  1. Hey All, I've just picked up a 2000 V11 Sport with Magni fairing after lusting after one for years. I've been riding for 13 years, starting on a Honda CM400. I've had a VFR, KTM 640 Adv, Versys and Buell XB. The V11 joins the current stable of a 2014 Ducati Hyperstrada and 2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (My girlfriend's). Caught the Guzzi bug from my dad who's had an Eldorado, California, Convert, 750s, Breva, Quota, Nuovo Falcone at various times. Looking forward to meeting you all and plumbing the depths of knowledge and information archived in these forums. If you're in Eastern Ontario or West Quebec hit me up for a ride or a beer sometime, but never both together. Cheers, Sam

  4. I'm a December 2020 reservation for a loaded Badlands. No sign of it yet. These rigs are immensely capable even for the novice driver. The Off-Roadeo was an absolute blast!

  5. I had the exact same problem on the Le Mans last week, when I attempted to replace the H4 lamp with a LED light in the head light. I followed the manual's instruction, requiring to remove the little "access trap" underneath the fairing, to get access to the screw that enables pivoting the assembly upwards, and removing the diffuser/reflector. What I did not know at that time, is that the clip on nut was attached to a plastic tab inside, and the plastic tab was no longer holding the nut. @Tomchri suggested to take off the entire fairing, which I did, and this is when I realized what was happening. I repaired the plastic tab with modelism plastic glue. That saved me from purchasing a replacement bucket. I did notice that a lot of the hard plastic parts become brittle with time, especially when exposed to so much UV light.

  6. The forum consists not only of beta testers, but also beta fixers.

  8. Welcome, Sam! You are in the right place to bond with your V11 ! That Magni-faired V11 reminds me of our Nova Scotia member @Gio 's Sport that he sold two years ago.

  9. Mine bit the dust today. I had just found a permanent mount for it. This is what I just wrote them: I'm having problems with by Beeline. It's worked well until yesterday when the display jittered and progressively got worse. As far as I could determine, the navigation seemed to be accurate so long as I could see the screen. I got home and charged it. The display indicated that the unit was 7% charged, I was surprised it was that low. Today (28 June) after charging, upon startup the unit received a software update. I took the unit on my motorcycle and as I rode I noticed the navigation seemed to be off. Perhaps the instructions were coming on a bit to early- not sure. About 10 minutes into my ride the unit stopped working altogether and went blank. When I tried to turn it on, it would not pair to my phone (Pixel 2). Then I got the script, to contact you: Beeline - 26:529 V3913 p.21 ec8 Dev Error

  10. Working on my head light last week.... three showers and complete change to carry out the task.... My biggest problem is vision..... I am short sighted, so I need to remove my glasses all the time to alternate near sighting and far sighting. It is only with old age that I no longer have glasses that do both. At least, I don't need so-called reading glasses. Do you have a bench with a vice?

  11. Good to hear...I have still this task on my To do list...so far, I haven't been riding at night, so it hasn't been a major concern...but I'd like to get it fixed shortly. Have a few other fun projects also on the other bikes, replacing the handle bars on the Stock Griso to Aprilia Mana bars (less wide, slightly pulled forward) and need to do the TPS adjustment on the Scura now that I know what/how to adjust it physically. Just waiting for the temps to go down to a tolerable level so the garage is not a sauna! In fact, just this weekend I decided to install lightweight insulation panels on the garage door which makes quite a bit of difference I am pleased to note, and today will be replacing the rubber gasket on the bottom of the garage door in the evening. Now I'm seriously considering putting a Daikin Split A/C unit into the garage. Once that's all done, I can work much more comfortable on the bikes even during the summer months.

  12. I finally installed the two Formotion instruments after a long moment of reflection. Rather than using the front fork tee, I opted to use the 6mm screws that hold the front fairing cover. It is not (yet) perfect. I have plastic bushings that I was planning to file down at an angle, so the instruments would be perfectly in line with my vision when I ride the bike. But I need a vice to do that properly. Instead, I used washers to make up for the recess, and simply installed the thermometer on the left and the clock on the right. No permanent modification of the Guzzi. That's what I prefer. Unfortunately, the Formotion instruments don't have night fluorescent pointers, at night they will be unreadable. Which is fine, since I am still not planning to ride at night. ______________________________________________________________________________________ I am considering the installation of an RTD or Thermocouple based Oil Temperature indicator. I know that the oil temperature information is unnecessary. I am simply interested in finding a way to do it. I would like to get that information on the dashboard, so the oil combined thermometer dipstick is not what I am looking for. One way to use gas flow rate, is to measure pressure, differential pressure across a known orifice, and of course temperature taken in the gas stream. Before electronics took over, we used RTD devices, which were completely mechanical. I found what I was looking for in Europe, now what I need to devise, is where to connect the temperature probe on the Guzzi. But its another thread I guess. [docc edit: agreed. Installing Oil Temperature Sensor thread created based upon @p6x's comment, italicized.]:

  13. Welcome from the Land of Evil Spirits! Kindly note that all known and some unknown issues with V11s have all been solved here - or at least made workable.

  15. That one on the right looks like a fan cooled unit. I have two American made metal fan drivers in my Stelvio for years with no issues just for the record is all. PS ,,,, they weren't cheap.

  17. A saying, you usally get what .. Had to wait a couple of weeks extra for the VCm 3 from Vintage car, they were out. They were offering me more expensive H4 bulbs if I wanted to, no extra charge. But knowing the VCm 3 fits right in, waited. So called life time warranty. Ok, finished with H4 bulbs. Cheers Tom.

  18. You can actually get access to a significant portion of the fuel on the Right hand side of the tank. The fuel is delivered to the pump from the left hand side of the tank but it returns it to the Right Hand side. I took the return fitting out and extended it up with a 45 at the top side so it would throw the fuel over to the Left Hand side. In theory if the tank is low and you tilt it over to the Left it should take a while to migrate back to the Right.

  20. Protest songs and political statements in songs are as old as the road to Rome. And everyone is free to agree or disagree. Hell, I don't agree with everything Bob Dylan wrote. But as you all know, a political discussion is not allowed on this forum! My suggestion: Everybody is free to post music vids. All I ask of you is to think carefully what you post here. And for the people who disagree with the content of some of these videos: just don't react. It's not that hard. Thanks!
