  1. The air intake temp sensor should be in a position to measure the air going into the air filter. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19764-hey-you-guys-with-air-pods-and-ecus/#elControls_216472_menu DD mounted a sensor I made for him above the rear shock. Pictures and ride report here: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19831-air-temp-mod-for-no-air-box/ The longer sensor is just the equivalent thermistor wired to an extended loom, with the last 100mm or so stiffened with a 3mm steel welding rod, covered with heat shrink. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/20032-pods-what-size/&do=findComment&comment=222872

  2. ". Running them in parallel wouldn't work." So run them in series. Use a thermostatically controlled fan?

  3. I think a test run without the bodywork is in order. Then you you would have a reference as to what the enclosed bodywork is doing to your temps. If the temps are greatly reduced then you would know what the problem is ...sort of. If there is no significant change or ....say less than 5 or 10 degree, I would start looking at how to mount a bigger cooler. Setrab makes very good coolers and even getting a slightly larger one could make the difference. Or .....sell me the Daytona !!!!! That is one Beautiful Motorcycle !!!!

  5. https://jagg.com/products/vertical-fan-10row Fan-assisted Vertical 10-row Oil Cooler System PART # 751-FP2600 Default Title - $ 575.00 USD It's just a thought, but if your air cooled engine is not cooled enough by air flow restrictions then artificially boost it. I think that in your case a fan is a must as it assists what finnage you already have on the engine as well as it only applies itself above certain temps. Chris.

  8. Just had a spare front fender resprayed. Legnano green and white base. Some say silver base. Only cost me 60$. I say it's looks very simular. I might do it again with silver base. Lighting will fool you. IPA time [emoji482]. Cheers Tom Sent fra min SM-A525F via Tapatalk

  9. A starter motor is almost a short circuit so if it locks up its probably pulling 250 Amps or More, I measured the starter on my VII once and found it drawing in the 150 - 170 Amp range. Any DC motor with brushes is also a generator, as it spins its producing a Voltage in the opposite direction to the battery, this is known as Back Electromotive Force (Back EMF for short), the faster it spins the less current it draws. Of course if its not spinning the only thing the limits the current is the load resistance and the batteries internal resistance. Its quite easy to measure the starter current all you need is a shunt made of regular wire and a cheap multimeter with a millivolt range. I'm sure there's a copy of my home made shunt sketch on here somewhere.

  13. According to the Parts Catalog for the 1999-2001 V11, the oil feed to the cooler is from the outboard (most right side) port/hose.

  14. Yes, I typically found it around 145 kph/ 90 mph passing a semi-tractor-trailer rig on our interstates. I found it to be from a combination of factors: the factory Pirelli Dragon tires were soft combined with low tire pressures (33 fr/ 37 rr), spring rates too soft for my weight, too much "sag"/ too little preload (especially the rear), too little damping. Increasing the damping on the steering damper made this worse. All combined with the short RedFrame (yet, this one does not have the suspect earliest triple trees with the alleged 0,5ยบ steeper rake). In short, it was just too soft in every way to be stable in those conditions at that speed. Addressing all of these contributors solved the weave entirely without introducing any twitch or wobble.
