  1. Hi everyone, I was a member on here until 2010, and had a red V11, CX53 EPA. She was a casualty of a divorce, but I’m trying to find out what became of her. cheers

  2. I just recorded the sum total of my Fork knowledge to date in my personal "data base", here's a copy. There is of course much more to know and for me to learn. Any additional data appreciated. 3. Here's some interesting translated info from a German site I'm also on. I'm quoting from a long time poster there who was in the motorcycle business in Europe apparently. Probably not worth getting too carried away with "numbers" and "specialness" in the Guzzi world. Same with Ducati, there're Italian, the "Limited edition" and "model production numbers" rules are lets say, flexible. "It's like with the elves, the first 300 Rosso Mandello were limited with number and certificate, the next hundreds were only limited editions without numbers, Scura supposedly built the same only 600 pieces, we had the number 672 in the store at that time"

  4. Y'all boys can make threads hard to save . . . "Hamstring" definition + Gastrocnemius + Gluteus Maximus + etcetera = greater impact than barends and exhaust tape. I mean, of course, there is not even a "Big Block."

  5. 2004 V11 Ballabio Handlebars, Upper Triple Plate, Handle bar mounts wanted Looking for original upper triple plate, handlebars (grey preferred), and handlebar mounts for 2004 V11 Ballabio. My Ballabio came with the Lemans upper triple clamp, Lemans clipons, and speedo/tachometer relocated further forward. Apparently the dealer at the time had two customers, one wanted a Lemans with Ballabio bars, other wanted Ballabio with Lemans bars, so they accommodated both by swapping. I bought the Ballablio shortly after it was sold new, and did not even realize this was not the stock set up. I really like the current set up, but would like the original Ballabio set up so I can swap to that for some really longer multi day rides where my arthritis starts coming into play (67 years old). Appreciate any help or leads on who may have a set of these they may want to sell, as some people may have removed Ballabio set up to install Lemans set up. 6. what is even more surprising, or at least it is to me because I am discovering it, is the amount of people complimenting on the Guzzi.... I have guys rolling down their windows at traffic lights, to tell me how nice the bike looks! The best one was when I was in Paris. I parked the bike to register at the Hotel office, and when I came back, I had a bunch of admirers around the bike.

  10. It is certainly a fast bike, but not a looker like the V11. Some Ducati's are good looking, but some aren't. That one is probably fun to ride, but not one you would look at your own reflection at a traffic light and smile.

  11. Here's the official presentation of the V4 Pikes' Peak by Ducati.... After watching the video, I would be tempted to try it, just to verify the truth of the statements. However, Ducati or not, the V11 will always rule!!!

  12. I bought the used one you refered to. It seem that 2975915 Cal 2/3/1100) and 375910 (Centauro) has the same switch part - but another cable connection. Maybe I can buy one of them and change connector? Thanks for info anyway. Maybe someone else will be happy about this latest info. Rolf

  14. My knowledge on this is sketchy hence my recent research on the matter. Notice the 2 different P/N's for the axle. I suspect those are the numbers for the first KR bikes with the axle nut and for your bike with the threaded fork on the LHS. Two different axles. The later KT bikes has a different axle again or 25mm with once again a nut on the end and no threaded fork. It's this 2001-2002 period that the 40mm forks changes and then they went to the 43mm forks once again with the nut retention for the KT variant. I believe a 2003 bike should have the later 43mm forks and a retaining nut style axle and 25mm bearings on each side and a plain inner wheel spacer but the "Model year" confusion around this time which I thought was an American thing with 2002 left over bikes re designated 2003 or something so I don't take "model years" too seriously. If anyone has a pair of 43mm fork legs and an axle for sale I'd be interested. Ciao

  16. Can’t remember how I’ve got this information floating around in my head - but I seem to recall someone mentioning the handlebars are a shared Aprilia item.

  18. Interesting. I’m always highly skeptical of the snake oil products and how they can get a good or bad reputation over time. Like you say, just one situation, but still an interesting data point, that you got the bubbles…. I’ve used it for quite a few years, and will say that its been fine for me, but of course there’s no proper control set on my end. A number of bikes every year get it, and none of them have issues, but A) I’ve not had a control set of bikes of the same type and conditions that didn’t have the additive to compare, and b) a few of the bikes already had various damage from ethanol from the past which somewhat muddies the “test” waters. a much stronger data set was all my household equipment, mowers, blowers, chippers, chainsaws, etc., which i changed over to clear premium only at some point a number of years ago when i learned i could get the clear gas, and like a light switch the following spring all of them operated perfectly as if they hadnt’ been sitting all winter, compared to the headaches i had with most of them after using ethanol/gas in the past. But no startron in that data set. I do always put the V11’s (and other bikes) away in the winter with mostly clear premium in them. I’ll run the last couple tanks through in the fall with that expensive ethanol free gas, leaving only a very small dilution of ethanol in them, to which i also add some startron, and doing that i have zero issues with paint on my 2 LeMans or the other Italians over the years. The Greenie has the damaged paint on the tank, but it came to me that way. Fwiw.

  19. What footgoose sez. FWIW, I put star-tron in a Rosso's tank for winter layover/not much riding, and ended up with the hated bubbles in the finish under the decals. I know.. that's anecdotal evidence, but that was the last bottle I bought..
