  1. Here's a little preview of one of my favorite roads... I sent you a message with exactly what road this is.

  3. gonna post another one from this kid. He takes guitar past "talented" ..he has possibly visited the crossroads, and left with the fiddle of gold. He also does covers of Bach and other classic composers with his own arrangements. bear in mind that everything you hear in most of his videos, is coming from his guitar. Truly amazing. Here's a short one..

  4. Returning from thread drift>>> I posed a question about Grisos in another thread that garnered no attention. Will try again here. I seem to remember when Griso leftovers were around. My search on cycletrader.com today had just 2 Grisos listed -- an '07 and a '17 (the prior with reasonable miles and great condition for under $4K). Are these ending up in the hands of people who appreciate them? Anyway, question is this: would you buy an '07? On paper, seems like the 8V is the way to go.

  8. @Scud Nice! I appreciated that you had not installed your camera on your helmet but on the bike. I can tell your know that road quite well. I did spot a cyclist coming the other way, in a climb. When I road the Twisted Sisters, very early in the morning, dawn, I came upon a group who were in a steep climb, spread enough so I had to use the opposite lane as a runaway escape. I was within the posted speed limit, but these guys were going so slow, and invisible until they were no longer. I have a plan to do a video cast of the sisters, but I am now going to be extremely careful. Even at 15 mph, finding a cyclist in the wrong spot is dangerous. I like there aren't any guard rails for the most part of the road you rode on.

  9. Correct, 157 mV completely closed: no throttle rod, no idle stop screw, no interference from the high idle mechanism (release this last), clean throttle bore, with the throttle plate pressed fully closed (I like Lucky Phil's zip-tie suggestion). The tolerance in the Workshop Manual is given in Degrees of Opening: 3.6º +/- 0.5º If that percentage can be applied to the 157 mV value, the tolerance would be +/- 21.8 mV . . . That impresses me as really broad and undesirable. With how fiddly the value is being affected by the tightening procedure, I am generally satisfied with 150-157 mV. I used to think once set it is done, but there are enough wear changes in that system to revisit it with each tune-up (specified at 6000miles/10000km, but I prefer 5000miles for my worn-out ol' Sport).

  10. Worn throttle body bushes don't help accurate setting of the TPS. See my thread on re bushing the throttle bodies. I also tie wrap throttle blade fully closed ( firmly but not too hard) when I set the TPS Ciao

  11. I could never get over the stupid valve cover extensions/oversized covers thing, then cut bloody great chunks out of the fuel tank so they fit. Looks like something the Guzzi social club came up with after a long lunch when the styling department were made redundant. Ciao

  12. Docc FYI The OBD II to usb cable I ordered from ESCTuning didn't work for me. I suspect it doesn't have the correct FTDI 232RL chip despite being listed as such on their website. At Paul's suggestion I ordered the Lonelec kit and was able to hook up with my MacBook. Both cables use the same FTDI driver. My recommendation is to forget other sources and just order from Lonelec in the UK. A bit more shipping time but they're garanteed to work.
