Honestly? That image looks like a ruse. Just a bunch of stitched-together whizzz that has no basis in reality. Sure, sure, maybe Moto Guzzi/Piaggio will actually have something roadworthy in another two or three years? I'm not holding my breath that there even be an EICMA this year.3 points

If your V11 weighs 500 pounds, its probably out of fuel . . . I can remember two, or maybe three, female forum members. I think two of them actually rode V11 and the other had some pretty V11 jewelry on offer. Recalling just a few lady riders coming through our local "sport-touring" community reminds that the more talented ones chose bikes that fit them well (shouldn't we all?). The most adept of these wore full leathers and rode a Honda Hawk GT. Quite svelte, nimble and capable. The bike, too.2 points

I must be one LUCKY fella! Look what I found on eBay in Italy: 50 Euro shipped to my door: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255075561894 (seat cowl pad, NOS!) AF1 Racing in Austin had the black OEM seat cowl, and all the fasteners and washers I needed...200.00 with shipping for everything...So under 300 USD, and I was somehow able to find everything. I am so relieved! Result!2 points

Over the years, including ten spent in Italy, I found out you only get respected when you are on a V11...2 points

I’ve seen that one for sale.. it’s pretty! if you can’t find a used one (they are very hard to source) here’s a link to a NOS one: https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?language=en&products_id=64989 The money all manufacturers charge for plastic grinds my ass but that’s the game. Congratulations and welcome to a rather distinguished club2 points

For fine gauge wire, just solder them together with some heat shrink tubing over the joint. Any kind of crimp or connector will run too much risk of vibration breaking the wires. When I do this, I queue 2 sections of heat shrink one each to the right and left of the joint. Twist the wires together and solder. Move one of the H shrink tubes over the joint an shrink it. Then move the other over and shrink that. 2 layers of H shrink will really protect the solder joint from vibration.2 points

If you can get the C of G and the seat height low enough to get both feet flat on the ground with some knee bend it goes a long way to helping. The amount of times I've seen girls topple over in car parks I've lost count of. I did a magazine 4 way bike test 3 day ride/trip years ago testing the big 4 sports tourers of the day and one of the other riders was a fairly petite woman. Every time we needed to park perpendicular to the gutter/sidewalk we had to give here a hand. She was a competent rider but just too small to handle the walking pace/manoeuvring stuff. Ciao1 point

I think most girls would find the V11 Sport way too heavy for them to manhandle around off the bike and carpark type riding. Mine seems to get heavier every year. Magazine images always look cool but the reality of riding a heavy bike with a fairly high seat height and C of G is another matter. I've known quite a few female riders and racers and I've never seen one of them that looks totally 100% safe on a large capacity sports bike at walking speeds. Ciao1 point

Yea I've bought quite a bit of stuff off Denis (deal_ ricambi) over the years. Good seller. Ciao1 point

I had the Napoleon type on mine when I first got the bike, never quite liked them though. It looked like it was bodged into fitting as per Scud's experience. I replaced it with a Rizoma ( cheaper copy ) type and reckon it looks great! Not quite as effective as some ( most ) but I'm happy with it eh. Cheers Guzzler1 point

That has been true for a while. There are a lot of parts on ebay now from what I think was a perfectly good Cafe Sport. The Ohlins components alone will bring a high percentage of the total vehicle value. And there are several other rare and prized bits, such as seat cowl. BTW - it's true of many cars and motorcycles, not just V11s.1 point

Had very similar style on LM 1000, pretty good if you like chrome, quite large I've now got a CRG Arrow on each of the bikes in black. They are quite small but the image is wide enough for me to see behind me and to the right (we drive on the left) Easy to flip up out the way if filtering Only one mirror installed on each bike on the RHS, works great for me, but it's a taste thing as well as functional piece of kit1 point

IMO the best bar-end mirrors for the V11 are the classic Napoleons. The are available in black or chrome. I have a black set on my Scura. Some bar-end mirrors can be a bit of a PITA to mount, because the V11 bar-ends are threaded, and most mirrors are made for standard (non-threaded) bar ends. I had to cut down the rubber compression grommets to get the Napoleons in there.1 point

Awright! I think we have to create a specific topic for those of us who are into photography. I am into "Product Photography", and I love TS-E lenses. I use them everywhere I can.1 point

I have two 900SSes...they notice me already. The Guzzi V11 is just extra dripping cheese on my lasagna.1 point

Let's all hope that whatever they do will not be driven by what they "think" the Americans will buy. What a formula for disaster that has been, historically. Worse, yet, is this latest effort driven by the Chinese/Asian/Indian market? Unknowable from down here in the wrench-trench.1 point

Hey, that (rare) RedFrame >black< Sport has a sweet Givi flyscreen on it already. Gives you the option to go *nekkid* when the mood strikes you !1 point

You bet! I'll forget trying to get the unobtanium MAGNI fairing and just get the seat cowl and the machine will be completed for my tastes...some fluids, and a new set of DIABLO Rosso Corsa 3s... Can't wait!1 point

In my experience, photographers (even more than musicians) can be determined lone-wolf creatives with little patience or latitude for aspiring enthusiasts. All specialist communities can have this attribute. "What's a small and puny ant like you hanging around Muscles Mahoney's gym, anyway ?" You can almost hear the the suspenders *snap*. Welcome to V11LeMans.com. Check out the "Tube Amps!" thread and tip your server . . .1 point

Well, just paid over the phone. Should be here in 1-2 weeks: 5500.00 plus 650.00 shipping...https://www.ebay.com/itm/203585639958?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D882181c5e11b4007aec3ee93a16453c0%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D265246055581%26itm%3D203585639958%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A857c35d3-0b72-11ec-9d5b-be69afc97c36|parentrq%3Aa371197817b0a36981ed12caffe77aa2|iid%3A1 I'm now a GUZZI owner! 01466430XX is the base p/n and the last 2 digits are the colour but I don't have the number for black. Red is 65, Grey is 64 and unpainted is 30. There is a new red and grey ones on ebay from TLM in the Netherlands but I could retire on what they want for one if I sold my spare. I may actually have 2 spares, I'll check. Ciao1 point

I don't carry big cameras to concerts. I like to watch the show and not lug around a big camera. Also don't want to bother other concertgoers. But, I have a Lumix ZS100. It's a little bigger than a cigarette pack. With that little one inch sensor, the reach is full frame equivalent of 250mm. It's got 20 odd megapixels but is a little hit and miss in the results. It works OK in automode, not so much in the others (although I found some tweak settings on forum that helps). The key is to have a ready exposure compensation control which I've programmed to the lens ring. It's usually best to under expose those shots because the background is dark and subject is brightly lit, sometimes in the spot light. Not only so you get the right exposure, it also shortens the shutter speed and reduces blur. You're Fuji is a fixed lens APS-C? Much bigger sensor for higher quality photos suited for more close up and portrait stuff. It might be a challenge unless you have great seats. The little Lumix is a good travel camera that I took for a month long trip to Europe. OK, I'll look for any excuse to post photos and talk photography1 point

I don’t think so, I bought a whole tail w/cowl and that was off a 2003? The reason I suggested unpainted was so you can have it perfectly color matched to what you have on the bike now. Maybe a pre painted one would match but who knows? I remember seeing a cowl on eBay a couple three months back with a hole cut in the middle of it. You might also consider looking for a complete tail w/ cowl like I did for the money they want just for a piece of plastic. At least that way you have a spare. Parts are getting thin…..0 points
