  1. Isn't it strange that the percieved value of V11 parts is so much higher than the actual price people are willing to pay; Nothing ever sells at the prices people set, I have a friend in the the trade who cannot shift Guzzi parts at the prices he sets, some sit on Ebay for years. I just sold an early tank with all the bits for £70 ($94), yet the frequent asking price for this is often over £200 ($270), even with scratches/bits missing. I know demand isn't that high, but I guess a if you play the waiting game... Me? I was advised by high command that the shed needed to be more empty, ASAP.

  3. I've used eBay since nearly it's beginning. It was simple, the people were honest, and cheap. Now, it's a nightmare; fees are high, flooding by new product makes finding pearls difficult, 'sponsored' product pushes your searched items out, can't even find the 'used' condition button without scrolling. It's so blatantly engineered to capitalize volume at the expense of your economy that I won't even list anything I can't get $20 for, when I used to list anything I thought someone would want usually starting at $0. I can't imagine trying to make a living on eBay (as my neighbor does, and quite a decent living too) So I cut some slack to those listing used parts at 'ridiculous' prices, because they're running a business, at least of sorts. But I lament the days of people just trying to help their hobby community by not throwing parts in the bin. Done crying for now...

  4. Afternoon all. Figured I would chuck in a post here to introduce myself. The names Kevin and I am a confirmed bike cleptomaniac. I have very recently acquired a lime green v11 sport with qd exhaust and high bars instead of clip ons. I'm looking forward to get8ting it out and enjoying getting used to the guzzi feel. I'm sure I will be asking for advice in the near future. Cheers Kev

  5. I'm slowing down with age, probably take me 20 Remove the two Phillips screws that hold the switch onto the lock Tilt out the white contact plate by releasing the odd clip Wipe off the old grease with a shop towel Add fresh Vaseline Replace the contact plate Screw it back on While you are there fasten the wires where they come out the back cover so they don't flex at the solder joints and snap off. You should disconnect the battery Negative but I never do.

  7. Like anything else a part is only worth what someone wants to/ is willing to pay for it at the time. Problem is a lot of folks are out there watching bike prices thinking the market is on an ever upward trajectory, so think parts are going the same way. There will be a point where the arse falls out the market. Saying that I have a spare tank in my garage I need to offload. Now where to list it. 🤔

  8. https://www.tlm.nl/nl/motoren/voorraad/?ccm_paging_p=1 This is the link to the pre-owned bikes. But I think you refer to the classics that they used to have. I think most of this is not in the shop anymore. I do recall hearing something about Teo (former-owner) took a part of these bikes(Airone, Falcone, pre-war models) with him when he moved to Australia. But this is hear-say. The shop is now run by two of his nephews.

  10. I agree with you there, my friend runs a garage/motorcycle breakers and sells all the parts on Ebay.. He just has to wait a loooong time to sell some parts, he's had my guzzi exhausts on there for 2 years now!

  11. I couldn't read the marks on your picture, so I looked at the original pic. It says FRC7C-SR-1, 12VDC, NO 30A, NC 25A, at 14VDC Spec sheet attached. I do like the idea of the wider 4.8mm pins rather than the thin 2.8mm pins 85 & 86 on some Omron relay types. FRC7 Relay.pdf

  12. It was an epic race............... Vali put on a respectable show and the Ducati squad did the same. Cant wait for the next season with Ducati running 8 Desmos on the grid. Ciao

  13. Just posted photo of relay fitted by shop last week. It is very firmly fitted hence photos taken of it in place. V11 has performed faultlessly since they were fitted.

  14. TLM has a lot of old Moto Guzzi bikes, I am wondering if they are just for show or for sale... do you know? I have kept going to The Netherlands from H'town because Amsterdam was the only European gateway to Atyrau and Astana. I used to also go back to Alkmaar because I love cheese.... https://www.kaasmarkt.nl/en

  17. Early Sport and Rosso Mandello very definitely benefit from a High Current relay in Position #1 (Start) as well as Position #5 (Fuel/Ignition). Yet, there is some wisdom in running the same High Current 5-pin relays in all positions where they will all run cooler, last longer, and be available as ready spares to swap if needed. Presently, the most available high current relay was discovered by @p6x from CIT Relay and Switch, available from various suppliers:

  18. Hi p6x, I think TLM is good if you are passing by anyway, but as a goal of a trip it might not really live up to your expectations. At the other hand, if this would be the dealership where you rent your Guzzi, all fits perfectly together. In your case it would be nice to see some vintage car show, one of the biggest is in the city of Vianen, somewhere in the second half of June (in the non-COVID years). For bikes there is a nice National Veterans Treffen in september.
