Platter for you: I got a rear master rebuild kit MG cycle. Front brake and hydraulic clutch rebuild kits are no longer available. Calipers: Caliper rebuild kits are available from Powerhouse.UK Diesel fuel in an ultrasonic cleaner works miracles. It's not a whole lot more expensive to just buy new calipers that include Brembo pads pre-installed. And it's a LOT easier... but it's so fun to install the new seals...2 points

Spoke with Greg today. 50% upcharge on kelvar/carbon color weave (currently available colors are red, blue, and orange). I suggested that there might be a couple folks with Greenies that would like a green weave, but he hasn't been happy with the green -- too yellow. Anyway, if he doesn't have the color in stock, he isn't going to order a whole roll of it. Matte finish to match mufflers, etc., would be by applied finish, not by vacuum method. The backing would be a carbon fibre-looking cloth (he says customers swear he did carbon backing, too) to add some structural integrity. As I mentioned, my existing c/f hump has fiberglass backing, so this should be an improvement if smooth and almost indistinguishable from the outside. @Lucky Phil, maybe there's a way to consolidate a couple items into a shipment to down under if you "need" other things from the States, too?2 points

Photos I produced for a college upper level art class (that I did not belong in). "Fragility" (the light bulbs on the drum head) perhaps suggest the series of Veglia instruments that went by the wayside . . . "Per-SEV-erance" (the car struggling against the logs) speak to my Sport's service to me over all this time. And distance. She deserves Carbon Fiber panties to show off that fine booty . . .2 points

I have had a strict upbringing, and always was taught to never interrupt conversations. I was patiently waiting for a break, but had to bail out.2 points

If color = red, then P6x = 1 or if color <> red, then P6x = 0 Don't really need one, I have one already, but just for support... (my birthday is on March 30th, so I can probably pass it as a birthday present to myself.2 points

I am going to check MPH Cycles if they do Ducati. But when you own a Porsche 911, the going rates to maintain a Ducati will never frighten you. I recently changed all the carpets, with "Porsche" logo embroiled in red; all made in Germany... I am taking the car for an inspection at https://rennsportporscheworks.com/ These guys are the best, they only work on Porsche, and they solved an oil leak than none of the other "generalist" workshop that advertises "expertise" on German exotics could identify. I now only use those "experts" to change oil and do menial tasks. The guys at Rennsport took 5 minutes to diagnose an oil drip that puzzled two generalists, and 30 minutes to change the rubber boots on the spark plugs. Six boots, total 1k USD with work. But they are located in Sealy Texas. Not next door to me. So, bring on the Ducati valve adjustment....2 points

I'll be there all 3 days. Look for dark blue BMW K1600B Grand America, massively farkeled and darksided. I will be doing the track lap also, should be easy to spot in that crowd. Got Turn 15 grandstand tickets in the southernmost section.1 point

Well that pretty much sells it. Depending on the price of the rebuild kits plus shipping against new, it doesn't seem likely- but I probably should have an ultrasonic cleaner anyway. I didn't find a black 16mm master cylinder, but I did see Greg Field say that 15mm worked fine. Prolly new there too, but I can't say that these didn't get their age and miles fairly. Not today's decision, fortunately.1 point

Lucky Phil I agree that the heat cycles would make this a bad idea. To be honest I didn't think it was even possible thus why I originally thought it was some sort of carbon fiber tape wrapped over the OEM valve covers. While this bike is def on the higher end on price, its rare and has a lot of farkles added, very nice example of a V11.1 point

Any chance someone on here has the torque specs for the other bolts/nuts? I am finally getting round to installing a set of Joe's gears, and want to make sure I properly torque it putting it back together. I assume everything gets loctite as well. I don't have any Green loctite, just the standard Blue or Red. Does it need Green? Green sounds similar to Red.1 point

The TPS output is non linier on the V11. The linier version of the same TPS has fixed mounting screw ferrules without slots. Ciao1 point

Thanks, Docc. Looks same as my Mistrals (though mine are ovular). Looks like your V11 is collecting some images?1 point

That sounds right for the mileage, like every 15k or 18k. The Desmo service for my old air cooled 2 valve Hypermotard was around $1000 at a dealer. They do more things than just the valves, and they used expensive MOTUL oil, but that’s on a simpler 2 valve motor with not as much stuff to take off to get to the valves. My valves were also still in spec. To save money, a lot of people will do the bulk of the maintenance items themselves and bring the bike in for just the valves. Check with AMS Ducati, and maybe join the Ducati.ms forum and see if anyone will recommend a good non-dealer Ducati shop in your area as you will probably save some money.1 point

Not a compromise. The model from year 1998 until 2005 was the 996; then 997. https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/911/996/carrera/cabriolet-manual/ If I am not wrong, the valve service is at 15,000 miles. How much is the service? 1k?1 point

Your Porsche was a compromise? Ummmm….ok. $10k for a salvage title is too high. You can find a nice Duc 959 Panigale V2 for around that. One thing to be mindful of: people sell off their Ducatis when they are due for a Desmo valve service or new timing belts, but I don’t think Panigales engines have belts. If the bike is due for a Desmo service (or belts if that applies to the bike you’re considering) factor that into the price of the bike.1 point

No worries, would have not been a bother to interrupt at all, would have been good to put a face to a name and enjoy a conversation. A la prochaine!1 point

I am going to stare at the TPS and contemplate how to make a vernier adjustment so that the reading does not zip from 100Mv to 99 trillion with one tiny slip.1 point

Noise from cam gears is not really an issue. Honda V4's like my old RC30 and VFR750 had gear driven cams and met noise regs for road bikes. They incorporated backlash gears with the cam drive gears to help them run quieter. Ducati Desmosedici's are gear driven cams and are noise compliant road bikes. Lots of engines use a gear and chain hybrid drive for the cams these days. The Caruso gears in the V11 run very quiet. I can hear them but thats because I'm listening for them otherwise I wouldnt be able to tell them from the chain driven cam. Ciao1 point

No docc their std airmail service hasn't been operating to here for probably a year due Covid. To the UK is still ok though and I think AU post to the states is still ok. Just no USPS from the states. Scud posted me a top triple clamp about 3 months ago via his work courier service on corporate rate and it was $75US if I recall. So around 100AU. Ciao0 points
