  1. Protest songs and political statements in songs are as old as the road to Rome. And everyone is free to agree or disagree. Hell, I don't agree with everything Bob Dylan wrote. But as you all know, a political discussion is not allowed on this forum! My suggestion: Everybody is free to post music vids. All I ask of you is to think carefully what you post here. And for the people who disagree with the content of some of these videos: just don't react. It's not that hard. Thanks!

  2. The Bronco is beautiful Tim. I would love to get one but it would have to fill the "other" car slot as my need for a truck is a priority. Too many $'s for a second vehicle, and that slot is already filled with a gas sipper. I won't bore with my lifelong vehicle anecdotes but with the exception of one Toyota, all my non Fords have been a disaster. Especially (that one time) GM. When we were in high school there was always a rivalry "General Morbidity" "Fix Or Repair Daily" "Dead Or Dying Garage Exhibit" .... good times!

  5. Received the chrome moly today, and thought, "man.. that's heavier than I would expect." Sure enough, I fat fingered the order and got 2 pieces instead of one. That should be a lifetime supply of shifter extender stock.. At any rate, this run is officially on. I'll take material and a .dxf file to the water jet shop tomorrow.

  6. Why not? My motorcycle is my first mean of transportation, and I only take my car out because I have to. And I have a fun car to drive, but nothing can match the V11 feel!

  9. Wow... stirred up some bad Ford experiences. We bought a new Subaru Forester a few years ago and had so many problems that Subaru cut us a check. I am the only person I know to have had an experience like that with a Subaru. It soured us on the brand for a while, but now my wife has a Subaru Crosstrek Sport and we are very happy with it. Hopefully our Bronco will prove as reliable as it is fun. My "daily driver" is still a Moto Guzzi Stelvio. I also carry a AAA gold card that is good for up to 200 miles of towing on any car or motorcycle.

  10. Even the "not so good" Italian Engineering. This was my ultimate Automotive Sin, bought as a non-running Biturbo with a spare wiring harness in the trunk....

  13. All my bitching about my kid's Focus ST and the expense of driving a performance car as a daily driver, actually my DD is an '08 Corvette. I bought with 44k miles on it and have about 80k on it now. It's been a pretty good car, although I'm living with a CEL that I can't kill and a chattering clutch. I can change the plugs in wires in about 30 minutes, easier than the valve adjustment on my Guzzis. Even the Michelin (all seasons run flat) tires haven't been that expensive. It's got 430HP and needs a nanny to keep me out of the ditch. It's a stick, pop top, analog gauges, simple radio (with 3.5 input for $10 Bluetooth module), sorta everything I wanted in a cruiser or runner. The worst is road noise in the hatch, I won't take it on interstate highway extended trips.

  14. We have had our Bolt for over two years with zero issues. It has literally been plug and play. One of the better new car buys we have made. There is a battery recall on it, but ours hasn't been an issue and we have yet to even talk to them about the battery recall. At some point I guess we will have to. And if they want to replace the battery that is fine. But if they only want to replace part of the battery I think I would pass. I don't want some dealer tech taking our battery apart. Good knows how bad they would bugger it up. There are other EV options I would consider, but not a Tesla. They have too many design issues and the company thinks their shit don't stink. Plus I have no desire to give Musk any of my money. But that is me, I avoid giving my money to Musk or Bezos. Those guys already have enough money. They don't need mine. Besides, too many other good options to choose from.

  15. You need to go to logged faults and clear any indicated before you can change the CO as well. CO at 21, no big deal. It may run better that way. There is no gospel rule that says it needs to be at zero. Phil

  17. Ok, yes this is a known issue and can be overcome. IIRC, there is a waiting time before switching the Ignition back on. You are very close. This can be accomplished!

  19. Looks like you are connected! Yes, you can start and run the bike with the diagnostics connected. In order to change the CO Fuel Trim using GuzziDiag, the engine has to be brought up to operating temperature (60ºC). With your "rich running" concerns, it is worth setting the CO Fuel Trim to "0"/ zero.

  20. some data: Advance ignition 10 deg throttle v 2.176V temp 22 ( cold engine ) air pressure 1022 CO trim : 21 ( ?? What does it mean ?) now if I click View , CO trim it says temp too low has to be over 60 I guess I can run the bike with everything attached?

  21. All good. These V11 are a matter of devotion. If they become a "thing" to you, then they become "a thing for sale." If you are going to send me your ECU, send the whole V11. I'll pay the shipping.

  22. Actually jokes aside. what about I ship my ECU to some good soul that can fix it up and ship it back to me ? this way I can start riding that bike let me know I will obviously pay for shipping and a case of your favorite drink . let me know !! cheers

  25. Yea I'm hearin ya. This Kuga(Escape) a year ago at 85000klm ate its centre tail shaft bearing! This is essentially a FWD SUV with rear drive on demand. So I drive around with the dash set on an image that displays which wheels are getting the drive in real time. It uses the rear drive around 10% of the time so the tail shaft spends 90% of it's life spinning freely without transmitting any torque. It gets an easy life this car and still the centre bearing fails! So off to Ford because I'm in a situation where I can't fix it myself at present and the car needs to be on the road. New complete tail shaft required for a $50 bearing because now in the Lego car world the $50 centre tail shaft bearing is not replaceable. Total cost parts and labour $2000. The learnings? Buy a car with the longest possible warranty, Prioritise reliability and a quality track record over everything else for your DD. If your car ever has a serious technical issue just sell it and eat the costs because even with a warranty 98% dealer techs are so inept that they will butcher most seriously technical or involved repairs anyway and you'll end up in the repeated horror story of endless issues caused by them and repeated returns to the dealer. Don't buy a Ford. Ciao

  26. Finally got it registered and plated and out for a shakedown ride. And I picked up a set of bags from Fotoguzzi to go with a set of racks that I had powder-coated. They are the cool Hepco Becker ones with the paintable panels. I'm going to visit a "wrapper" to see if they can make it look like the tail section with the grey diamonds and Nero Corsa script.

  27. I ordered a Bronco Wildtrak on the second day that Ford was taking reservations. That was about 2 years ago. About two weeks ago I took delivery. Here it is on one of the less-traveled ways up Mount Palomar. Sea-Level to 5,000 feet in 50 miles.

  28. Frey do not worry. People will be people and do what they have to do. I appreciate any effort in someone trying to do something cool for the community. Several good things have come together for us here from member efforts just like yours. Sometimes they work out, sometimes not. I wouldn't have the patience for your endeavor, so kudos to you for it.

  29. “Yet More” because this is about yet another “Mutton Run” to Daviess County in western Kentucky. This one was from 26 - 31 May 2022. I have posted about others before here and elsewhere. Mutton may not be "everyone's cup of tea," but bourbon, beer, and BS seem to see the haters through. And for attendees, these forays are always great fun, which is why, after all, most of us ride. The photos probably tell more than you want to know, but ask if anything is puzzling … and you care. The pix open in “landscape collage,” which means you can look at all at once without slogging through in a rolling one-at-a-time slide show. If you care at all about captions, hover your cursor over the pix. If you don't … well, don't. Here goes: Motos & Mutton May 2022 Bill

  30. I remember going to the 2000 USGP, those 18k rpm V10 sounded like vacuum cleaners. Just like they did on TV. Nothing you'd ever hear sounded like the '90's CART Indycars. They revved to about 16k, V8 turbos with metal valve springs (unlike F1), those cars would really give a shiver down your spine. I think they own the closed course record of a 245 lap at Fontana. Those cars were monsters. So far as headers vs cast manifolds. My tech hates headers for cracking, breaking and leaking. Tells me to never change out stock exhaust manifolds for performance for your daily driver. Only for hobby cars.

  31. If you like incredible engine sounds, here's one among the best! the Matra 650 12 cylinders. Rumor has it that is particular sound came because the exhaust pipes were cast and not welded which is the standard way today. Thus, the pipes vibrates like a horn instruments and make this incredible sound. Jump to 2'; this car was auctioned by ArtCurial and the presentation is irrelevant.

  32. Some things will not be forgotten. Old HEMI'S do have a spesial way of singing to, she was a Keith Black edition. Fresh battery was a must, serios carb fire every startup, hi lift cam. Hit the starter again and suck in the flames,, there we go. Chrashbox, was it AP 833 ? And yes Doc Hooker headers. Fuel lines = garden size hoses, but fun fueling that Belvedere, real family car. Wish I had a sound track. First dragrace in Norway was in 1978, runner up there with a 71 Charger R/T. Bla bla campfire talk. IPA time. Cheers Tom.

  33. Not everyone would watch (and listen!) to 27 minutes of car noises. Admittedly, I have a decent sound system to play these sonorous tracks through. I got hooked in the first six minutes thinking, "Nothing here wants to idle or run at less than 5,000 rpm!" (Just like mySport . . .) Then, they turned them all loose!
