Talk about rare. I'm the current "keeper" of the most rare V11S model of all, the Scura RC. (rubber chicken)5 points

Frankly, this is a very familiar and fantastically sexy formula . . . Missing = 1) Exclusivity , and 2) Tanya Dexters (Instead, a concrete pillar)5 points

My Scura R actually came from the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 - they were the last of the V11’s as production ended & were only allocated to European countries. I once found the breakdown per country & as I recall there were 4 only allocated to the UK. A few year’s back a forum member pm’d asking to buy mine - but I be like Charlton Heston! 🔫 ✋4 points

As mentioned already, it's funny the strange places they turn up. Although I was a bike fanatic when I was younger, haunted all the bike shops and lusted after the CX100 in the magazines back in the day, I had never actually seen a Moto Guzzi in person through my lifetime. About 12 years ago at work, I'm in the back parking lot on a smoke break, and one of the guys that worked in the traffic office, rides in on a Rosso Mandello; he'd apparently just picked it up from the Chicago ? area in the US on a bus? and ride deal. I was awestruck, be still my beating heart. When the first guzzi you see and touch is a RM, that sets the stage, and is the fodder for a serious addiction, lol3 points

Being in the automotive trade (now retired) I used Snap-On tools 80 % of the time, MAC and Matco the remainder of the time. Reason for buying off the truck that comes to the shop every week is to replace all the tools you break or wear out (mainly sockets) or lose. I used Craftsman tools before getting into the trade but bringing in a big box of broken tools each week was just too much time wasted.2 points

Sure, we all know about the very few hundred of Rosso Mandello and Scura (600-700, respectively?). And less than two hundred Tenni (170?) Perhaps just slightly fewer Coppa Italia (150?). But then it has been reported only 18 (of a planned 20?) V11 Scura R. Are any of those models outside of Europe/ UK? Never exported to the USA? The rarest V11 of all? Likely the V11 Playboy Exclusive Edition (EE). Here it is at the 2003 Brussels Salon presented with Playmate Tanya Dexters . . . Was there ever more than one built? Was it prepared by the factory? Where is it now? And are there any other images from this photo shoot or presentation?1 point

Thank`s to all the useful info from all here at the v11lemans.com, and from all at the Norwegian MG club forum, I decided to sell my first MG, a Jackal, and buy a v11. To my knowledge, the Scura R is the last version that Moto Guzzi made of the v11-series. It`s the sister of Cafe Sport and Coppa Italia. If you want an original black colour v11 Sport with the Ă–hlins-bits, this is the closest you get. Some say only 40 was made, and some say only 18 was made. The number 18 comes from reliable sources in Italy, so I choose to believe 18 is the correct number I`s referred to as a limited edition several places, but there is no limited number on the bike. Mine has VIN: ZGUKTB0104M111886 I spent about 18 months looking in Germany, France and Italy for a decent Cafe Sport, not knowing there was a Scura R too. And then, in january 2010, on mobile.de, I saw for the first time, a black v11 with a red seat. After much googling, I understood that this was a very rare bike, and that I should go for it. It was first registered january 2005 by the dealer Peter Lamparth in Boll, Germany. I bought it from the second owner, Fritz, in Stuttgart in may 2010, with 22.000km. I rode it home myself. I do not expect that much action going on here really (due to the extremely limited numbers Scura R`s in the world ), but Scura R-owners, please feel free to registre.1 point

Using @stewgnu's 2002 wiring diagram, it looks like @Grim's 2003-carryover has the same wiring colors I noted above for the 1999-2001. There does not look to be any electric petcock wiring to get mixed up with the fuel level connector:1 point

To my eyes, the Scura R (Scura Rossa?) is the most fantastic color combination. The Coppa a close second. Somewhere here, I read that the lowly Ballabio was made in about 223 copies. But, in the Aprilia days they had so many flavors of the same ice cream that can any one actually be called 'mass production'?1 point

As always, I appreciate that I can get sensible answers to my (not always sensible) questions in this forum!!1 point

Odd that the Scura R pictured above has a gold (Rizoma??) handlebar instead of clip ons....was that stock on the R version? Chuck...it looks like the chicken crossed the road right into your Scura and got stuck!1 point

Yes, that is coincidence. The fuel level connector on your early wiring harness should have black and white wires (Perhaps white with a faint yellow stripe) and "should" fit onto your new pump assembly's fuel level sensor connector with the white/blue wires. Otherwise, yes, make up matching 2 pin auto plugs. [edit: earliest wring harnesses also have a similar connector for the early electric petcock with yellow-blue and black wires. DO NOT connect your fuel level sensor to this connector!] Your existing fuel pump wires (red-black and black) have ring terminals and will have to be re-routed to connect with the new pump wiring (red and black wires). You will have to make up a matching connector set unless you happen to have a harness side connector to fit the new fuel pump connector. [NOTE: wire colors are from the 1999-2001 Sport diagram. The 2002/2003 "carryover" harness does have slight variations. If anyone has a 2002 wiring diagram, that will apply to @Grim's 2003-carryover harness.]1 point

I have the tank all sorted, hoses done and test fit successful....but, I am trying to find on the wiring diagram which wires are the fuel level sender and which are the pump. I have a 2 pin connector on the tank that seems to match the connector on the bike that was for the fuel level sender, however the other wires coming off the tank are blue and white, and weedy looking, probably not high enough amp for the pump. So common sense says the thin blue and white wires are the sender, the red and black are the pump, and it is coincidence that the pump plug on the tank matches the sender plug on the bike!!!??! Should I just find some 2 pin auto plugs and start again, not re-using anything?1 point

Yeah, aircraft hardware can be in difficult places. "$5 for a bolt, and 2 hours labor to change it???" Tools that are designed to pass warranty will have big radii at the base, thick walls, and just barely enough flat to do the job. I should take a picture of a Snap On, antique Craftsman, and modern to show this..1 point

I would like one of each please. Will pay in Gold or Bit Coin as needed. Those color combos are just amazing. Ciao1 point

I was thinking if anyone had that V11EE, it might be parked between a Riviera and an elephant-motor Mopar in some secret Norwegian location . . . That would be IPA-time, indeed!1 point

Reasonably nice V7 cafe custom, being prepped for a new owner and some track time.1 point

...later when they reminisce about the mighty V11 in years from now around about the time the oil is running dry - they'll speak with awe of the legend that was the last of the V8 Interceptors ...er, sorry, the last of the V11's - the mighty Scura R. Music is suspect, but great bike action in this clip Whatever the number (how are you certain it's 18?), the fact that it is "the last of the V11's" is an element of its individuality and also being manufactured under Aprilia management seems to have improved the quality control issues. I'm not worried about my VIN as you are backstreets - after all, anybody can read when it's parked up, so for what it's worth mine is ZGUKTB0104M112037. In any event seems like I'll be in a club of "one" as I've just returned home to Oz and bought my Scura R and other bikes with me. I was a bit nervous about it all as I'd read previously Roper had problems getting permission for his earlier Scura and eventually left it in the States ending up selling it. How will I feel riding to the beach on the solitary Scura R in Australia...1 point
