what a difference triple the horsepower and a properly set up suspension! I am so happy for you, now riding your lovely prize! This is a delight to see:

  17. Enough love that the hairy-knuckled Neanderthal creep that owns would check the oil and top it up. I had gotten where I only rode it two or three times a year (mostly out of guilt). Then I resolved to ride her once a month, but failed to consider thirty year old valve seals with 50,000 miles. What a disheartenment. So, fresh rockers, cam, rings, light valve lap and bore hone. And a frustrating education on how the automatic double compression release really works and why the motor won't start if one little, tiny part is left out . . .
