  2. Yes the pre 98 are my favorite, like the SP you've posted. I didn't care for what came after. The SP was better equipped than the CR but I preferred the half fairing look.. I like to see motors.

  3. This sexy beast is currently in the showroom at Pro Italia motorcycles in Glendale, California. If you’re in the area, I encourage you to go see it in person. It’s really lovely. I have never seen an MGS-01, but this may be the closest I get. They are asking $30k. I may start playing the lottery. I’ll need a big win to buy this beauty and to pay for the divorce that will be sure to follow.

  4. The bags are Givi knock offs, the expandable type. Not the same quality as the hard bags on the Multi Strada. The the bolts in the brackets can shear. Most owners (myself included) have those bolts tapped to a larger size. Despite that, they can hold a fullface helmet (unlike a Goldwing) and are serviceable for most trips. Other than that, it's been as reliable as a Honda. By comparison, I've ridden the 2nd Gen SS and it's quite a bit more aggressive in the riding position vs the new bike. The new bike has a very comfortable seat and the riding position is more relaxed than the V11 Sport.

  5. I think this is a way better looking design and has a much better engine. Mine has a few enhancements like big bore headers, carbon sump fairing and guards, magnesium engine covers, disk rotors, Ohlins steering damper and shock, Dell West Titanium valves. Red Ducatis are so passe.

  6. These are one of the few motorcycle that still look really attractive with factory panniers fitted. Very nice lines. Ciao

  7. Frankly, I really don't think we are a good bet on the innkeeper "blocking off rooms," being the slippery bunch that we are. Seriously, if you really do want to make the Eighteenth South'n SpineRaid, weekend after Labor Day 2022, it is not too soon to reserve a room (and a space in the garage! ). https://lodgeattellico.com/

  9. No the ST2 was red, the TT2 was red, the 1198 is red, the bevel 750 Sport was yellow, the Hailwood Mille was red white and green, the 750 GT was Bronze, the 750 Sport belt engined bike was Matt Black then red, the 1098 was red. That's just the Ducati's. I've owned my fair share of red bikes it's fair to say I actually wanted a Black 1198 but one wasn't available at the time. When I bought the 1000ss I also wanted a red one as well and have a full set of bodywork and a good second hand tank ready to paint red which was my intention. I then about 5 or 6 years later went to a motorcycle gathering and on display was a couple of 1000ss bikes in red and was actually happy mine was yellow. Not that yellow would have been my first choice but it seems that red is a very "safe" choice for a bike colour but it dates a bit quickly I think. Each car or bike has it's 'best colour" whatever that may be. I wouldn't choose a car in the yellow the 1000ss is as to me it's not really a colour for a car with so much painted area. My old Monaro was blue and that colour looked great on it but it didn't look good at all on the sedan or ute version of that model. my Focus RS in Blue Ciao

  10. Your a naughty boy Scud and do appreciate you as well as all members in assisting me when possible. Of all those members as well as others outside of this group I would hope you felt you were treated with courtesy respect and discretion throughout the entire transaction/s. and ScudI I do appreciate your acknowledgement of my many years of hunting for these machines I desire But you must know I am a private person with nothing to prove to any one. If I could ever figure out how to present decent photo representations of these machines one day I would be more than willing to show those who have interest. Docc; You know I speak the truth. g Gentleman

  11. If memory serves me it was a 98 or 99 with like 5000 miles and the guy wanted $3800. It sat on craigslist for a month in the middle of summer. I also love the late80's Gsx-R bikes with the big dual headlights. If the guy would have been selling one of these I might never have stumbled on to my v-11. I'm glad I got the Guzzi but this is one sexy bike.
