Here's a tip for these allen heads and also phillips head screws that are known to be tight or going to be problematical. Buy yourself some WATER based valve grinding paste NOT oil based and put a blob on the tip of the tool before inserting into the screw head. The paste triples the grip of the tool. When your job for the night is to remove the leading edge panels on the wing of a jet and the total Phillips head screw count is around 600 screws and they've been installed for a year or two you lean all the tricks. There are others as well, for another day. Phil5 points

Just think, I get no royalties Oh the life I could be leading on the Costa Brava but instead I sacrifice it all to the pleasures of fellow Guzzi V11 Sport riders. A life of service to my people Phil4 points

Moved to 24/7 V11 since, yes, this is a legit V11 model . . . That "CycleChaos" link is a nice try, but they miss the mark on a lot of levels. Sure, the bikini fairing was added, but may have been a dealer option. Everything about it is 2002, except the VIN. We often refer to these 2003 as "carry-over" 2002s. I have a printed Moto Guzzi sales catalog with your very "Sport Naked" shown in that color. [Correction: My printed sales brochure from 2001 (showing 2002 models) calls this "V11 Sport Naked" and my printed 2003 catalog calls it simply "V11 Naked."] Take a look at this V11Lemans.com thread and you will see your V11 (with a reference to the 2003 "carry-over" models):4 points

My T/S flasher failed on the last ride. It had been intermittently absent or lit/no flash for some time now. I replaced it with a 20A max (why? Tractor-Trailer?) LED flasher. I had to add a polarity reverser to the base, and remote ground wire. But it's bright and quick! Better than expected. At 1.8 amps, should last forever. Boring, but it's raining today.3 points

The ball end and rod muffler supports aren't a good idea. The mufflers require some amount of lateral and anti rotational support from the hanger bracket, these give zero. When you come up with an idea you never see anyone else do it's either brilliant OR the opposite. This is the opposite. I wish it was a good idea as it would have saved me quite a few hours over the years making and fitting hanger brackets. Phil2 points

Did a valve adjustment. And thanks to KINDOY2, I have some spiffy head guards. While I was polishing them, I also brightened up the valve cover bolt heads, so I fully expect to dazzle a few motorists in today's sun. In search of "approved" muffler hangers.2 points

Okay, here ya go, @LaGrasta! Courtesy of our esteemed member @chamberlin: Chamberlin also posted this 2002 German sales brochure that depicts the V11 Sport Naked. First time I've noticed the "maroon" color tank called "Rosso Vintage" . . .2 points

Well, the latest Lucky Phil Shifter Extender job is in the books. All have been shipped and all have paid. (!) There was an overpayment or two. One grossly over paid. (!!) Gotta love Guzzi Guys. To those guys that overpaid.. don't worry, I'll put it to good use. Most likely fuel for the helicopter that I use to take out to the yacht that I bought with Extender money.. or maybe beer. Thanks all! You guys rock..2 points

Located in Milwaukee, WI I’m the second owner of this well sorted bike. I bought this in 2014 from a guy that had it in a storage facility in Michigan and it hadn’t been ridden in a few years. I bought it basically sight unseen, trailered it home and basically pulled it apart and cleaned every single bit of it. This bike has been at every WI Guzzi Rally from 2015-2019 and has been on several long weekend trips without issue. I unfortunately don’t have the time to ride much anymore, so it’s time to sell. I’ve never laid this bike down, and it doesn’t appear that the original has crashed it either. It starts within a few seconds and runs strong and shifts easily. New oils and oil filter this year. Air filter was replaced in 2019. Valves have been adjusted as needed, TPS set and everything has been regularly lubed and fluids replaced as needed or according to schedule. Aprox. 20k miles. Purchased with bad odometer (original owner said he put about 10k miles on it). Has a Speed Hut mechanical Speedometer and tach on it which has a custom made GM speed sensor on it (see pic). DM for more info and pics Ohlins suspension and fork brace. Fork seals were replaced in 2019 when the tires were installed by Ducati Milwaukee. Battery is about 4 years old and has been on a Battery MINDer with desulfator. It’s as strong as ever. Meinholf fuel/air map on it and it runs great! Has a spare set of wheels on it powder coated in black with 90 degree angle valve stems. I also have matching black "pork chops” which I haven’t had time to install. The alternator cover has also been powder coated black, as well as the cylinder head covers. Cylinder head covers and engine crash bars Shad top box and Hepco Becker side cases with keys TTO engine block thermometer Oxford heated hand grips (best on the market IMHO) HID headlight (I have the original Bosch unit as well) as well as factory headlight mount. Current headlight mounts are from an EV model. Folding shift lever ADV Monster LED driving lights with remote (see pics) Fuzeblock for all added accessories Roper slopper plate Ducati Monster carbon fiber headlight flyscreen Pirelli Angel GT II tires installed in 2019 with less than 2k miles on them. I believe I replaced the rear brake pads then, and the fronts are in great shape. CRG bar end mirrors (I believe I have the original mirrors). Pazzo adjustable levers Gold handlebars have been painted black Aftermarket exhaust crossover (I think it’s Stucchi). The original is included with the sale1 point

This image was the day I brought both home on my trailer. I'm anxiously awaiting the day I get to start and ride either of them. I only need to remove and clean the injectors and install a battery for the V11 to start (fingers crossed). It also has a leaking fork seal though. As for the GB, I still need to clean the carb, then a battery and go for a run!1 point

Well... I installed the shift extender and took my 02 Lemans for a ride yesterday. WOW... what a difference, definitely the biggest single improvement. Before I would have to consciously shift every gear so as not to miss a shift. Now it shifts quickly, cleanly, and precisely into every gear, and that is both up/down. Feels like a completely new and different trans.. Thank you Chuck for all the work, Phil for the " INGENUITY " SKIP1 point

True. My 98 Centauro was supposedly the touring model with the windshield I don't think they ever made.. and the abbreviated "luggage rack." It did have the rack, but had the sport chin fairing and instrument cluster fairing. It was anthracite, which to the best of my knowledge was never a sport Centauro color. Apparently, they just used what they had that day. I've said before that the only reason they assembled them was to make sure you got all the parts. I started my long love affair with the spineys though.1 point

Thank you everyone that responded. Yes, I understand the carryover, use the parts-bin, ship-to-USA mindset. It does seems as though this model is the least documented. Rosso Vintage, I like the sound of that. I also like the lavender mufflers, they match the tank as if intentional! Being discolored and not painted this way also explains why I never see the bike with this color combo unless it's a used bike photo. My bike does also have the crinkle paint btw.1 point

Gentlemen: Thank you for the tips. I'll go through the boots and gaskets looking for an air leak. Hopefully I'll have some news in a few days.1 point

Mine is split open at the top. I cleaned everything up and used liquid electrical tape to seal it. This will be a regular maintenance check at least with any tire or brake service.1 point

Didn’t stay overnight at Mallory, had to miss out on the MGCGB Chinese dinner washed down with copious supplies of booze to return home for a family BBQ. Retuned to Mallory early Sunday morning on the Griso to mix the Guzzi display in the tent up a little. Outside the tent one of our club members was warming up his racing 1100 Sport (entry no 470) to chase the various Yamaha TZR750’s, 900 Ducati’s & the odd Laverda. It was the only spine frame Guzzi participating in that days classic racing inside the tent it reached 90 deg F which for us is seriously hot1 point
