Nice stuff but the V11 Sport/LeMans is still the best looking Guzzis ever produced. (And the V11 was ahead of the return of the round headlight styling before anyone else. ) This is a nice looking bike but not as nice as ours. I wonder how it sounds?

If my shipper is to be believed, I'll get to fly my V11 tomorrow...and render my verdict. I'll be sure to wear goggles and a scarf. Science, you know.

The first time I saw the valve train of a Guzzi, I thought.. "Aircraft engine." The bottom end is .. uh.. sturdy. I'd fly one any time.

I was going to post the exact same thing. I got that story from an Italian enthusiast while working for Agip in Nigeria. He told me the V twin Guzzi was inspired by aircraft engines. I wish I had asked him how he knew that.

Well, I had a 283 that I built and that much is true. Our ears catch that 270º interval even out of the eight cylinders. There's an engineering fellow who has posted YouTube vids showing why various engines sound differently. It can be the number of cylinders, the firing interval between cylinders, or both. The cross-plane Yamaha R1 is completely unique. By firing interval, it is kind of like two Guzzi engines linked together. But it also has a hint of that V8 sound. And here is Guzzi, Ducati etc. 270º twins. In my youth, I would have thought it sounds like a 289 Studebaker, 327 Rambler, or 352 Packard. Of course, all are cross-plane V8s, so sound alike.

My thinking too. Might not be convenient for owners 300 miles from the dealer. I know the Beemer RT requires the cams to come out for adjustment and the interval is 12k miles. And it's not just skill for DIY-er, also need the shim kit. I know that there is a national rental service available for the Ducati valve adjustment kit (not factory), with tools and consumables, and even video instructions. I think the rental period is like 3-4weeks(?), the shipping, rental and consumable costs are deducted from the deposit.

I'm loving the exit of the exhaust from the bottom of the jug. I'm hoping they do a roadster version with low bars or clipons and a seat cowling.. You know.. A V11ish version.. 😎👍

Triumph is a great business model. They have a sizable line of traditional, Including customs in different genre, a separate and complete line of modern innovation, adventure bikes arena well covered, and on top- some over the top wildasscruiserbehemoth something or other.

You know, I am just grateful Guzzi built the V11 LeMans. I guess I'm a knuckle-dragging cave dwelling ape, but I think every car and motorcycle I will ever own has already been built. I just can't get worked up with anticipation over TFT screens, ABS, TC, quick shifters, heated grips, GPS, Bluetooth, etc. I'm glad I got a V11 so I can experience and preserve the classic air-cooled Guzzi V Twin experience for myself moving forward into the impending dystopian, anti-DIY hell... EFI? 6 speed gearbox? Digital ignition system? Analog gauges? No tubes in my tires? That's as new as I will tolerate. I can hardly accept water-cooled engines. I am a dinosaur. Rawr.

I've heard a MAGNI fairing kit is around $1500 USD...so pretty dear, price wise, but, if you are like me... you justify such prices to reward companies such as MAGNI for catering to our niche bikes...and if you are also like me, you become disgusted with the thought of putting Chinese eBay trash on such a lovely motorcycle, such as a V11. I'd contact MAGNI directly to get a current price. With import duty, tariffs, the price will probably be ugly, even though the kit is heavenly.

I was thinking that perhaps the Guzzi singles were inspired by WW1 aircraft engines (Anzani,etc.),and the trend evolved into more cylinders... Just a thought.

Heh don't put that shit on us, that little dodge was first thought up by the Japanese. Apple are a disgrace and I'd never purchase any of their products. Don't get me wrong they look amazing and apparently work well. It's just a matter of principal that if I can avoid purchasing from a company who will screw over their own customers I will. Take a newer I Phone to replace the battery to a non apple shop and find features on the phone mysteriously stops working after replacement. Circuitry within the battery, is paired to other chips on the phone. So unless Apple replace the battery (at an exhorbitant cost) the phone loses features. Oh and the chip suppliers have a deal that they only supply to Apple. They also had to come clean that when you upgraded to the latest OS on your older Apple phone it became very slow was a deliberate strategy. I'll get ma coat
