Grand son Max, 19, is visiting on Spring break from Iowa State. He was looking at our ancient stereo stuff, and asked if it still worked. He has heard that vinyl is the best.. We had a flood many years ago, and literally hundreds of my LPs were involved. The bottom 2 inches are stuck to the sleeve, or have residue on them. He said he would try cleaning and see if it would do any good. It didn't. However, I had a virgin vinyl Steely Dan that was in a plastic sleeve that was undamaged. Put it on the B&O, and he was enthralled. "It sounds like they are in the room. If you've never heard it, you won't understand.." Probably created a monster..

Bitubo also on my 2003 Rosso Corsa. The Bitubo was as far as I know the original standard equipment on the Rosso Corsa throughout its production.

Looks like a good adventure. And totally fine to post Triumph pics. Glad you found some of the fun back roads and it looks like you went by the camel dairy on Old Julian Highway. I keep meaning to take a tour and maybe buy some camel cheese or whatever they do with camel milk. I went up Mount Palomar yesterday on my Stelvio. There is still some snow above 5,000 feet - so you probably did well to avoid the town of Julian when you were here. @docc a chocolate bologna sandwich? That's precious...

So there's an official WP service center about 20 minutes from home- the local KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas dealer. I was going to call, but drove over instead; asked 'hey can you do these old WP forks?' he says, 'sure, what are they from? Bring them in' So I bring them in to the counter, he looks weirdly at them and asks again what they're from. I tell him, '97 Moto Guzzi. He says, 'you won't believe this but I have forks and shock apart on the bench in back from a '97 Moto Guzzi.' So is there a forum member from Miami who brought their stuff up to Stuart? $125 plus parts for the forks, $150 plus parts for the shock (later) He asks, 'You want these cleaned up? We can vapor blast the feet and they'll look like new' Well, surely. Glad I didn't fool with them on my own, anyway. ...and while waiting, the kid fell for and bought a Svartpilen 401 lol

Just a guess but I have about 500 LPs (about 6 foot wide stack), probably half as many CDs. At one time I had a better number.

Just bought a MPH riser kit for the Rosso, hopefully ride down this year with Kale (Silver V11).

I recently upgraded my stereo as I've mentioned numerous times since October. As a result, I was able to connect by old Philips turntable. I've been going through vinyl, some of it not played in 35 years. Other than a few pops and scratches inherent in the medium, the sound is awesome. It's interesting to compare the same thing on CD, usb, Bluetooth (from my phone) and LP. Actually with my new receiver, they all sound great. I think I've played one CD in the last 3 months and only to check the connections. I have a couple of dozen LPs on the deck that I've been playing and only 475 more to go.

Further investigation... I just searched Google images and could clearly see a silver Ohlins damper on Scuras, Scura Rs, Cafe Sports, and Coppa Italias. All the Ohlins-equipped bikes with small windscreens had the Ohlins damper - out in plain view. Seems they just saved a few Euros on the fully faired Rosso and Nero Corsas by using Bitubo dampers where they would be hard to see. Very sneaky. FYI - every Bitubo damper I've removed has had a sticky/spot in it. It's a small sample, but it's 4 out of 4 in my experience, including a low-mileage Greenie that I had for while. If you still have an original Bitubo unit, I think it's worth disconnecting the damper to test it's range of motion and make sure it's not working against you.

No tell for sure. Came that way, and po never touched the bike, always supported a Guzzi dealer. Bike has 44000km. Also Bitubo on my Rosso C . around 63000km. Phil has a point. Cheers Tom

I would expect some variation due to the distortion created by frame welding but yours seems to have more than I've experienced of would expect. Has it ever had a front end crash? I'd just use some Loctite bearing mount and if you ever need to remove them then you can just run a bead of arc weld around them on the inner face and they'll fall out even with the loctite. Ciao

Front end day

After being sorted a bit, she’s back to daily rider. An Ohlins shock, Racetech springs, and Road 5s (160 rear) are really working well. 95 is the new 80! That’s MPH, not my age.

We always focus on the twin jugs - we shouldn’t overlook the ease of shaft drive Haha! Sometimes it’s enough - just to have a laugh!

Start buyin' o-rings brother . I have 3 tanks and you better get conservative on your whims !
