  2. As a kid I was always pretty impressed with amusement park rides, but they were always too short. My dad built me a lovely minibike when I was around 13, and I quickly realized that I could own the amusement park ride and that I got to say when it ended. I can't figure why everyone doesn't have a motorcycle or two but that and the good people in my life, sure make me feel lucky.

  5. I'd be more amazed if there wasn't a "slight rattling noise" I suggest you fit and oil pressure and oil temperature gauge to the bike before you do anything else. Phil

  6. I was able to get the unit to reinitialize and appears to be working. At least in the house. First it worked with my wife's phone. After several tries I was able to reinitialize the unit and establish a handshake with my phone. I'm not sure how stable it it but it did finally work. I wrote too soon, not connecting to either phone now. Update (4 Jul). Finally got it to work again. Got it to UNPAIR on the unit itself. When it finally started it needed to reinitialize the gyro. Then it paired with my phone and started working again. I did three restarts and directions.

  7. Ha ha I should have known they'd become a big deal in my life when as a kid I'd pedal like buggery on my treadlie ( bicycle ) then stop and enjoy the sensation of speed with no effort ( for a brief moment )! It was a long wait till age 17 and my first motorcycle..... Jeez was it that long ago? Cheers Guzzler Ps wow I'd have loved a bike at 13 mate, my folks were not all that chuffed with the idea of them but thankfully didn't stand in the way of me getting one when I could afford it.

  8. It is notable that when the clutch is disengaged on the common V11, there are two friction plates and a steel intermediate plate free to rattle around.

  9. Before doing something drastic, why not roll it back and forth clutch out. Same noise? Potential problem. No noise? No problem. Consider the racket that the clutch makes running, disengaged, in either neutral or in gear. Have a friend de-clutch the running bike while you listen from beside the transmission. A side effect of the design is that the clutch is noisy. If shifting and power transmission are otherwise fine, I do not immediately see any need to dismantle things. But, I am not there.

  10. Thanks Docc. A good tip and great links! I replaced the spring in the gearbox a couple of years ago and that's a good place to start the search.

  11. Oh, I didn’t know it was a replacement, thought it was an additional item. I’ll have to investigate… thx

  12. I think they're about $150-200 new. They also have a special purchase discount for previous owners and offer refurbed/used sales too. I'd just as soon fix mine but I'll figure it out when I hear back. Or just chuck it.

  13. Yeah. I noticed the sound when I pushed the bike into the garage. I had left it in gear when I came home so I grabbed the clutch en thus noticed the sound. The drive shaft is fine. I can hear the sound coming from inside the gearbox.

  14. O.K...I checked, I have 2 one with a little tear in it..but otherwise good condition..you can have that if you want it. Probably cost me $20-$25 bucks to ship it since they are kind of bulky...send me a P.M if you want it and I'll get your mailing address info. cheers!

  15. We are all accustomed to the clutch plate rattle changing with the lever in versus out, but I've never held in my clutch lever and rolled the bike listening for noise. This would have me inspecting the driveshaft yokes and U-joints . . .

  16. After several rounds of e-mail correspondence with Beeline, since my unit is out of warranty I've discovered that they have a repair service. I'm awaiting instructions how to utilize this. I'll let you know regarding cost, delivery and quality.

  18. Ok cool, thanks. I "think" USPS "priority mail international" is back now for Australia from the website. Can you please check and confirm at the post office and the shipping costs? Naturally as small and light as possible ( Guzzi owner style ) I'll mod the taps and maybe have a charity auction or lucky prise dip or something. Ideas? Maybe a sale and the proceeds to the website. 20. Yeah, my sweetie loves art deco. When we built our house she was the "designer" and I was the "making it happen" person. Here are our bookends on the coffee table books area.. When she was out in SoCal, I found and pulled wires, put a new switch in, put a new socket in, found the bulbs, did some paint work, etc. for her birthday. I think is is more Jetsons than Art deco.. but she loves it, and so do I.

  21. All the roundfin Tonti's are basically the same apart from valve size, combustion chamber and piston dome shape and carburettor and port size. Pretty much everything else is cosmetic. Please don't hack up yet another lovely old T3 or SP. if you want to build some turgid 'Cafe Racer' start off with something shitful that nobody cares about.
