If the gears Yu have installed are alloy or a combination of alloy and steel I'd take 'em out quick smart.3 points

I must've had it 2014 after the dealer in Newcastle MOT'd it for me. I'm Warrington, yes. I searched high and low for one for years but then had some back surgery, putting biking to one side, when fit again I was determined to own one. If you can pm your number or email if thats allowed, I can fill in a few blanks. Lovely bike, enjoyed it but little time unfortunately. I'd love to see her again some time, I never saw another on the road.2 points

Well, that was a fun race to watch in person at the track, and there were some good passes along the way. Sitting at the top of the hill in Turn 1 afforded a wonderful view of the botched start, the furious speed down the straightaway in front of the grandstands to the crest of the hill and the wonderful lean angles as they make a 150 degree turn...all the while being able to see many of the other turns out over the horizon and a pretty decent view of turns 15/16, coming out of the long curve to 19 and part of 20. Odd to have Moto 2, then Moto GP, then Moto 3 as a race order...I wonder if that's something they are adopting for future races. It was a very blustery day ride up and more so on the way back to Houston, but any sunny day of riding is a good one. At some points the wind reminded me of last year's Cedar Vale, Kansas rally when some of us went riding to Pawnee leaned over at 20 degrees and going straight. Who knew that sailing and motorcycling could be done at the same time! The wind did seem to be affecting some sections of the race track for the riders as they fought side blasts from time to time. Gut feel, but attendance felt very down on Sunday compared to the last 5-6 years I have attended in person, Rossi merchandise was for sale at 50% off, while they were still charging $50 bucks for Marquez T-shirts (too much in my view). Was great to see a few other Guzzis in the parking lot, one white Norge and a Black California. Ducati island drew quite a large crowd Was a fun day at the track all in all, and a nice ride to boot. I thought about capturing one of the Great Tour of Texas points of interest nearby in Creedmor, but decided to do it in a few weeks when I can loop over to Hill country and capture a few more at a more leisurely pace. On to the next race now!2 points

Suzuki already won a championship with Mir only winning one race. And he nearly won the title without winning any races. Marquez did have the pace to run with the leaders. But I am not sure he would have won if he hadn't blown the start. He would have had a shot at it for sure, but a sure thing? No. As it turned out, it was an enjoyable race to watch. And I was happy to see Bastianini win again. I just wish Aleix Espargaro could have done a little better on the Ape. Gotta root for the underdog.2 points

Yes, the part(s) appear the same between the 1100 Sport-i and the V11, with the V11 assembled with the throttle connector inboard and the knob outboard. More accessible, for sure. Perhaps a different length (longer) throttle rod? While the collet portion is not threaded, the "shaft" portion of the snout is were my "loose"/(normal?) threads are. And the tighter threads within the knob portion. I initially thought the collets grip the shaft for the necessary set friction, but careful measurements and inspection say no. They are only there to capture the steel block and allow the knob to spin within it.2 points

Apparently (only apparently so far) they are the same part, but installed in reverse on the Sport and the V11. I won't try to guess what the Italian engineers did with the threads in any case, I've been suckered and lost every bet so far.2 points

Marquez was really lucky to not have hit, or being hit when he completely missed his braking early in the race. He managed to make an emergency exit through a minuscule gap in the traffic. Rins was faster than Enea Bastianini; once again, if the Suzuki had qualified better, the outcome would have been different. I also agree that Marc Marquez would have been fighting for victory had he not had that starting problem on the grid. Making his way through the field all the way up to 6, including a good fight with Fabio Quartararo completed a nice race day. It is now blatant that if you don't start at the top of the grid on race day, it is almost impossible to win.2 points

I'm thinking more a tighter "class" of thread. Bit like cylinder stud fit the crankcases the first half of the thread is neat and they firm up after that due to the class of thread. If you run a std bottoming tap through them they end up loose all the way thats why I don't do that. Ciao2 points

Update....engine runs good stationary. 150 psi comp on both cylinders. It will be a bit before a ride report. fork seals have gone father south than me. shock seals seem to have gone on a trip with the forks. Clutch slave won't hold pressure. Guess I have neglected the old girl. She needs a couple of Spa days and should be good to go2 points

NK03XMU Currently living in a carcoon in my garage. But it’s going back on the road in the next few weeks. I’ve hardly used it during the 2 years that I’ve had it, but currently I’ve got 5 other Guzzi’s and I only put them on the road in the spring & summer. I just tax 2 at a time, SORN the rest and alternate them. It is a fabulous bike. I’ll probably be taking a V11 to the Guzzi stand at the Festival of 1000 Bikes in July. It’ll either be the Rosso Corsa or the silver V11 Sport. Rosso (and Nero) Corsa’s are really rare in the UK, but there is currently one on eBay asking price somewhat optimistically £8250! Ill find a way of PMing my email and no to you. I hope you have fully recovered from your back surgery and are enjoying biking again1 point

Are you attending anything in Europe? I recommend Le Mans if you have never been. Do not try to purchase your tickets using the MotoGP.com site, tickets are sold out. Go to the local website, to get your tickets: https://billetterie.gpfrancemoto.com/ You can get them DHL'ed to you. See what you get for 88 Euros for the three days: General access from Thursday until Sunday; Priority access to the Motorcycle Parking Access to the camping zones Moto or Auto Free access to the natural stands on first come basis Official program Meet and great the pilots Friday and Saturday after practices (most likely French pilots only, sorry...) Live music in the village on Friday and Saturday evening. Show on Saturday evening. You can take a Moto Taxi to the train station and take the TGV to Le Mans. https://passbike.com/aeroport-de-paris/ I recommend trying it. It is like being on a roller coaster. You will be weaving through the cars; it is legal in France. Do you want to create one for Houston? we need to get Goldwings though. Do you think there is a market for that here?1 point

Hello Veggy, I’ve had the bike for just over 2 years. It’s previous owner lived near Tamworth, and he bought it from Teasdale Motorcycles around 2 years previously. It’s only had 3 previous owners before me. Looking back at all the old MOT certs it looks like the first owner lived in the NE and kept the bike for around 11 years. The last time it was MOT’d in Newcastle was during 2014, then in 2015 it was MOT’d in Warrington - was this you?1 point

Personally I think they look "less than optimal" Doesn't suit the style of the bike. The V11 is a "GT" style bike, a sporty all rounder and those pipes are for a "track weapon" type of bike and mimicking the Ducati 916. I'm always amazed that people think a particular style of major component can be swapped onto another bike as if a motorcycle is just a bunch of separately styled sub assemblies combined together rather than a harmonious integrated whole. Besides all that if you fit those then you may as well take the pillion pegs off it because it's totally impractical for a pillion now. Ciao1 point

I would suspect the caliper would be anodized ?1 point

As described, that knob mounted backwards on the throttle rod of a Sport 1100 would have friction as soon as the threads engage on the rod then. I’m not trying to make a case one way or another, it just doesn’t compute in my little backyard engineer brain.1 point

Marquez lost because he was in last place because of a botched start. If he hadn't been last but even mid pack, he very well could've won. The Suzukis didn't have the horsepower to keep up with Ducs on the long straights but have good tire wear and handling to run a consistent race.1 point

Scud, I was able to find a replacement caliper from Grimeca who bought the rights to produce from Brembo. Price for shipping & sales tax is $53.64 which is cheaper than the rebuild kit from UK. I will update how it goes with the install. Distance between the pads in this caliper is 6mm, so your disc needs to be a maximum of 5.5mm thick, unless you reduce the thickness of the pads before use. Brembo offers two different thicknesses of pads for their similar F05 caliper, so this practice of altering the pad material is commonly done. They come with Ferodo pads Ferodo pads part # FER4408” https://www.ebay.com/itm/363381691667#vi-desc-maincntr1 point

Yeah, I reached out to Electrosport for clarification on the electrical connection compatibility. I'm looking at their ESG814 Stator & ESR515 Regulator/rectifier....the stator has a sqare plug with spade connectors & their reg/rect has an SAE connector & 3 male pin connectors so, how does one plug into the other??. I really don't want to be splicing/cobbling stuff together, would prefer a "plug & play" set-up. Hopefully I'll hear back from them today or tomorrow...even though I'm not in a big hurry to spend money. On the plus side, Electrosport offers a one year warranty with no Odyssey battery disclaimer. It looks like I could have some of the same connector issues with Euro Motoelectric stuff too.1 point

*I'm only guessing* but I'd bet is a smaller pitch diameter.1 point

I noticed that when I assembled the knob back onto the rod that it threads on easily at first then has a distinctive resistance the rest of the way through. Is this accomplished with some change to the threads, a slightly smaller inside diameter, or how?1 point
-
It's a normal right hand thread. I got my 32mm deep socket from Grainger1 point

Said it before but after installing a regulator, ( 3 now ) directly connected to your battery, no more problem with charging. 14V plus idling. 30amp fuse is on holiday. IMO Roadstercycle has good products. Cheers Tom.1 point

Hi I ought to add mine to the register, it’s a 2003 with 15,000 miles. Previous owner bought it from Teasdale Motorcycles (a Guzzi dealer here in the UK) I’ve hardly used it in the past year as I’m currently awash with V11’s and a Griso. For the past 3 months been using my Greenie, and my 1999 Silver red framed Sport1 point
