Thought positive was a good thing, obviously not concerning covid. No problem, usually in the cave this time of the year anyway. Dunlop Sport Smart fitted, titanium bolts for driveshaft, finished regulator upgrade, extra 70amp start relay, cleaning job coming along. Stay healthy guys. Cheers Tom. I don't know at this time...maybe a bad bearing? I just am thrilled to get a non cracked case with lots of spares to boot for less money that I would have to pay a good welder. I will replace all the seals and look inside when I get the gearbox:)2 points

YAHOOO, bought the gearbox, no cracks and is supposed to be a low miles working gearbox:) Thanks to all of you , L.2 points

Personally I'd invest in a Dye check kit and learn how to use it. My gearbox that I stripped and reassembles was cracked but not visible to the naked eye and showing no signs of leakage. I dye checked it found the hairline crack and weld repaired and re enforced the area and stress relieved the other mount areas that are stress raisers. My original gearbox isn't showing any signs of cracking or leaking either but you can be sure I'll be dye checking it in the future to be sure and then removing the stress raisers before any further use. Yea I see the suspicions created by the image but I wouldn't conclude it's cracked 100%. Worth asking the question. Ciao1 point

It looks to me that it was pressure washed and the residual grime is concentrated around the RH lug. I found a few reports of RH lugs being cracked....Still waiting for the seller to feedback.1 point

^^^^^ You must have seen what I posted, then deleted, when I saw that it was a dead link ... from 2016. Off to ride now on this nice day before the snow falls tomorrow. Bill1 point

[moderator's note: Lots of the older image links are broken. Sometimes, I have been able to restore them. Yet, if you find one of your links gone dead, it is much appreciated if you restore it . . . ]1 point

I wrote them about 2 things. We are usually 5-7 hours behind for most of the races, so it's always delayed. I told them to 1) put it on at the same time, 2) take breaks with notice and resume the action after the break. Costs them nothing since it's on paid programming channel on the weekends. Now when BEiN had it, it was all live. Quals and races all classes. Set the record and watch until your heart's content.1 point

I like that she speaks with the northern accent, typically she does not roll the "R" like Italian do. She uses the throaty "R", like transalp cousins.1 point

I watch the BSB on Eurosports and they have adds in the middle of races and you can lose 5 laps of the race. The classic was once they went to an add break and the last 2 min of the break was a "famous last lap battles" from a WSB race about 15 years ago. So these complete morons at Eurosport thought it would be a great idea to lose about 2 laps of a CURRENT BSB race to air the last lap and a half of a 15 year old WSB race you can view on Youtube any time you like, WTF. Is Europsport run by 15 year olds or something! Ciao1 point

Remember, the Moto Guzzi EV is designated "V11" as well, but runs the 5speed gearbox and Tonti-style frame.1 point

I got the call today.... My Le Mans is ready; March 10th, 2022 minus January 27th, 2022 = six weeks as told. Perfect timing!1 point

So what forks did you install the Andreani units in? were they originally damper rod forks? black or silver stanchions? Year model? Andreani don't list carts for the earlier 99-2000 models I think due to the axle bracket fitting internally suited to the damper rod style fork. Ciao1 point

Ok here the follow up. I took my courage (I am new at TIG welding) in hands and built a bracket which I welded to the frame. Then installed the bracket I got from Motivcycle works. As an experiment and to give me more time to find another gearbox /solution I have JB fixed the crack really cleaning it well beforehand. I will feedback and let you know if it is going to leak again....or not:). Also I made a spacer for the gearbox mount, it fits between the lugs and prevents any tension when tightening the bolt P.s tried to buy a new housing and no one sells them anymore. Now it's either welding or getting a good second hand box. Here some pictures https://1drv.ms/f/s!AvMw5i-09AkLwAf796UfANGWc3b_1 point

Hi Phil, sorry man unfortunately I can’t be much help there, the previous owner had them fitted quite a few years ago- I’m not even sure about how the adjustments work on them! I was going to contact Maxton to see whether they have info that’d be useful for me. Mine could be a bit tired by now, i don’t know, but i’m much lighter that the po so perhaps not an issue? Have to say, with all the various bits of suspension i’ve tried over the years on the v11, the best return for me has been making sure the tyre pressures were bob on!1 point

I was wondering how they sealed these spoke nipples. So blind nipples with an oring on the OD that seals in a bore hole in the rim. So what 36 spokes/rim x 2 rims = 72 spokes and orings with matching rim holes, made in Italy. What could possibly go wrong, lol. Ciao1 point

Nip over to the Stelvio thread on ADV rider and give a shout out to @Doc. over there. He has 17" wheels on his Small Tank Stelvio and can almost certainly give you the 'Good Oil' as he is very competent and far from stupid.1 point

Wasn't trying to correct just clarify docc. It's just a bit confusing if you're not aware and revolutions can be mixed up with rpm. Ciao1 point
-
Thanks for the clarification, @Lucky Phil! I knew I only had that "close" while stating RPM instead of "revolutions" was nonsensical on my part.1 point

As great and hot as these pics are, I keep coming back to Ann-Margret as the ultimate Guzzi girl. I know these pics have been posted before, but look in her eyes, and the lines of her body on the bike. She’s one with the bike, the power of the bike is coming through her. She really knew how to work a camera. And she really loved riding motorcycles. Mmmmmm.1 point

Enter at your own risk!: https://www.cyclegarden.com/guzzi_girls.php He also does some nice loop frames.1 point

BUDDY GUY I took my daughter to see him last night at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. All the "old folks" who were there early went to the tables with seats. So we walked right up to the stage and had an memorable "front-row" experience. Buddy even took my daughter's hand and had her strum his guitar in the middle of a song. He is a phenomenal showman and story teller. If you don't know Buddy Guy and his influence, check out his wikipedia page. At age 86, he is a literal living legend. So many potential songs to choose from... but here is one. The keyboard player and second guitar player in this video are still with him and played the gig last night.1 point

Vinyl! After many years of listening to CDs, and then to streaming, I am finally back to listening to lovely analog vinyl records! Yay! How I went for so long away from this is a shame. I recently scored a second hand system, cleaned it up and got it going. It’s a Technics SL-QD33 turntable through a Nakamichi SR-4A receiver, and a pair of Vienna Acoustics Mozart model loudspeakers. These speakers sound really good. The system is in the lower level of the house yet fills the whole house with sound. Everything sounds so much better. I was also able to acquire a nice collection of classical recordings, and am in the process of finding records. It’s really great to be able to listen again to some of the records that I grew up with:1 point

The ride starts Place Vendôme, where all the famous jewelers have a shop, follows to La Concorde via rue des Tuileries. Riding in Paris on a bike used to be one of the best ride you could ever experience in a life time. Especially early in the morning when few cars were present. And she is wearing Alcantara, which does not sag as leather does. I concur that she is not the one riding the bike. If my memory serves me right, squeezing the clutch required a strong hand on the older Ducatis.1 point

I think the guy meant that a race weekend shouldn't be a test session. (*edited, mistakenly I attributed to wrong rider and team) *Thanks for the prompt Gary. My mind is jelly from trying to do my taxes manually from with no hard copy instructions.0 points
