  1. It has been said, "You Hear a Ducati, but, you Feel a Guzzi..."

  2. However, a big block Moto Guzzi does not need high compression pistons or to be at race speed to sound great. It sounds bellissimo at any revs, with any appropriate load. On a side note Docc I have recently ridden a friend GB500TT. What a little joy they are for a short sprint on some undulating twisties.

  3. ...probably the finest sounding V twin ever built? I love the Ducati desmodue, but I'll be damned if the big Guzzi doesn't match, or at least rival it for sound and character! I'm loving mine more by the day.

  4. To me, the best sounding motorbikes were those which had one exhaust per cylinder; starting with the 1970 Honda 750 CB. Then, the Kawasaki triples; not with the expansion chambers that everybody seemed to favor.

  6. @PJPR01Have you been to the Salt-Lick BBQ in Driftwood? I bet you have. I think I am going to give it a try; not so much because it is an "All you can eat" Barbecue, rather, they have their own wine cellar and they offer some Texas made wine. I like they seem to have a lot of room unlike all the other popular BBQs in Austin that require long waits which kind of kill the pleasure of going out for a "graillou"

  7. Sorry but you and I are on different planets with regards to what sounds good. That Video is bordering on obscene on several levels. Ciao

  9. I acknowledge your experience sticking with AGM - but it’s also worth seeing the snowmobile guys er.., gelling well with them. 🤤 They obviously can work just fine in subzero conditions - & speaks volumes as it would be more life threatening to get stranded out woop woop in the snow! But as you say… “YMMV”

  10. I've owned both the RC30 and the 851 with the reverse cone megaphones. They were way to loud for the road though and I ended up with a full alloy can SP2 system on it. The RC30 sounded nice at WOT mostly due to intake noise. If you've ever heard a WSB RC30 running in the pits without the backlash gears fitted to the cam drive gears which is how they were run back in the late 80's you'd be shocked at the mechanical racket once they got warmed up. Ciao

  11. Best Moto Guzzi V-twin I ever heard was Andy York's LeMans when it had the Gianelli on it. Maybe because it was always in front of me. And pulling away . . .

  12. The ferry ride, albeit short is enjoyable especially on a nice day! Most days you should be able to see dolphins swimming along near the boats…

  15. I've had mine off twice, once when purchased and once to install my Roper Plate. Neither time I saw anything of note, and I'll not take it off ever again without specific reason. The threads are a particular concern, and the Roper Plate causes you to lose 1/4 of the threads you had so care is warranted. Any engine block I have upside down will get all the pan holes Timeserted.

  16. When I was in Italy, a colleague had the 930 Turbo. The distinctive flat 6 sound of the air cooled version is unmissable. Before the 996, I had an S2000, and the handling was superior! Alternatively....
