MG Cycle- Part #: 02117500. This is the throttle cable for a V10 Centauro. It's 5 inches longer otherwise identical. I also bought a couple 1" hydraulic extensions (SKU:27819) from Helibars.com to help reduce strain on my brake and clutch lines.4 points

I recall reading some mph users have been successful with re-routing stock lines. "Success" is subjective I think. Doing risers on other bikes I have had success sometimes, sometimes not. I would always go into it with the expectation of buying longer lines to complete the job. I sure wouldn't want to compromise flex on a control line/cable. Fortunately for me the LM/Sport stock setup is satisfying.3 points

It's a nice looking pricey piece of kit, but with shipping and my low Canadian dollar, I was a little disappointed in a couple of things for the high price I paid. The 90 degree clutch/brake line fittings are replaced with straight line connectors. They are such a tight fit, you can't easily change the angle and position of the risers/bars without cable interference. What should be very adjustable, for the sake of a couple of bucks in cheaper fittings, isn't., Iirc the instructions talked about rerouting the throttle cable; and also pulling slack out of the wiring harness.with a little slack the wiring routed easily to the front and back through the front of the forks under the triple clamp. For my throttle cable, I've got it similar to what you've got, but it tucks in tight underneath a plastic shroud plate mounted on the front of the spine frame. The cable ends up with a couple of bends back and forth, nothing overly sharp but definitely not as smooth and flowing as I would like. fwiw3 points

There's nothing new here, new tyre constructions favour different bikes and riders. Stoner had the same issue in 2011 or 12 when Bridgestone released a new front carcase during the season and it was a disaster for the Honda and him on corner entry. Same in later years also a few times. The spec tyre is costly for the bike manufacturers as they need to revamp frames and swingarms to suit changes in tyres. You can vary tyre construction at the drop of a hat for pretty much zero additional costs but if they release a new construction that doesn't work with your bike then it's a frame/swingarm redesign and construction. The reality is these days that racing is now all about the "show" and money so Dorna dont care about fairness really. The more unpredictable it is the better for them if it makes the "show" more interesting and exciting. I'm more "the sport is primarily about the competitors and the spectators are secondary to that" If someone or some manufacturer dominates then that probably because they deserve to and the others need to step up. Do I want the Mick Doohan show again, No but the racings a bit of a lottery these days where the rider simply can't dig deep and make up for a less than perfect bike setting or tyre choice or poor starting position from a bad practice or qualifying. Add to that most of the races are a tyre conservation strategy with everyone riding around for 2/3rds race distance nursing tyres waiting for the last 1/3 for when the real racing begins. The more it evolves the closer it's getting to F1 which is to me the most boring motorsport around. Ciao2 points

Pete wrote a great summary of the whole flat tappet fiasco: https://www.grisoghetto.com/t5879-the-definitive-guide-to-rollerisation And here is my video:2 points

LuckyPhil's reminder to consider the cost of replacing the factory parts really puts this in perspective. Especially factoring in shipping costs from the two or three suppliers to get those Guzzi parts . . .2 points

For my son Landon. I know the gasoline ICE purist will not like the fact that its an electric bike, but that's the world young Landon grew up into. The EFTR Jr is a replica of the FTR Carbon, capable of 7mph in low and 15 mph in high settings. It has front and rear brakes with rear adjustable suspension. Learning battery charging management will probably do him well in his lifetime. My first bike was a smoking(literally) Italian made 50cc two stroke, Indian badged import from the 70's, I loved that bike and its still in my parents garage today.1 point

Several aspects of the Indonesian round stand out. The biggest one being the rain, which really mixed things up. Rain always mixes things up, but here we had dry running until the race, even the morning warm up was run in the dry. So it was a learning experience for the racers to figure out how fast they could go in the rain. But also, Michelin brought an old tire construction with a stiffer carcass and that really made a difference. It put Fabio back at the front and it put the Honda's (Marc and Pol) at the back. It seems the new Honda did not like that tire at all, after being fast in the test earlier with the current tire. I really think that is messed up. Honda (who I am not really a fan of) put all that effort into building a bike that works with the new tire and they switch to an old design tire for the race, after having them test the new design tire at the track a few weeks ago. It also highlights the flaw with the spec tire. While in theory everyone using the same tire means the tire aspect is equal, but clearly it is not. The Yamaha doesn't work nearly as well on the new tire spec as it does on the old spec tire. The same with the Ducati. While the Honda doesn't work nearly as well on the old spec tire as it does on the new spec tire. But it seems there is nothing in place to prevent Michelin from bringing whatever spec tire they want to a race weekend. And what spec tire they bring plays a huge part in determining who is fast and who is slow. If they are going to make everyone use Michelin tires, the teams should at least get to choose which Michelin tires they want to use and not be at the mercy of Michelin.1 point

Advertising and agendas have taken over the airwaves and streaming site algorithms try to bend your aesthetics rather than follow them. I've been getting the most pleasure from streaming concerts and albums with an ad-blocking attachment. I still break out the vinyl every now and then, but I'm usually too lazy to go that way. My ears are kinda shot, but analog still sounds more " real" to me....1 point

Joe has the current batch of V11 gears now. 675£, so no big change. Today, that looked like about $890 US. I also asked for the bronze cam flange, so my order comes to 765£ (~$1,008 US)1 point

Right, so, the later cable (GU01117590) has a steel tube in the cable housing on the throttle control end that is bent nearly 90º, while the ShortFrame cable inserts directly with no bend.1 point

The long frame V11 does have a different cable. I bought one by mistake and it would not work on my ShortFrame Sport. The part number was on the system wrong (not sure if that ever got corrected).1 point

radio is talk talk talk.....at least some of the blowhards have moved from politics to sports. Another call out for mentioning your favorite internet station. We've only had two that have been recommended so far.1 point

Although I pined for one in the worst way, I didn't have enough spare cash for a Mattel V-RROOM! ; but I grew up in small town Quebec, so cardboard from cigarette packages were free and plentiful, that and a couple of clothespins mounted on the forks, my Supercycle bike usually had it's own very distinct growl, lol. What I did have, that I loved so much, I wore one out and had to replace it, was a chain/lever/tire friction activated siren mounted on the forks as well. The growl of a cigarette pack and the wail of my siren, pretty intoxicating heady stuff for a young kid; not so sure the neighbors were impressed though.1 point

Doesn't this represent child abuse of some sort? I mean an EV first bike, are you trying to turn him off motorcycling or something? What next, a Fender Stratocaster with rubber strings to protect your hearing. What's the world coming to. Ciao1 point

I got a new one for my Rosso Corsa from AF1 racing a few months ago...Brembo Gold Rear....GU30653001.. ( it says front on their site when you enter it but its the rear..and that is the correct number for a rear) It was only $104.00 dollars complete with new Brembo pads..and they usually have it in their USA warehouse..took about a week.1 point

Yes I'll certainly back you up John on the quality of Joes gears and his commitment to his customers. So rare to find these things these days. having said that there's not a lot to complain about with regards to the chain drive its more a matter of what your feelings are with regards to engineering elegance.
