  1. Just back from a short 80 mile ride around the Derbyshire hills this afternoon, stopped in Matlock for fish n chips, parked the V11 next to the old red telephone kiosk

  2. Just back from a 1000 miles trip with the LeMans over 11/12/13, the plan was to do all the remaining MGToT stops to get me to 50. Unfortunately, it did not pan out as planned as I ran into my first V11 technical issues. I only got back last night late, and I will post the usual report under the dedicated thread. I have now 13,000 miles on the odometer, starting from the initial 8865. Of course, I did ride the bike before the odometer was fixed, and there is no telling how long that odometer had been disabled for. Still, I did in 7 months much more than the bike had allegedly recorded from 2004 until 2020 when I purchased it. Hopefully, I will still be able to add much more...

  3. They have removed all the telephone booths in Paris; admittedly they were never as landmarkish as those UK ones. But when it rained, they were still useful!!!

  4. Neat stuff. So who is the real artist? Nicolas Draeger? Lorenzo Eroticolor?

  5. Well, now that I am best friend with the guys at the Anthese printing plant, I can always ask them. The lithography art printing business is in the hands of a few, and these guys would maybe know there competition. Who knows if they could get the dyes and authorization to reproduce...

  7. In regards to the use of titanium fasteners, I see the benefit when used in unsprung wieght, axles, brake rotor bolts etc but really find it hard to justify the use of them on a wieght saving basis with sprung wieght. If I was that wieght conscious then putting myself on a diet would be a far more successful solution - for me and the bike. Chris.

  8. Very tasteful! I would still love to find a source for lithographs of the Ettore Gambioli work featured in Moto Guzzi 1921-2021, produced by FBA MotoItaliane . . . Example: If anyone can find of source of these Gambioli works lithographed or finely printed . . . @p6x ??

  9. Yes pretty much all except the 10mm suspension bolts and engine mount bolts. If you turn the heads out on a titanium fastener you're doing something wrong. The beauty of them is they look exactly the same after 50 years as they did the day they were made. If your keeping your bike long term they are worth the money and if you don't then you just spend an hour or so refitting the original bolts when you sell it and use them on the next bike. The majority of fasteners on just about all bikes is M6X25. I can tell you one thing, aircraft don't use any stinking SS fasteners. I'd use a passive plated steel bolt over a SS one every day of the week. Ciao

  10. Only that it makes a poor material for a fastener. It's a boating world thing and they need something that can survive a salt laden environment so put up with the negatives. If you want the gold standard in a fastener then use Titanium. All my bikes have a high percentage of Ti fasteners. Light, strong and ductile so they stretch and hold their tension. SS is too hard and lacks ductility so they don't stretch well so lose tension. Ducati tried them as engine cylinder studs at one time and I mean "one time" and had a recall to replace them after they started failing and they were 10mm studs about 180mm long. Junk for fasteners. Ciao

  11. Had no issues with stainless, but I only use them on light torque places. Check the sharpness of the treads of the stainless bolts, a fine file, or some 500 paper and a brush, just me. I use some alu smear for the clean trads in the block. Coud ad 20% of torgue, so nice and easy does it. And Valpolini gaskest where possible. Cheers Tom.

  12. I love this guy's wit and humor. What a love of life and uplifting spirit. This may be the only virtuoso performance I have seen not interjected with his splendid comedy. Just magnificent.
