  1. Domenica tour Lecco - Passo San Marco....molto divertente!

  2. I've said elsewhere that it's my observation that the bike starts easier, idles faster, never coughs or stalls, lost any hint of the ~3200rpm hiccup and generally runs better everywhere. That said in the environment of neglect, where I'd been sidelined by relay connections and a failed starter motor- the gears were a big improvement even then. I haven't had a whole good day at once on it yet since, but a couple hundred miles says it's great, and a *lot* of maintenance while awaiting the return of my throttle rod makes me very hopeful. It's my opinion that the stock chain tensioner simply does not hold timing well, particularly at idle and ~3200rpm.

  3. Nice report, @ScottMc! Thanks for chiming in! I'd say 41.5 mpgUS is on the high side of average for a V11. Although, 40-ish is not uncommon with a very steady throttle and no repetitive (rich cycle) restarts or cold temperatures. Surefire formula for reducing your fuel economy? Ride like docc : go out looking for tight, twisty roads to row the gears, drive hard out of the corners, blip the throttle on the downshifts, storm the straights = 36.5. At the current cost of premium fuel, that difference in fuel usage costs me $17.65US for 1,000 miles of riding. SOLD! (Of course, I also have to save up for tires and brakes . . . )

  4. Thanks Pressureangle for your kickoff impressions on how adding the gears impacted your V11 - hoping everyone who got this latest batch of JC’s gears chime in some feedback thereby adding up to a worthy collection. But are there crickets? I’ve kinda been surprised at the lack of reports post sale - & was wondering whether that silent void was a telling indication. Maybe it’s a hint that the initial enthusiasm for the purchasing of gears had not sufficiently met owners expectations - or it might’ve meant everyone was out busy riding & enjoying their improved V11 with bigger grins! Who’s happy - why? Who’s not - why? Good, bad, meh indifferent - all impressions will help add to the knowledge bank.

  5. I spent 3 days last week in the Valleys between Swansea & Neath, and enjoyed sampling some Tomas Walkins Ale. There’s plenty of ale sunk in the valleys, it is an ex-mining region, and although the mines have long since closed the tradition lives on Here’s another gratuitous pic of my Rosso Corsa next to the Matlock telephone booth yesterday. The boozer is 20 yards away over the road, temperatures reached 80 deg F yesterday, the boozer was rammed

  7. Indeed. At 126,000 miles mySport has never run better. It tried to lift the front wheel on a hard second gear shift the other day. On the original timing chain/tensioner. I'm gonna need a good reason to take her off the road for the gear installation. And decide what other things to maybe do at the time. That can be a slippery slope: valves, guides, hotter cam, high compression pistons, polished rods, supercharger, water cooling, drive chain conversion . . . Yet, I do have this gorgeous gear set for when the time comes.

  9. I'll throw in another scenario. Some of us may not have installed the gears yet. I've been busy with various other projects and family stuff. Just did 12 hours of wallpaper for the bathroom... that's time I could have spend riding or tinkering.

  11. If enough riding opportunities have been had & enjoyed …are you guys planning on adding your impressions? Made much difference?

  12. She rocks. She blues. She croons. She plays her own guitar(s). I believe this is her best band, yet. What she does with a pedal board is second only to my own lead guitar guy (but she dresses more interestingly ) I love the way she opens the show, on Tampa Bay, with a cigar box guitar . . .

  13. I saw Roger a few years ago. His show is just a triumph of sight and sound unlike anything I've ever seen and very political. sorry I only had my old phone and not my travel camera or even my newer phone.

  14. A few yrs ago, I had a chance to pick up a Lemans ll former race bike, set up with the Magni swing arm, very cheap, 2K?. The racers seem to be more likely to go to that bother of trying to get the best performance at speed. I have my suspicions this bike might be a former track bike, especially with the open carb set up, most street riders will at least put K&Ns on the carbs. fwiw
