Once again the sage advice from this forum has saved me countless hours and probably some $$$. 3 weekends ago while riding my 03 Le Mans home I experienced fading dash lights, followed by a dying tach, and 5 miles later a backfiring engine. Didn't quite make it home. After checking the fuses, testing the Omrons, and then the alternator (thanks to all contributors in this topic!), it was clear that it was likely the regulator/rectifier. I placed my order with ElectroSport. But here's where I can make a small contribution - the Guzzi OEM regulator/rectifier changed in early 03, and has different connectors and no low voltage warning light (see attached photos from MG Cycle website). I sent these photos to Kyle at ElectroSport and followed up with a call. Their 03 version did not come with these connectors stock, but he was happy to modify it for me, and also tie-off the accessory wires for the warning light. So it was 100% plug and play when it arrived. I installed it Saturday and after a 90 miles ride my Odyssey battery measured 12.63v - seems all is good. Thanks again to everyone for making this a simple repair! Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk3 points

Public holiday here in Melbourne ( although I'm in regional Victoria, the company is based in Melb ). So before the heat kicks in and every man and his dog starts heading back for work tomorrow. I fired the bike up and went to see Dad and my brother for the first time since late June...! Bloody Covid. Neat 200 k ish round trip, great ride and virtually had the good road to myself on way in and only hit light traffic 10 or so kays from home... WooHoo! Anyway the temp is creeping up now and looks all set for the first dip in the pool since last summer... So Dip and Sip, Dip and Sip ... repeat till wobbly boot sets in and time to retire to the balcony... Not a bad caper this! Cheers Guzzler3 points

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/crighton-cr700w-motorcycle-brings-rotary-125800772.htmlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4UeqXktmOgThe automotive world hasn't seen a rotary engine in production since the Mazda RX-8 was axed in 2012. However, the Crighton CR700W is bringing it back in spectacular fashion in a machine billed as the "ultimate track bike."In fact, the engine claims to have one of the highest specific power outputs of any naturally aspirated engine in the world. The dual-rotor mill displaces just 690cc, but generates 220 horsepower at 10,500 rpm (and 105 lb-ft at 9,500 rpm), which translates to 319 horsepower per liter. By comparison, the company says, most MotoGP race bikes make around 300 hp.There are many advantages to a rotary engine. For one, it's extremely compact and needs fewer parts than a conventional piston motor, and the one in the Crighton is comprised of just three moving parts. Due to its simplicity, the entire assembly weighs just 53 pounds. Even with its six-speed gearbox attached, the unit comes in at just 95 pounds.Combined with a Spondon-derived chassis made from 7000-series aluminum alloy and Dymag carbon fiber wheels, the entire CR700W weighs just 285 pounds. Even a Ducati Superleggera V4 tips the scales at 336 pounds, and it beats even the supercharged Kawasaki H2R in power per pound. The sticker starts at £85,000 ($116,130)2 points

FWIW, I would expect my Odyssey to read 12.63v (~85%) after it sat for a week. After a sustained ride, like 90 miles, charging at 14.2 volts, I would expect it to be over 13 volts slowly falling off to a hopeful 100% (12.84v) after a few hours sitting.2 points

Seem to remember back in the Norton Rotary days the displacement measurement is open to question and can be measured different ways, can't be a****d looking it up Is it just me, it looks awfully long, especially swing arm Still a lot of nice tech and very interesting. Greta T's in town at the moment When you're just back from the Dyno after a remap and doorbell goes2 points

I'll top off the Odyssey on the charger and see what reading I get, and then keep an eye on it after rides. I don't know if draining it down so low on that fateful ride home had any negative affect on it (no pun intended). I did charge it for 48 hours after I got it home that day. I would say it's pricy but it's a superlight track bike with 220hp and 105ft lbs. That's almost motogp numbers for just over $100k.1 point

G'day mate Yep we've had some of the worst Covid restrictions here in Victoria, but they are loosening now as you mention. I can imagine it would be a logistical nightmare to get in here at the moment still though ! The weather's been pretty crazy of late but definitely getting better slowly and we have some great riding just out of Melbourne eh!! Would've been a hoot to catch up and show you some of them... Cheers Guzzler Ps I hear you about the rain, we've had plenty of it too ha ha1 point

Just received new fuel pump from MG cycle for Goldie, and hope to install this weekend, though it will pretty much still just sit even when fixed till next summer with the weather change here, and the fact that Red is my go-to rider… Guzzler, we’re (our company) just about to finish a deal to buy a plane from a company in Melbourne. Was hoping to weasel into getting over there to bring it over to the US, but the covid rules, although loosening now, are still tricky, so we’ll probably just get a crew from over there to bring it to us. Would love to rent a bike over there and poke around for a day or three, during your spring. Fun to think about riding down there as i look outside at the gray/rain each morning now…1 point

A tidy package of things of beauty arrived today. Will they work? We will soon see. Substantial little things at 20.25 grams, or 311 grains, which is a pretty good bullet. The question remains: is it live, or is it Memorex?1 point

Nope, not the one I'm looking at. Here's the Delta image of the 2 maps, a std V11 Sport from 2000 and the Titanium 15M map. So a differences comparison between the 2. As you can see, variations are zero. Ciao Base map Titanium1 point

I love this guy's wit and humor. What a love of life and uplifting spirit. This may be the only virtuoso performance I have seen not interjected with his splendid comedy. Just magnificent.1 point
